Having to go in settings/storage everytime you wanna safely unmount your USB OTG drives is quite annoying... Is there a way to get a shorcut for that (widget or else) on JB and former Android versions?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm looking for an app or widget or shortcut or something that will force the phone to lock. Right now the phone locks after 10 minutes. However, if a situation arises where I need to lock the phone immediately there's no option to do that. There is an option under Settings to trigger on power button push. I'm not a huge fan of that since I use the power button to switch off the phone when I don't need it (to save battery). If nothing exists I might try the power button option.
I have a Verizon Motorola Droid Bionic with Android version 4.0.4.
Right now I'm using the Pattern Lock for my Note 2. Using Elixer2's single widget set to enable/disable the pattern lockscreen, it seems to randomly work. I've made sure to allow admin rights to Elixer2.
I'd like to be able to lock the screen when at work, and not have it enabled when at home.
The Elixer widget is very random. Sometimes it'll work, sometimes it'll work after a delay, after I try to open some apps, etc.
App that will allow me to create a shortcut or a widget that with one click will let me connect to and run a command on a remote Unix server? I've been trying to get it to work with the widgets from android term emulator pro but haven't got it working yet.

I downloaded Beautiful Widgets (totally awesome, by the way) and I just want to confirm how the GPS toggle widget works since it seems to just be a shortcut to a setting in the OS as opposed to the wifi and Bluetooth toggle widgets which do their own thing. When you tap the GPS toggle widget it, it takes you the "location & security settings" part of the OS settings. I'm assuming that at this point you either check/uncheck the "Use GPS satellites" to turn on/off the GPS chip in this phone? Can I leave it unchecked and just before I need to get some directions or navigation, turn it back on? What I'm getting at is: Can I turn it on and off according my need for it at any given moment?

So i recently went rooted and now im wondering if there is a way to unmount the SD card once i have it mounted to my pc using the usb cable. Reason i ask is that i usually charge my phone thru usb and sometimes i move files in and out of the device, but want to test said files without having to remove the usb cable and plug it back in to unmount the SD card.

When i looked around and found out that i had to make a new folder called SD on the card. So after doing that it would stay at the Loading screen. I could Back button out of it but then it would say i have no pictures. Then for some reason i decided to reformat the card. Bad move. After i went to setting >unmount> then format, i cant get it to mount the card again! I dunno what to do

Various parts of the Android system or Android apps are designed to launch a program, but aren't capable of launching an application shortcut. For example, they're willing to run a timer application, but they aren't willing to run its "start timer now" shortcut. One example is the samsung ICS lock screen, which is neat in other respects but suffers from this really lame limitation.
Is there an app that can be configured to run another app's shortcut? For example, I could configure the lock screen to launch "Fast Shortcut Helper", and fast shortcut helper will have already been configured to run the "start timer now" shortcut.
This question might be specific to HTC phones, but I'm not sure. I have various bookmarks for sites with decent webapps that I'd like to have as icons on my homescreen. What I would like is for their icons to be specific to the site (like iOS or BlackBerry), but instead what happens is I get the ugly red HTC Sense bookmark icon for each of them. Any way to get the site-specific icons to appear (or if it's even possible)?
