I was just thinking you know those androids from China that let you watch TV without internet. I was thinking what if I took the apk file from that android and installed it on a normal android.

Anyway, when i am trying to watch a movie in my adroid device (Xperia Sola), sometimes it directly opens it with flash player withing the browser (Btw i am using stock) and sometimes it wants me to open with some apps, like Movies, Quickpic and MX Player. Since i am able to play that video with flash player in my computer, i want that video to be played by flash player, not by some apps.
Actually MX Player is better in watching movies, but sometimes it cant grab the movie, but flash player makes no problem like that.
I unchecked "Play HTTP Links" in MX Player, but there is no such option in stock Movies app and Quickpic.
Looking for an android-based tablet to watch movies on. My Nexus 7 2013 LTE 32g is great for this but want to keep playing on it while watching a movie. Hence, the need for a second tablet. The only criteria are: 1) great pic/color/clarity, 2) wifi capability to get the movies onto it easily; and 3) maybe (not a requirement) the ability to use a small point stylus and a handriting-to-text app. Prefer 8-12 inch screen and don't want to spend a lot of $ on unneeded memory or all the bells and whistles like on my new Nexus. I also have an iPhone 4, Windows 7 laptop, and Windows XP desktop.I am not tech-savvy and anything requiring boot/unlocking/jailbreaking, etc. is precluded by a sup-par operator.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI know that a tablet is best used via the touch screen, however I intend to connect my Android Tablet to the TV to watch movies and TV shows from the comfort of the sofa.I've just bought a wireless mouse which works with my Tablet, that is until I want to watch movies or TV shows.
While sat on the sofa, several meters from the TV and Tablet I can control the Tablet with my wireless mouse. No great shakes there but my problems start when I want to watch movies or TV shows. If I watch anything that I captured with my camera or Tablet I can control the aps by bringing up menus so that I can press pause, play fast forward or rewind.
However when I want to watch a movie or TV show I can not find a way to bring up a menu so that I can select pause, play forward or rewind. The only option I get is that when I right click I am kicked out of the movie/TV show and back to the general menu of all my available movies and TV shows.
why I can access playback menus for home produced video but I can't with movies or TV shows?
My sister has a Nexus 7 and wants to transfer a movie, which she bought on iTunes, onto her tablet. is there a free, legal way to do this?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI current have the latest YouTube app on my tablet and phone (Nexus 10 and 4) and for some strange reason, after the recent upgrade to 4.4.11 of the app, YouTube would crash everytime I try to watch any video. Attempts to clean cache/data and revert to older version of the app were unsuccessful too although it would not crash.
I must also mention that my YouTube account was banned some time ago due to some lame reason with a few foreign variety show video clips I posted being reported. Long story short, I was able to still watch YouTube clips previously with the app, without being successfully signed in. Both of my devices are on stock 4.2.2 with custom kernel and rooted of course.
Is there an app to capture video when watching let's say YouTube or any video? Was looking for something like that so I could capture my baby boys face as he watches videos .

On the iPod touch/iPhone there is an app called Air Video that allows you to watch movies stored on your computer through the wireless network. You can either convert them or watch them live while they are being convert. The quality of the videos are very good.
I don't like converting avi. to mp4 on my computer because it takes a long time and it also reduces the quality of the movie and makes the movie very blurry on my phone/ipod touch. So anyways, I was wondering if there was an app that is similar to Air Video and another plus would be being able to do all this over the 3G network instead of on WiFi. The reason why I ask this is because the WiFi network in our house is shoddy and the 3G network seems to be so much faster compared to our WiFi.
So i have the Droid Incredible.I also have a 16gig class 6 MicroSDHC.I have movies at home. Avi's, mp4, mkv, etc.I created a "videos" folder on the root of my 16gig and place different types of video files there.I know the incredible can't view avi's, but it should be able to view MP4 as is, correct? Mine won't read them. I need to convert them with an app (forgot the name) and convert them to 3gp. They videos always end up so crappy and pixelated.

