I have a Samsung S4 and it appears that there are some emails that keep coming through on my phone as "new messages" even though they are not so I keep getting notifications for them. It's quite annoying. It's not all my emails, just a few of them.

I am a new Droid owner as of yesterday. Great experience so far. I have learned a lot from this site, but have 1 question. Is there an app that will stop my emails from syncing at night? I want to keep the text notification and ringer up, I also want my emails to sync throughout the day. Thought this might be the easiest way but could not find one.

I had been in and out of 3G coverage all day and on Wi-Fi networks 5 times...
I unchecked the "sync" icon on the settings widget, and it seems to be working OK now, but this hasn't ever happened on any of my other Android devices.
I just purchased Touchdown by Nitrodesk (incredible app) and was curious how to get the Droid to stop syncing my emails, etc. through their own method? Please be specific with step-by-step instructions of how to disable my corporate account. I only want to have emails going into the "email" folder that are from my personal email moving forward.
View 6 Replies View RelatedToday when i woke up none of my e-mails synced overnight, nothing on my work account(exchange) and 3 verizon accounts. I didn't change the settings. I can manually sync by touching the sync button at the bottom of the e-mail screen but nothing is updating automatically, and when i do i do nothing pops up in the notification bar up at the top to let me know new mail has arrived?
View 2 Replies View RelatedDropped my Samsung S2 into water and it was not at all salvageable. To my shock I wasn't using a micro SD nor are my data as SYNCED at I thought they were - basically I lost all my contact numbers. I borrowed another S2 so I'm still using Android.
My question is, in order not to lose all my painfully re-built-in-progress contacts, how do can I save numbers that will be synced to my gmail account? here's my actual question:
I was asked where to save the new entries I put in, thinking in terms of syncing I chose to save to google. HOWEVER, google synced with the existing contacts i have with GMAIL. I.e. I can't locate a friend's contact card without having to dig through a WHOLE list of email addresses, e.g. some random inquiry email address that was a one off and i will NEVER use again.
HOW can i separate the two? My objective: save contacts somewhere which can be autosynced so my contacts can be retrieved in case phone dies again/to make it available for syncing on any new device/just as a reassuring back up - WITHOUT mingling them with gmail contacts (i.e. pure email addresses not phone numbers) .
Another observation, if you are still reading, a friend sent me some contact cards via whatsapp, and despite having chosen to save contacts by default to google (instead of sim/SD), those contact cards are saved on the phone. What's my best option? Thinking of getting S4 and seriously, manually putting everything in again is unthinkable, almost an insult to smartphones...
If i may side trek further, when i lost all my data, my calendar events were the only thing I have "sync-saved". For whatsapp history (from where ppl who thought i used an iphone said) it is saved on icloud so all the conversations will be kept intact AND from whatsapp u can make out a lot of the numbers. Instead for android there's not syncing with a cloud for whatsapp, now I have fired up whatsapp again I get these "Shell" group chats with no history and just several numbers which i dunno who's who. If android users can benefit from background saving of whatsapp history ONLINE (and not inside the phone i.e. like me lost when sth abrupt happens?)

1.)I have a gmail account already on the phone and linked up.. but the email to it is somewhat complicated so i created another account via gmail.com (on the computer) and im having trouble having the phone connecting to the server and hosting the account.i think this might be a temporary google issue.
2.)I just got into a group at school that requires me to have a calendar.so i tried to creating all of my dates and times on my phone and then syncing it but apparently i had "My Calendar" checked so it won't go do i have to start over? and will it work this time?
3.)I just now decided that i also want to sync my contacts to my gmail account, but i already have 150+ contacts in my phone.I understand that you have to select save to "google" as opposed to "phone" when saving a new contact my question is... do i have to manually go through all 150+ contacts and change this? or is there another way to sync them?
I am a teacher and we have just bought 15 SG Tab 2 10.1 for my class running 4.1.1. It is a right pain downloading an app every time I want to use one and I am either having to ask the children to download the app to each tab individually or go into play store on PC where I can select each tab individually and send the app. Neither of these are ideal and I'm looking for a way of managing and sending an app to all the tabs in one go.
This seems to work with iOS as when I download an app or take a pic on my iphone it appears instantly on my ipad via iCloud so there must be a way of doing this but I'm a bit stuck.
I see my phone contacts have synched with my gmail contacts, which is good. Except that only the email addresses are visible. Not the phone numbers. I have checked on the Accounts and Sync settings for the gmail - and it is set to transfer all (all boxes are ticked).

