Is there any way to combine the contacts on your phone (or sim depending on where you keep them) with the correlating facebook contact?
So, taking the contact with the name and the number that you would, for instance, create when saving a number and then merging it with the facebook contact to have all the contacts information in one place?

Removed facebook app and facebook account from Settings-Account and Syng...rebooted phone.
- Enabled Wifi
- Went to Settings-Account and Sync.
- Added facebook account again with SNS settings (syns interval) set to once a day.
- Made sure I saw the two arrows in the white cirkel spinning around indicating sync.
- Held my finger down to the home screen for 2 seconds to add a Android widget - Power control.
- Enabled Sync (the two arrows in the white cirkel spinning around indicating sync)
- Went to Contacts.
- Pressed Menu - Get Friends
- Next screen showed me my facebook account- Pressed it
- NOW I saw ALL my facebook contacts on my screen!
- Clicked CHOOSE ALL and then syn/save
- Checked in Contacts - Menu - Display Options,. that my Facebook account was checkmarked!
is there any way I can link my facebook contacts with my phone contacts, so if they appear in my phonebook,and I have them as a friend on facebook, their display picture will become their contact image on the galaxy s?I want facebook to be intergrated into the phone, although I dont want to add all of my friends into my phonebook (500+!) as I dont have a number for a lot of them, and wouldnt want have a need to call a lot of them.

I saved all my contacts info on Google, so when I added my Google account to this photo, everything downloaded and synced up. Seems okay.
Because I find the Facebook app calendar syncing feature to be less than adequate (for example, I like having higher resolution pictures display on this large screen) I downloaded a third-party Facebook contacts sync app. Works great.
Now, I have several contacts that are both Google and Facebook contacts. At least one of my Google contacts has a Google picture that that person has uploaded which is different from their Facebook picture that is syncing tocmy phone. Do I have the option to select which picture displays? I thought that selecting default information for the contact would work, but I don't seem to have that option there.
I guess another way of asking this question is how Android decides which picture to display when there are both Google profile pictures and Facebook picture synced on a phone. SCH-I535
I just got my galaxy S5. I synced the phone with my facebook , now I have all my facebook friends in my phone contacts but I CAN NOT edit them and add their phone number !!!
I looked everywhere on the internet and I didn't find anything ! How can I edit and add phone number to my synced facebook friends in my galaxy s 5 contacts ?!?!?
Is there a way to selectively sync Facebook contacts to my phone? I have roughly 1000 Facebook "friends" but only 300 are really friends and family and the rest are mainly gaming friends for games like Mafia Wars, etc. and I don't want to sync those. I want the Facebook contacts who I personally know to show up when I use the contacts icon on the home screen. I would like to sync them but I'm afraid it will import the list and I would have to manually delete them.

I was curious, can you link your contacts to people's Facebook pages like HTC can? The thing I like most is having their profile picture show when they call, rather than the standard Android logo. If someone can answer as soon as they can, that will be great seeing I will be picking up one of these phones tomorrow!

I'm trying to get Facebook profile pictures assigned to internal phone contacts, but cant get it to work. I installed the recently updated Facebook app, at the first launch it asked me if I want to sync my contacts, I selected Sync with exisiting contacts (later I selected Sync all since first option didnt work) but still profile pictures are not being fetched. I can now see facebook contacts in my main contact list, and I can link them with my phone contacts (manually), but profile picture is still blank. When I click the View profile (facebook) link of a particular contact I'm taken to my profile page instead of the person i clicked on. And when I select Edit and go to Facebook tab there is an error with an exclamation mark with the message "Unable to edit SNS contacts on phone".
View 3 Replies View RelatedI had a Motorolla SLVR L7, now I've got my Galaxy S Captivate.I was able to get my contacts from the L7 onto the sim, and the Captivate seems to be reading the sim contacts just fine.I then imported from my Sim card onto my Captivate's internal memory.I had assumed that this would allow me to sync up those contacts into my Gmail, so that I can do manual backups and have a keyboard/mouse to manage them.Except they aren't being loaded into my gmail.

-can you copy this phone book file, complete with all of its contacts, photos etc.to your external sd card? When you export your contacts is this what you are doing?
I've got a Galaxy S and am really pleased with the phone generally except the contact management is really frustrating. In particular I can't seem to sync my Google contacts groups. The contacts themselves sync ok but they are all grouped under Google in the groups dialogue. There doesn't seem to be any way for me to add them to groups I create on the device or to get the groups that are in my Google contacts to display. Annoyingly if I try to create a group on the device with the same name as a group in my Google contacts it tells me that a group of that name already exists even though it won't display that group on the phone.

