App that will allow me to create a shortcut or a widget that with one click will let me connect to and run a command on a remote Unix server? I've been trying to get it to work with the widgets from android term emulator pro but haven't got it working yet.

This is all well and good....but there are no shortcuts to do anything on these apps. Whatever you are trying to do on your computer takes way too many screens/clicks to be truly efficient by using your phone. You most certainly are able to do it with your phone.....but hell...it was way more complicated than it had to be.

I would LOVE to just touch a shortcut on my home screen that would send a couple of keystrokes to my computer. Or telling my computer to open a particular program from a shortcut created on my android phones Home screen. This would be amazing. I could tell my computer to run whatever task from my phone QUICKLY...without having to jump hoops through screenshots/mouseclicks/keyboard on VNC app's......
Using this, you would no longer need all these separate video/music player control apps...you could just wire hotkeys/scripts to be run to control ANYTHING. I could send a keystroke to minimize/maximize a window....pause iTunes....Give a song 3 star rating....open a particular site...
I'm just trying to turn my phone into a much better remote for my computer.....all current apps seem to fail horribly.
Having to go in settings/storage everytime you wanna safely unmount your USB OTG drives is quite annoying... Is there a way to get a shorcut for that (widget or else) on JB and former Android versions?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm looking for an app or widget or shortcut or something that will force the phone to lock. Right now the phone locks after 10 minutes. However, if a situation arises where I need to lock the phone immediately there's no option to do that. There is an option under Settings to trigger on power button push. I'm not a huge fan of that since I use the power button to switch off the phone when I don't need it (to save battery). If nothing exists I might try the power button option.

I have set up a cover page in ssLauncher to be a remote control for xbmc I'm already using xbmc's remote and yatse widgets and would like to find a (preferably vertical slider) widget to control volume, either through the web server or buttons to send ir frequencies.. One for each would be nice lol.
If such a thing exists(?) I haven't been able to find it. All I can find is widgets to control the devices various volume levels. I can't think of any reason it wouldn't be possible...
Right now I'm using the Pattern Lock for my Note 2. Using Elixer2's single widget set to enable/disable the pattern lockscreen, it seems to randomly work. I've made sure to allow admin rights to Elixer2.
I'd like to be able to lock the screen when at work, and not have it enabled when at home.
The Elixer widget is very random. Sometimes it'll work, sometimes it'll work after a delay, after I try to open some apps, etc.
I am running SlimKat. I had to reset my phone to factory defaults, and now I cannot reinstall Nova Launcher Prime, which I paid for and installed before I restarted the phone.
When I open Nova Settings, and tap "Nova Launcher Prime", then the "Play Store" button, there is no option to buy or install, only an "X" where those buttons would be. When I tap that, the "Install" button appears, but once I tap that and the "continue" button on the blank app permissions popup, nothing happens - I just see the "X" button again. Yet Nova Launcher prime is still not installed.
Is there some workaround to allow streaming of Amazon Prime HD videos from [url]....?
I can stream Amazon Prime movies in SD with no problems at all, but when I try to stream any HD content, I get a window popup with the message:
'You can not playback this HD movie via the Amazon.com website. HD movie playback is limited to Kindle Fire HD, Xbox 360, PS3, Roku, TIVO or other Amazon Instant Video HD Compatible devices. Would you like to watch the Standard Definition version instead?'
I am starting to use my Asus Prime (with Android 4.0.3) to listen to music, and for that I am trying to use and sync it with my PC music library, as I always did with my other player (Samsung P3), but I face some difficulties.
Global context : So, the source is my PC, on which I have all my music in FLAC (ripped all my CD some time ago).
I have Mediamonkey gold, updated latest version. When I plug my prime, two devices (MTP) are detected :
#1- Prime internal storage
#2- Prime MicroSD
I want to put all my music on #2, in a /Music folder, and convert it in ogg on the fly during the sync. To do so, I create a playlist in MM, and in the Sync properties of #2, I set the conversion choice, choose the playlist, and set the directory to use.
Situation:
- first, when I launch the sync, no matter if I have already music from a previous sync or not, it started re-writing ALL the music files on the prime (even if there are only 2 or 3 new files in the source playlist). As I sync more than 1000 music, this takes hours...
- then, for some reason I can't tell, it seems the sync is stopped at some point, because not all the music are then on the prime...only ~25%. As I launch the sync during the night (because it is very long), I don't see it happen. When I arrive in the morning, MM seems OK, the prime as well. Once I had a MM message telling that it could not write a few files (but only around 50... not 500...) and it does not tell why....
So you see my issues...
-It takes for ages because it does not seem to see the deltas in the playlist...
-It stops at some point, so I don't have all the music I wish...
moving along, I went and got myself an HTC One M8 and I'm absolutely loving it. My problem lies within accessing BlinkFeed through Nova Launcher Prime. The internet generally outlines the creation of a shortcut through Nova's Activities and applying it to either the home button or through gestures but MY problem comes when I enter into Nova Activities, scroll down to the list of HTC icons and "HTC Sense" is not listed. I've searched on both the default (BlinkFeed) launcher as well as Nova. "HTC Blinkfeed" is an option, but when I try to long press on any of the listed icons my "permission is denied".

Every time I re-boot the phone I get prompted to select the default "Launcher" or "Nova". Selecting "always" has no effect on subsequent re-boots. I have also tried numerous apps to set the default launcher without success and tried clearing the defaults for the "stock" launcher. Any manual way to correct this problem by manipulating the relevant files on the phone? This problem only started once I installed the 4.2.1 OTA update.

videoplayer.apk i tryed to take the one from my 7" and install on the Prime but it dident work. I haven't found any other media app that i found as good as the default one?
I have a asus TF300t transformer pad for 1 year, all has been good up to now, we were experiencing internet problems at home, but has since been fixed, rooter working well, wifi great , every device in house working apart fro my tablet, it has full wifi support but will not connect me to the internet , i tried the cold shutdown but that did not work, it keeps saying authentication error, or do i have a malfunction and take it to get fixed.

Its probably because its encrypted. I thought it would have asked for the password to access those areas to wipe them. So i just went ahead and flashed Cyanogenmod 10 nightly build. Now it wont boot past asus logo. Is there a way to flash a rom on an encrypted tablet?