My phone's stock gmail app will show new emails so I look at them and then they are all read, showing 0 new.But when I login to the web browser version, 5 minutes or even later(up to hours later), the web browser gmail is not updating to show that I already read the emails.I'm on JH2. So maybe it is a bug with the firmware?Or maybe a setting got changed but I'm not seeing how to handle the issue.

I can not receive emails on either of my accounts without manually going into my phone and hitting "load messages". I have set the emails to check every 5 minutes, but it doesn't notify me or open them until I manually do it. Love the rest of the phone

I use the default android email and k9 email and they both disappear. I also notice that I get only 1 email then when I check my laptop I may have 10 in the inbox. What's up with androids email? I love my epic but coming from a blackberry I can honestly say android email is crap. Does anyone know what to do or have this problem?

When I delete a email on the phone, it deletes it on my email server and deletes it on my office comp. I would like to delete them on the phone but have them remain on the office server. Run a few tests and basically, my gmail app shows unread emails in the counter, but hasn't updated the actual email list for at least a day Thinking about it, it may not have worked since I updated the firmware on Sunday.Any ideas anyone? One of my biggest peeves is that I can read, or mark as read, a message and then a few hours later it shows as unread again. I have 4 inboxes and this can really get confusing. View 1 Replies View RelatedI finally got my email up and running. Now two different times my mailbox simply emptied. The account was still there and fine, bu tthe emails just went back to 0/0. They are not in Trash, they are gone. I am not sure what I am doing to make the mailbox empty. I tried switching to K-9 but for some reason when I was using K-9 any attachments came in as dat files and I was unoable to view pdf's or Word docs etc when using K-9. Anyone deal with this yet?

As a past Blackberry user as well I have basic functionality needs of a email app and this may be the deal breaker. I have my Exchange account setup and working however when I open or select an email there is no option to move the email to a folder. So am I blind or screwed! My brother has an HTC Incredible and his has an option to Move. Did Samsung hide it?

There are a few things that im stop not 100% clear about and would like for you guys to shed some light on this situation for me.
1. What is Launcher Pro and how exactly is it used.
2. Is there anyway to get push notifications with emails and facebook. Im always having to check my email to see if I have any.
3. What happens when I fill up all 7 pages with apps? Will I not be able to download anymore?
I go to the trash icon on the email app and go to delete the emails from 2 weeks. It takes FOREVER to delete them all. And I still havent deleted all of them. I go to delete like 4 of them and it takes at least 10 seconds just to delete 4 of them.

View 3 Replies View Relatedi just got my behold 2 & was so frustrated about not being able to delete all my unwanted emails all at once...what a terrible feature not to have. but i found the solution...just go to market & download the "K9" application & it's done. you can select all emails, then delete AND they don't go to a "junk" folder...they are gone for good. maybe everyone knows about K9 already but i just had to share this wonderful information for anyone encountering this!!

I just got a Fascinate yesterday (was a former Blackberry user) and was wondering if there was an option to delete emails from either or / both the phone and/or email? Blackberry used to have a sync option that when you selected "Delete" it asked if you wanted to:
Delete from handheld device
Delete from PC
Delete from handheld and PC
To clarify, I have a Gmail account but don't use it as my primary email, if at all. I have a personal Comcast account and a work email.
