Does the active display feature from the new Moto X (and new droids) can be downloaded anywhere or is available for other devices? That is the coolest feature of the new moto phones and something I'm really looking for.

I was wondering if I can add icons to the display that comes up when I swipe up from the home button on the Moto G.
Currently on the display is the Google icon which takes me to Google Now. Is there a method of adding more icons to the display?
e.g. Swipe up for Google Now
Swipe right for Chrome
Swipe left for Whatsapp
There looks to be plenty of room on the display which got me thinking.
Is there a way to find all the alarms which is currently active set to go "off"?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've downloaded some short videos and i want to add it on my phone so i can watch it, but how do i add it to my phone? I went to search and it says to look for the folder named "Videos" after you connect your phone to the computer , but i cant find that folder anywhere !!
And sometimes when i connect my phone to the computer , it shows up but when i try to view my folders it remains like that (added a picture of it)

Our phone ( Samsung Galaxy Duos ) had an app installed for hypnosis and it was a relaxation type spiel. After hearing it decided it was rubbish and uninstalled it. Thought it was gone until I got a call or text and it starts to play automatically, it goes for 20 minutes. Once you hit a button or drop notification screen down it stops until the next incoming call or text. I cant see it anywhere on any app lists or on the sd card on the phone etc.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI had my Moto-X set up so nicely! When someone calls or I get a text, up pops their picture. When I want to call someone I just start to type their name and their pic pops up with the phone number. Then I picked up a Mo-G and with the Moto transfer app I had the Mo-G set up the same way, in a heartbeat.
So now I'm rollin' with a HTC One on T-Mobile and I'd love to have it set up the same way. They have some kinda 'migrate' app, and I tried using that, then there is always bluetooth but alas... I can't for the life of me figure out how to transfer all of my contacts from either one of the Motorola's to the htc One and have all of the info and pics. I've looked for apps, I've tried using a usb cable on this PC but nothing seems to work. I'm sure I could set it all up again manually, but shouldn't I just be able to transfer all of my contacts with a few buttons?? I have the 'People' app on the Motos but I don't see that on the HTC.
Any way to keep GPS running when the phone goes to sleep? There are times when I want to have my location continuously reported to Google Latitude, and it's a terrible waste of battery to keep the screen running just to do that.

I receive the messages from those accounts on gmail on my phone, but when I try to reply or forward those emails, I get a failure message.
View 1 Replies View Relatedi have a moto g 16gb version. actually i want to use only 3g at my location. but my phone is set to preferred 3g mode which means that it uses 3g only when 3g signals are good. so there is no option of using only wcdma or 3g. also tried the phone testing app but no gain.
View 6 Replies View RelatedMy Active Applications Widget is incorrect. It now says 0 on the Widget, but clicking on it and opening the program shows "Active applications: 4" and it lists the 4 apps that I have recently used.
Why is the Widget wrong? It worked when I first put it there.
When an call is active, the status bar gets green if you don't have the call application open. Is it possible to use NinjaMorph to change this with a .gif or something so it's blinking red?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI just got a Vodafone 858 (Huawei U8160) and tried to connect it to my Google account. Didn't work because every time I entered my password and hit the login button it'd just empty the password field. After a while I tried disabling the 2-step verification and suddenly everything worked. Now I reactivated the 2-step verification and both my S III and U8160 report a login problem and require me to login again (which I assume is normal). The problem is that this puts me right where I started. Happened with the Stock ROM and this ROM. Didn't try any other.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to enable the active scanning mode on my HTC Desire but still got no luck. I've forced Android and wpa supplicant to go in to active mode. I've retraced this and the forcing works but when wpa supplicant tries to set the driver in active mode it always got set in passive mode and I can't force it in to active mode.
Any way to force an android device to scan active for wifi networks? It doesn't mind if It's on another device. I'm desperate to get it to work.
And I know it's not power efficient but that's not the goal. The only goal is to scan as fast as possible. Scanning in active mode should make this possible.
there is a way to more selectively manage probing requests in android. I am always forgetting to turn off my wifi when I leave the office/home and don't really like the idea of my phone broadcasting so much info about me in the requests (esp when i don't need wifi). I have been looking for settings but didn't find one and was thinking about an app perhaps that maybe can turn wifi off based on location (though i guess that would need gps which would be another issue?). I would settle for something that turns off wifi once it is out of range of a certain point (like home or work) for a certain period of time, then i could just turn it on manually when I am say at a cofee shop or whatever (and maybe it could turn off again when that point gets out of range).

