I'm trying to get Facebook profile pictures assigned to internal phone contacts, but cant get it to work. I installed the recently updated Facebook app, at the first launch it asked me if I want to sync my contacts, I selected Sync with exisiting contacts (later I selected Sync all since first option didnt work) but still profile pictures are not being fetched. I can now see facebook contacts in my main contact list, and I can link them with my phone contacts (manually), but profile picture is still blank. When I click the View profile (facebook) link of a particular contact I'm taken to my profile page instead of the person i clicked on. And when I select Edit and go to Facebook tab there is an error with an exclamation mark with the message "Unable to edit SNS contacts on phone".

So in preparation of this coming, is there anyway to sync hangouts with Facebook contacts? My biggest issue is that I want the Facebook pictures of the person I am talking to to show up in hangouts similar to how it does/did in the text messaging app.

I have a Samsung galaxy s4 and Facebook chat heads used to work when I was not on an application like android forums etc they would work on my desktop, however now they only show up when I am using an application and will not show up on my desktop.

I recently upgraded to a Samsung Galaxy S3, and I am a little confused on how information for contacts is organized.
I saved all my contacts info on Google, so when I added my Google account to this photo, everything downloaded and synced up. Seems okay.
Because I find the Facebook app calendar syncing feature to be less than adequate (for example, I like having higher resolution pictures display on this large screen) I downloaded a third-party Facebook contacts sync app. Works great.
Now, I have several contacts that are both Google and Facebook contacts. At least one of my Google contacts has a Google picture that that person has uploaded which is different from their Facebook picture that is syncing tocmy phone. Do I have the option to select which picture displays? I thought that selecting default information for the contact would work, but I don't seem to have that option there.
I guess another way of asking this question is how Android decides which picture to display when there are both Google profile pictures and Facebook picture synced on a phone. SCH-I535
I just got my galaxy S5. I synced the phone with my facebook , now I have all my facebook friends in my phone contacts but I CAN NOT edit them and add their phone number !!!
I looked everywhere on the internet and I didn't find anything ! How can I edit and add phone number to my synced facebook friends in my galaxy s 5 contacts ?!?!?
Has anyone been able to get their contacts to sync with their facebook profile picture? I finally got the account synced or so it says, and if Im in contacts and click on the far right tab I can see everyone's status but none of the facebook profile pics have been applied.

However, I'd prefer to keep the name I already have for them on my phone. For example: Say I have "Jon" saved on my phone. His facebook profile name is Jon McJonjon. When I link the profiles, now his contact will read Jon McJonjon. I'd prefer to keep the name I previously had for him as his contact name. Any way to prioritize which profile you're linking is the main contact name that shows up under the contacts list?

View 16 Replies View RelatedI just got my Desire a few days ago, and so far i am very pleased with it (coming from a Nokia N95 8GB). I do find the contact handling somewhat counter intuitive however. For example , i have some contacts from facebook for which i have no other contacts created, but i need to add additional information (in particular phone numbers). I do not seem to be able to add information to a facebook contact. Do i really need to manually create another contact, then manually give it the same name and then link it to the facebook profile in order to have a place to add the phone number?

View 6 Replies View RelatedSo today i was looking at my contacts and i noticed that anyone who has a facebook account and is linked to my contacts, has 5 linked contacts in their info. thos 5 linked contacts all being repeats of the facebook contact. its like each contact is linked to itself 5 times. i tried deleting the extra ones but it says i cannot delete a read only contact and i tried displaying only my phone contacts and disabled contact sync with my facebook account but they are still showing up. any idea of what to do?

I'd like to use those pictures within my app where I access Contacts Contract. Phone Lookup. Do I really need the Facebook SDK to do that? I figured out how to get the picture from the phone to be the one used for the contacts, but three of them keep reverting to the facebook pictures and I can't figure out why.

So i was quite surprised to see that the facebook integration on the tattoo doesn't extend to importing Facebook Contact's phone numbers.
and the only way i know of to get them is through adding a 'live folder' to the homescreen through the official facebook app found on other android phones but not the tattoo Any ideas?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a question that I'm not sure if it's even possible since they are two completely different ROMS. I have been running BH-man's Galaxy 1.6 Rom R8 and have been loving it but the two things that have not been working is starting to become a factor and Im really needing Vibrate and the default BH2 camera features. So with that being said, I went ahead and made the switch to the Behold 2 1.6 with No Twiz, and is very fast and nice, minus a few features from the Galaxy rom. Now, I have been wondering if its even possible to have the Dialer & Contact interface from BH Mans Galaxy 1.6 added to this default ROM without it messing anything up. If that is possible, would a pullpush the two files over to the 1.6 no Twiz Rom work? I know that at one point BH_Man has done this in the past but it was based off 1.5 I believe.

I have a problem with Facebook application (not Facebook for HTC Sense - I want to avoid using this one) and the way it syncs peoples' pictures in the contact list. The problem is that some of the pictures are missing. I know for sure these persons have profile pictures set, but for some reason my Facebook app doesn't sync them. I double checked the "Link" menu, it shows that the phone book entry is indeed linked with a facebook account. The picture dropdown list also shows an empty person outline next to "Facebook".
I'm using Virtuous Affinity ROM 2.05 on HTC T-Mobile G2.