View 12 Replies View Related'Sync' is switched on on my phone so I don't know why I need to manually upload my phone contacts from my SD card then attach them & email them to my google account.I just tried to attach phone contacts from SD card to a Gmail to send to my gmail account then log into my PC & import that file into my gmail account from there, but it will only let me attach photos So I tried emailing as an attachment from phone using my yahoo account.That does allow me to attach contacts but it sits there without actually attaching them !I just found I need to tick all contacts to get to attach. So I have to check 200 ticks as there's no check all option !So one by one I tick all & gets sent as 200 attachments in an email.So then download to PC hard drive.Then in Gmail import contacts I have to browse for vCard files. However I can't select all so have to manually browse for each vCard file then import one at a time.There's no option in contacts to select a contact then 'Star in android'.I presume if somethings starred in Android then the sync between phone contacts & gmail should work properly. Even then if you add new contact to phone there's no option in the phone to star it. Code...
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a Galaxy S4 and I synced all my contacts from Facebook with that of my phone. My idiotic sister logged out of my account without my permission, logged into hers and left it like that. Now my facebook account wont sync with my phone contacts again. Everytime i go to my contacts, tap on options and go to 'accounts' and select my facebook from the list of accounts i've added, the 'sync now' button works but when I click on it it says 'sync disabled'.
I went onto my FB app and looked for account sync options but I couldnt find any.
Am I the only one having this problem? I purchased my samsung epic a week ago and every since I've been getting the message that my facebook contacts is unable to syn at the moment an error of some sort,and too try later.WTH? My facebook calender syncs but not the contacts.I thought that it was th phone so I took it back to the sprint store they restarted my hard drive but it still didn't work,thy sent me to the repair center at another store and the general manager told me to go back and tell them to replace the phone and that I shouldn't be having issues so soon. Well I did that,they gave me a new phone and guess what.yep u guessed it,still the same issue.I went back to the repair center they played with it for 2 straight hours while I waited impatiently and still I walked away with the same problem. View 26 Replies View RelatedI got my DroidX on 7/15 and on 7/16 linked all my phone contacts who have facebook to a facebook contact via social networking. I kike how the phone sets the picture, I like that in the contact entry it shows me thier status on facebook. What I don't like is that when I open up a contac that is both a phone contact and a facebook contact and I tap the facebook icon on the contact screen I get 3 options (view profile, write on wall, and poke). If I open up a contact that is only facebook and tap that same Icon I get 4 options (view profile, message, write on wall, and poke). Is there some reason linking the facebook contact to a phone contact needs to remove that option? I'd like to be able to send a facebook message from the phone to any contact as easy as I can send a text message.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have configured my Samsung Galaxy S using my normal Gmail account. This has helped me to sync the Google Contacts with my phone.
Following are my questions:
1. Right now I have about a thousand google contacts synced to my phone. I want to remove them at one go. I know how to disable them from being appearing in contact list, but I want to know if I can delete them without going to factory settings.
2. I am using three applications (a) Gmail (b) Contacts (3) MVOIP. I want to know if there is a way that following combination works:
a- Google contacts appear on Gmail app
b- Google contacts (with phone numbers) and normal phone contacts appear on "Contacts"
c- Google contacts (with phone numbers) and normal phone contacts appear on "MVOIP application".
I know how to do
(a) - By synchronising google contacts,
(b) - by choosing display options
(c) - I do not know how to handle this and I want help.
In Google Contacts I've entered birthdays and subscribed to the "Contacts' birthdays and events" calendar in Google Calendar.They show up as intended in Google Calendar but in my phones calendar they're all listed twice. Unsubscribing from the contacts birthdays calendar makes both disappear, so they're not from some other calendar.Is this a bug in the Galaxy S calendar? Any solutions?

And I want to transfer all my phone contacts across. On my Xperia, I've got "Phone contacts", and gmail contacts. I tried to import all my phone contacts by first exporting them to a simgle file, and transferring that file to the Samsung. And now I've got this vast list containing, it seems, everybody who I've ever called or emailed, including various names who I don't recognize at all. Is there any way (maybe a specialized app) of keeping my phone contacts and gmail contacts separate? And how do I manage my vast list of contacts?

View 7 Replies View RelatedEveryone I see who has the Motorola Droid has there Contacts linked to Facebook by default it seems. On the my Moment it doesn't do this. I figured it was because I was running 1.5 and the droid had 2.0.
I've updated to 2.1 and still Facebook doesn't sync at all for the Moment. Does the Moment not do this for some reason? Only Verizon network? Kinda confusing that the Facebook app doesn't do the same thing. I have tried going to Accounts and Sync and tried adding Facebook as new account but nothing happens. Once you click on Facebook it kicks you back to the previous screen.
I also installed SyncMyPix but not really what I wanted and Synced a lot of them incorrectly.
Anyone know a way to sync this?