The bundled app came with a 'cleanup/uninstall' script, that I ran, that promised to remove itself and it's root-granting abilities.
Now, even though I've got Superuser (Elite) installed, apps are saying I don't have root.
How do I configure Android (or SU) to use SU as my root-granting application?
I want to disable the lockscreen.
There are several apps that do this but they all have a side-effect:
When they run pressing the volume-buttons will turn on the screen and i dont want that.
I know that CM-Roms have this feature built in but they have terrible battery-life.

I ask this because I need to use both networks at the same time, my 3G for internet and wifi for my local network, i need to connect my phone to check a PC via VNC, but the internet where the PC is connected is very slow, so I want to connect my phone. But when i connect my phone to the wifi all the data tries to flow for the wifi which is slower than 3G (in this case).
My phone is a GS3 International, running ParanoidAndroid

View 1 Replies View RelatedI own a Moto G (Global GSM) running CyanogenMod 11 rooted with TWRP recovery and the bootloader is unlocked. I have been trying to go back to the stock firmware using this guide: [URL] ..... but I have a problem. The adb drivers for my device work fine when I am in the system or in the recovery, but don't work in the bootloader. I am able to type "adb reboot bootloader" when I'm in the system/recovery and it will follow the command, but once I get into the bootloader it stops. When I type "adb devices" a line saying "List of devices attached" comes up with nothing underneath it.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm a WinMob head but have been charged with a very important task; to retrieve all data from a frind's decased son's cell phone (Motorola Cliq Tmobile). I Pulled the SD card and transfered the pictures etc but the videos keep giving me a error; is there a trick to zipping them or something I can do to get them off?
My other issue is that the phone is a zombie-brick....by which I mean it will not charge enough to stay on; it charges enough to auto reboot and that taps the battery and it crashes over and over again. I bought a new battery and got the same results; the charging indicator shows it is charging but the phone does not show a charger is connected when it is on and I have spent the little charge that was on the new battery.
I'm using a stock Moto X international GSM version from the Motorola US store in the UK with a Giffgaff SIM card (with their limited goodybag that allows tethering). Using Android 4.4.2.
3G Internet on the phone itself works fine, but when I try to use the stock USB Tethering, Wifi Tethering or Bluetooth Tethering to use the 3G from my computer, all my packets seem to get dropped (ping and dig hang - computer is on Linux; tried on 2 computers).
USB tethering when the phone is on Wifi works fine, only when it's on 3G nothing works.
I have adb set up and working, and as expected a ping from adb shell works fine.
I flash The new Rom base on android 2.3.4. but original Gingerbreak v1.2 and SuperOneClick v2.1.1 Z4 root tools without success.

For some reason my plug stopped working, ive only had my galaxy s4 active is only 2 weeks old. it only charges when plugged into my laptop or xbox, but when i plug it in the manufactured plug and usb cord the phone will not charge while on. when off, the phone just vibrates every 3 seconds. and will not charge.
it used to charge on the plug when i would have it already plugged into my computer for a little bit. but now it doest work anymore..
I recently bought my first smart phone (Sony Xperia Active Android 2.3)
Since yesterday my time does not synchronize after a reboot. I rebooted a couple of times and also tried a different Apps which query and sync my clock. But they all come up with the same problem "server timeout", "perhaps there are network problems" "network not available" and I'm sure i have wifi working at the time. I also tried different NTP servers, IP adresses instead of DNS names and i've checked my home router (problem occurs at work as well).
I am using a MOTO X with android 4.4.2. The android OS has high background data usage only in cellular connection. There is no such issue in WIFI connection. I hav turned off auto backup, deleted Google+ and turned off all the syncs. Even after restricting background data the android os keeps using mobile data. I have done the factory reset once but even that didn't solve the problem.
