Samsung Captivate : Phone Turns Itself On And Off / Way To Stop
Jul 28, 2010Anyone else have a problem where their phone turns off and on and off abd on... My does it about once a day. I have to pop the battery to stop the cycle.

Jul 18, 2010Anything you guys can think that could help? I've searched around, and found that holding down VOLUME DOWN and Power lets you hard reset the phone, but this doesn't work for me. I hold them down, and the phone just boots up like normal and then shuts off.I rooted it, and it was working fine. Rebooted a few times and then it quit working.

Sep 14, 2010When I select the power button to bring the phone out of sleep the phone screen will turn off within a second or two. Is there a way to keep the screen on longer? If I press power and look away for a second the screen goes black again. Its liek I have to hit power and jump right on it to enter my swipe code.

Aug 26, 2010I got the samsung captivate for AT&T a couple of weeks ago and have run into a few problems with it:
1) Wifi worked great for a while, but now it says unable to scan for networks and turns the wifi off...this wouldn't be too bad if I had a big data plan but I do not.
2) Battery Life...fml
3) I cannot find ANYWHERE any supporting software to sync media files with my PC
4) The drivers will not install on my computer
5) Way too many apps are using data without me even opening them (navigation, yahoo mail etc...) I have AdvAppKiller but that gets old
It is wonderful having such a wonderful, fast device with 16 gb of memory, but these shortcomings are making me realize why I enjoyed a flip phone for so long.
Samsung Captivate : WiFi Connection Turns Off When In Sleep Mode By Default
Jul 22, 2010I am new to smartphones and thought that this might be good for others who are new and don't have the unlimited data plan grandfathered in to know.
This was posted in reply to another question I had had about Pandora so the credit goes to poster MeVirtually.
By default the wi-fi setting is set to go to sleep (and use cellular data instead) when the screen is off, which will most likely happen while you are streaming music as well as other things. To change it so the wi-fi never turns off, to into the phone's menu -> wireless and network -> wi-fi settings -> tap the menu button and select advanced which has an option for wi-fi sleep policy that had been defaulted to sleep "when screen turns off". There you have the option to change it to "never" or "never when plugged in".

Sep 20, 2010i will be using my phone, set it down for a minute, screen turns off then the phone magically isnt on anymore. I have to do a battery pull to get it back on. The power button will not turn it on. any help anyone can give me its reallllly annoying update. So it was figured out that is was setcpu that was making the phone act weird, BUT now that there is an overclock kernel out that works(flashed and works perfect) how can i fix the issue of my phone randomly turning off?

Recently, when I was using the browser or anything that uses the 3g connection, it would just stop communicating and nothing would get loaded. Apr 13, 2010Tried rooting so I started off flashing r8 of bh_man's 1.6 rom. Went through the setup, odin turned blue to pass and I let the phone run past the android system and then the screen turned off.
Thing about it is that the phone is still being detected by the computer and odin. It's like my phone is on a screen lock but not responding to when I push unlock.
Ive tried every custom rom and each one does the same. I try to go back to stock and most of the time the program closes, when it doesn't I try to flash it and it goes through the process but goes on forever. One time I let the timer go on for 2 hours and it was still on 5/9 completed.

Samsung Moment :: Moment Intermittently Won't Respond / Wake Up When Receiving A Call
Jan 26, 2010I've already done the update but both pre and post update, my Moment intermittently won't respond when getting a call. The call comes in, I hear the ringtone but no matter what buttons I press, the phone won't respond. I have to wait until voicemail kicks in or the call has ended.
I called Sprint technical support and they're going to send a new (I hope it's new) phone. I hate to set up the phone for the third time. Is there a fix or should I just bite the bullet and get the new? phone? Has anyone had this problem?
What experiences have you had with replacement phones from Sprint?
Should I be worried about getting a lemon phone?

Aug 10, 2010Yesterday (08/08/10) my X10 said there was a new update available and to download correctly I needed to connect it to a computer update through PC Companion 2.0. I did this and followed all the on screen instructions correctly. I got to the final stage and it asked me to disconnect the phone switch it off remove the battery, reinsert and then turn it back on again. The instructions said it may take awhile for the phone to come back on again because the phone will be updating. So far my phone has not come back on again after 24 hours of waiting, all that happens is the sony ericsson logo is displayed for about 10 seconds and then the phone turns off then the same process is repeated. Any ideas whats happened or what I can do to fix this or will it be a job for Sony? I have emailed them but of course they were absolutly no help what so ever.

About 2-3 times a week, while on the phone, ill hear the start up sound of my eris, still talking to people on the phone, look and the eris has restarted, but im still on the phone. eventually it will cut off the call and finish starting up....has anyone had this problem. Jan 15, 2014I have a note 1 N7000, and each time the screen began flickering and after that it shut down. This got worse after flashing a cyanogenmod rom. By plugging in the charger the battery seemed empty, but wasn't. After a while the battery indicator used to show charged 70 % or more. Put the charger cable off and the situation repeated after a short time of usage. Last night it started turning off at boot and wouldn't turn on unless on charge. I flashed a original JB rom since the problem doesn't happen when on recovery/download mode. but now it does it even when connected on charge.

Jan 28, 2010Dont know if anyone else has this problem, but during a call my touchscreen turns off, the proximity sensor stops the screen lighting up but even if i dont put the phone to my head the touchscreen stops working.
Buttons still work and i have to use them to use the dial pad. Really annoying when you are trying to navigate automated menus etc as half the time it doesnt work as they pickup too much noise from using the buttons on the front.
