View 1 RepliesAny way to delete a word out of your personal dictionary that came with the phone? I want to delete a name, because my wife spells her name differently. So every time I use speech to text, it spells her name incorrectly.

I am sorry if this has already been posted but i was wondering how i could Edit my T9 dictionary on my Droid Eris?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have about a million words that need correcting in my Custom Dictionary but editing the damn thing is nearly impossible. Why can't they implement a way for us to make multiple selections instead of scrolling us all the way back to the top of the list upon deleting an entry? I feel like I'm taking crazy pills.
View 1 Replies View RelatedDid anyone figure out how to edit the dictionary? For example, if I added a word into it by mistake and now the phone keeps suggesting it, how do I take it out?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI do not have the option for "User Dictionary" when I press the settings key (button that looks like a gear at the bottom left of keyboard). I think its because of my location. I'm from Singapore and the keyboard that comes with it is a "CN Thai Keyboard". The settings button has a "abc" or "<chinese character>" below the "gear" symbol that toggles between chinese or english input when pressed. If held, some chinese input entry method options appear. No sight of an option to edit my user dictionary.
I want to edit the dictionary to remove wrongly spelled words I accidentally entered. I know the majority of you guys have another keyboard that came with your phone, and prob don't have this problem, but just wondering if someone from this forum might know..
I've looked for other threads about editing Swype's dictionary but have found none, so will ask here: I love using Swype Lite (1.16.12.5228) but have found the dictionary and the little word options popup to be less than helpful. I've tried to add words individually per the instructions saying to add each letter carefully then press the space bar, but the new word doesn't seem to be available the next time. And when I do try to enter 1 letter at a time it automatically adds another letter and spaces to each of the letters I'm trying to tap in. I would love to know if I can access Swype's dictionary through the SD card or wherever, and go in there and edit the shit out of it. Anybody know how, or if it's possible?

For reading the forum it seemed people thought with sense 2.1 that one would be able to edit the dictionary. I can;t find a way to do this? It would be nice to edit/delete the misspelled words inadvertently added.
Does anyone know how Swype updates its dictionary? I know it pulls words from my contacts list, but does it get them from any other source? There are certain words that constantly show up in Swype, even though I have deleted them countless times. "i'd" is a big one. I would never type the word "I" and leave it uncapitalized, and, yet, it somehow keeps reappearing in the dictionary. Certain letter combinations like "nt," "ou," and others continue to show up, even after I've deleted them. That's what has me thinking it's pulling words from something else on the phone. Is there any way to make it stop doing that?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI love the swype function of my phone, but it's adding words that I've typed manually (mostly either in spanish or stuff like "Yeah") into the word predictions, they're always wrong, and it's getting pretty annoying. When I first got my phone and it didn't have these words it worked flawlessly I've tried looking of ways to reset the dictionary as it was but no luck.Does anybody know?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI know that to delete words I've manually input into Swype is simply to highlight, hit the swype button and delete, but what about words that come in the Swype dictionary? For instance, I often mistakenly put in the word "Urea" when I want to say, "Yea." I don't see myself every needing the word "Urea," so I want to delete it from the Swype dictionary, but I can't seem to figure it out because it's not a word I made Swype learn, it's a word that came with Swype. Any way to fix this?

Is there a swype available that allows for the double tap edit option when in portrait mode? To me, this is the only thing that could make swype better. I am currently running 1.56 that doesn't expire. I tried 1.6, but unfortunately this option is not available.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have installed Swype beta and Shapewriter. After installing, form the home screen I press menu, settings, language & keyboard and click either swype or shape-writer.However, when I use an application like G mail, or the web browser, the droid default keyboard is displayed rather the swype or shape-writer,Any suggestions on where I need to adjust settings so that the default keyboard is either swype or shape-writer?I have used swype in the past and it worked great, unitil the beta expired. I just downloaded the new beta from the swype.com site. Just can't make it the default though.
View 7 Replies View RelatedIs there any way to tweak Swype so, for example, if I type a "7" and hit space, it will just leave a plain old "7" and not "720p"? It's kind of annoying to have to choose "7" from a drop down list when that's the only thing I typed.

View 2 Replies View Related"I am busy right now. I will call you later." This seems like a feature that I had with my BB. If you miss a call or reject a call, you could send this text message to the caller automatically.
My question is, how do you do this on the Eris? I can't figure it out. Has anyone used this feature?
I have an Edit Text field for the user to enter their weight in lbs. How can I override the traditional keyboard and display the numeric keypad instead?
View 2 Replies View RelatedWhile it is possible to edit text or type in Docs to Go and QuickOffice, to get to the edit mode is a PITA. The default in Docs to Go is Zoom in or out? WTF. You have to got to menu and toggle the keyboard to be able to add or edit text.
Is there a good notepad or word processing program that defaults to keyboard input? Better yet is there one that also allows highlighting text to cut, copy or paste?
From what I understood back before ICS there was no way to add another input language dictionary to an already compiled version of android on a phone. So most keyboards with multilingual support have separate language packs which can be downloaded optionally. However, this means you had to choose to use a keyboard other than the built in Android keyboard.
Now that ICS is out I flashed it on my Nexus S and noticed there are add-on dictionaries in the Language & input setting in Android Keyboard under "Keyboard & Input Methods" (click the 3 sliders to your right) and then towards the bottom under "Text correction" clicking on add-on dictionaries brings up a page with all available. Some are installed and some can be installed. Unfortunately none with the language I want.
how do I add another add-on dictionary and has this issue been fixed in the new Android ICS 4.0?Here is some additional info I found over the months of FroYo and GB input language dictionary issue: URL...
I got the Galaxy s4 yesterday. I'm going crazy just trying to add word to the dictionary. I can't even get it to spell my own name. It does not have the "personal dictionary" option under "language and input" that I am used to. I took it to Best Buy and three separate techs there played with it and they could not figure it out either.
How do I add words?
Is there any way to edit system [not user's] dictionary?? Android keyboard is suggesting me a lot of misspelled words (my lang is pt-br) and those words were never typed by me. An example of this (I don't know why but still I'm giving one) is the word "no" in portuguese: "no". It is giving me "no".
