General :: Samsung Galaxy Y S5360 Is Stuck On Logo?
May 10, 2014yesterday, i tried to update my samsung galaxy y and cleared the factory settings , data, cache etc. and when i tried to reboot the phone it remained at the samsung logo and it has been there ever since.
i have tried installing odin but when i try opening it after installation, it flashes and close meaning that i can not access it. i have been on this since 5 am today and things just seem not to work out well for me
General :: Samsung Galaxy Y (GT-S5360) Rebricks After Unbricking?
May 4, 2012I have a Samsung Galaxy Y. I got it about 2 months ago and used a stock rom that wasn't from my region on it. It worked fine even with root till about 2 days ago. Then I decided to reboot my phone but it entered a boot loop. I flashed my region's stock rom on it (DDLA1) and then I updated it to the latest version (DDLC3). I thought that since it was using a stock rom it wouldn't get bricked but after rooting my phone again to restore all my apps and data using Titanium Backup it got an unexpected error but it wasn't even immediate. I got the error about 30 minutes after rooting my phone. The error, however, didn't stop my phone completely. It just force closed the app that I was using. But after I rebooted to put in my SIM card it entered the boot loop again.
Some extra info:
Since I'm using Go Launcher I uninstalled my Samsung Home screen, keyboard and any other apps that I don't need.
2) Is there any other way to back up and restore my device.
3) Could any of my previous attempts at unbricking cause this. It worked every single time but each time the same thing happened. It got bricked again after about 30 minutes after bricking. (That's 30 minutes of time that I used the phone. It didn't brick when my phone was sleeping for an entire night.)

Jul 31, 2012Yesterday i tried updating my android to Ice Cream Sandwich following some tutorial i found but i missed a step and didn't downloaded Clockworkmod Recovery or made any backup , and i think that USB Debugging is off because my pc doesn't recognize the phone ... I tried going into Android system recovery and clearing data and cache , and i tried with odin mode by pressing volume down, home and power but i got stuck on downloading screen for 2 hours so i gave up ... Now only thing left on my sd card is ics aura rom..

Jul 22, 2012Whenever i start my samsung galaxy y s5360 screen appears completely white like a flashlight, but the phone is working i can recieve callls on my phone but cannot see anything on my device. even in dwnld mode & recovery mode the same problem persits, i cannot see anything .
I have installed custom creed v2.0 rom on my android device. Recently i have replaced motherboard of my device. Under Warranty.
I Want To Flash stock rom on my device but i cannot see anything on my device so i am unable to flash my device.
Another problem is that when i enter download mode odin detects my device but when i try to flash the rom it says unable to open com port.
At Present my device is working properly but when i restart my device the problem returns !!!!!!

General :: Galaxy S4 Randomly Turns Itself Off And Goes Into Bootloop
Oct 16, 2013I got the phone from 3 UK on a contract in July, so phone's pretty new and not rooted or anything.
Yesterday the phone started turning itself off at random times quite a lot.
Battery could have been over 60%, at 30%, it was never with the same charge that it would happen, also never when doing the same thing on the phone.
Usually when it's about to turn itself off, I lose signal completely, then the screen just goes black.
When I try to turn it back on, it usually dies again at the 3 logo or even at the Samsung one and I have to try and turn it back on again. Sometimes I had to pull the battery out and connect it to the charger to make it boot up ok.
After a couple of times it did that, it started going into a bootloop when attempting to turn it back on again after the random shutdown. Phone wasn't hot either.
It had happened a few days before but just once not this many times in one single day.
I removed the microSD card, since it makes the phone think the device has been modified and won't let me update, but the microSD works fine in my old Samsung smartphone and even with that removed, phone still turned itself off and then went into a bootloop.
I think it might be the battery. Last time I was using the phone unplugged yesterday night, the battery went down to 33% charge in less than an hour and phone turned itself off. After managing to make it boot up again and connecting it to the charger, it was saying 60% charge. I doubt it could have gone up to 60% being plugged in just for a minute or so.
So, I can certainly take it back to the store and have them fix it or buy a new battery and see if it solves the problem.
Is it likely to be the battery that's malfunctioning?
Lots of people on the Internet seem to have this problem and a few mention a swollen battery. They replaced the battery and phone was fine after. Mine seems ok, but I can't be sure.
I don't understand why I seem to lose signal completely just before it switches itself off... it doesn't do it all the times, but a lot of the times yes.
I have other phones on 3 and they didn't lose signal completely and anyway in my house coverage has always been excellent.
I forgot to mention that once, while trying to restart the phone, I got this message, more or less: "Installing custom OS can damage your system or applications. Choose volume up to continue...". My phone's not rooted and I haven't installed any custom ROM!

Feb 14, 2014I have a problem with my sgy s5360 (rooted). i recently changed my lcd density in error and instead of the 120 default setting, I changed it to 288. that was really frustrating. I haven't been able to fix it myself. I have already done the factory reset but that didn't work. I used the ROM toolbox. Now my sgy is like in a zoomed state. Large fonts, cannot unlock and change to default setting. I cannot click the android icon that can be seen when you reboot your phone and did the factory reset. assistance is badly needed. i have browsed through the theads, but this issue has not been addressed.

1) Wifi worked great for a while, but now it says unable to scan for networks and turns the wifi off...this wouldn't be too bad if I had a big data plan but I do not.
2) Battery Life...fml
3) I cannot find ANYWHERE any supporting software to sync media files with my PC
4) The drivers will not install on my computer
5) Way too many apps are using data without me even opening them (navigation, yahoo mail etc...) I have AdvAppKiller but that gets old
It is wonderful having such a wonderful, fast device with 16 gb of memory, but these shortcomings are making me realize why I enjoyed a flip phone for so long.
Samsung Captivate :: Screen Turns Off Bringing Phone Out Of Sleep
Sep 14, 2010When I select the power button to bring the phone out of sleep the phone screen will turn off within a second or two. Is there a way to keep the screen on longer? If I press power and look away for a second the screen goes black again. Its liek I have to hit power and jump right on it to enter my swipe code.

Jan 28, 2010Dont know if anyone else has this problem, but during a call my touchscreen turns off, the proximity sensor stops the screen lighting up but even if i dont put the phone to my head the touchscreen stops working.
Buttons still work and i have to use them to use the dial pad. Really annoying when you are trying to navigate automated menus etc as half the time it doesnt work as they pickup too much noise from using the buttons on the front.

During a call, when I put the phone by my left ear, my ear and/or my cheek touch the screen, and though one would expect the buttons on the touch screen to be disabled during a call, when held against the ear and the face, I keep accidentally hanging up calls or in some other occasions, muting, having frustrated monologues to myself, thinking that the other person is ignoring me...
I mentioned using the left ear, because, it seems to have always happened when I held the phone by my left ear and not when I held it by my right ear.
I'm trying to find a more elegant solution, as dropping numerous calls is not an option. (today I dropped more than 15 calls). Any suggestions?
Samsung Captivate : WiFi Connection Turns Off When In Sleep Mode By Default
Jul 22, 2010I am new to smartphones and thought that this might be good for others who are new and don't have the unlimited data plan grandfathered in to know.
This was posted in reply to another question I had had about Pandora so the credit goes to poster MeVirtually.
By default the wi-fi setting is set to go to sleep (and use cellular data instead) when the screen is off, which will most likely happen while you are streaming music as well as other things. To change it so the wi-fi never turns off, to into the phone's menu -> wireless and network -> wi-fi settings -> tap the menu button and select advanced which has an option for wi-fi sleep policy that had been defaulted to sleep "when screen turns off". There you have the option to change it to "never" or "never when plugged in".