I am a bit of a novice but have managed to work a lot of things out about my HTC desire through this website but I am struggling with playing online TV and videos as well as downloading films onto my phone. Firstly I am a fan of channel 4 on demand and I tried to watch something a box comes up which says- 'shockwave flash- there is not enough free memory to display this flash content' -
Does this simply mean that I need a bigger micro SD card as I have only got the 4GB one enclosed with the phone, if it is as simple as that then could get an 8 or 16 GB microcard? Next problem is watching online films (for example from blinkbox.com), I can watch these on my laptop but my phone wont play them- do I have to install a special player to get these to work?
And finally I am right in thinking there is not an app like the iphone in which you can click and buy movies on the HTC desire? If not how do I download movies onto my phone or maybe download them on my laptop and transfer them to my phone?
What apps etc. are available for watching the olympics (live or not live) on android? There was a post on this a week plus ago. Wondering if there are any updates.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have been having some major problems with my EVO regarding the data. If I use anything that is on the heavy side of bandwidth, like downloading a file from android marketplace, surfing the web, watching sprint tv, using the GPS, etc...the data will just time out for about 3 min at a time. For instance if I am downloading a 5mb app from android marketplace, it will maybe download a megabyte, then it will just stop downloading. If you look at the 3G symbol at the top, it will be white, but only the upstream indicator will be on. I can then open any other internet application on the phone, and nothing will work. It usually lasts for about 3 minutes at a time and happens fairly regularly. It will end up taking me 15-20 min to download a 5mb file from the marketplace. Same thing if I browse a bandwidth heavy site like digg.com. It will just time out after a while and it will just show the upstream indicator as solid and not do anything in any program.
This problem is not location dependent. I have this issue at my apartment, at work, at my friend's house, at the Sprint store...anywhere. I live in South Denver.
In chronological order, this is what I have done to troubleshoot/fix the problem:
First noticed problem
Turned off phone/Turned back on
Rooted and installed custom version of 2.1 w/ Sense
Removed battery (power cycle)
Talk to Sprint cust care. They sent signal over that reactivated the phone (2x)
Did factory reset on phone and formatted SD card
Swapped phone at Sprint store with new one
So even after swapping my EVO with a new EVO from the Sprint store and not fooling with the phone at all, I am still having the same exact issue.
I am absolutely at wit's end with this and I have no idea what to do at this point.
Update (6/25):
I have not been able to test with Wifi yet, but I just had one of my coworkers that has the same phone to replicate the issue on his phone. He is having the same exact problem as me, he just didnt realize it.
We set our phones next to each other and downloaded Space Buster 3D Lite off the Android Marketplace. Mine crapped out about 2mb in and so did his. He wasnt able to surf or do anything else on his phone for a few minutes just like mine.
I'm wondering if this a network problem in our area or if there is a problem with the phone.
Also, I downloaded a continuous ping program and did 3,000 pings with no packet loss, so it seems to only happen with heavy data usage ie. saturating your bandwidth.
I dont know if im looking in the right place but I've been trying to watch Highquality videos on this thing, "HD" or what not and I cant find any. I search through the youtube app and search for random crap in HD but when I watch a video it comes out to be all grainy and crap. Is that what its suppose to look like? I was expecting something different.

I've tried from the email, saving to the phone and then trying to watch in a media viewer and I can hear everything fine but not see any video. Is there some setting I don't have set correctly or is this a flash issue that will hopefully be fixed with 10.1 later this year?

It used to lock to T-m*bile, I unlocked it lastweek then use L*bara instead cause got free internet service hehe. somehow, everytime i try to use internet service it says unable to connect to internet/ network unavailable. but I tried the simcard with another phone and it was working. some friends suggest me to re-unlock it. but i donno how to re-unlock it.

On the Speed Test app, the highest speeds I get are 1.8m/bs downloads and around 500kpbs upload. However, those were at off peak times at night etc (probably when nobody is using the net).Generally I get anything from 0.3 m/bs to 0.9 m/bs though. Lately I've been experiencing some inconsistent internet speeds and reconnection attempts so for I've gone back to the default settings. Tbh though I'm not sure if it makes much difference.

View 2 Replies View RelatedSo I tried googling and poking through a ton of different forums (this one, nexusone forums, etc.) regarding formatting video to be used on the DInc. The general consensus was to use Handbrake with the iPhone settings to convert video. But that was taking forever. What is weird is that I bought the Sandisk 32GB card, and I put a number of copies of the new season of Dr Who on it (all avi's, unsure what codecs were used for it though). They're all smaller than the native resolution of the phone (something like 366xsomething). But neither Meridian nor DoubleTwist can play them. I wasn't sure if it was card related, so I moved the files off the card onto the phone (which took forever, btw) and it still would freeze up opening the video. So I'm guessing I'm still going to have to convert the files, which is fine - but does anyone know of software better than Meridian to do so?
It's funny, I watched the entirety of Clerks on my LG Voyager (after converting it to 3gp or whatever that weird format was), and doing that seemed simpler than watching videos on my DInc. As an aside, we were watching the iPhone4 vs EVO video on my fiance's MotoDroid, standing outside a VzW store talking it up with an old co-worker of mine from when I used to work there, and the video froze. She shut it off, then turned it back on, and it started power cycling (M loop, whatever you want to call it). I spent 3 hours digging through forums looking for a way to recover her phone without factory reset, couldn't get anything to work, so we factory reset and it continued to power cycle. Totally bricked. Anyone know if this is normal?
We already ordered a replacement phone for her, as it was stock to begin with. Just find it rather weird, especially since it had happened shortly after we installed the latest version of LauncherPro on her phone. I guess the inner-troubleshooter in me is determined to figure out the cause-- especially if LauncherPro and/or YouTube interacted funny, I thought it'd be a really useful thing to give to the developers.
