View 1 Replies View RelatedAlright, so I recently purchased the droid and I am looking to put in on Boost CDMA for their unlimited plan.I can pull the PRL off of a boost phone that I am using right now (I think) and have an esn of an old boost phone can I can use for a switch so it is recognized in the database. I own both phones so I don't see any issue with this.My question is; is rooting the phone necessary for this to work. I would think so, but I am not sure. I have seen people flash the droid over to cricket, virgin, page plus, metro pcs, so why not boost mobile?I am just looking for some feedback from people more knowledgeable than me. This is my first android phone, so I am quite ignorant in all things android. I flashed an HTC TP2 over to boost, so I am hoping I can do the same with the droid.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI had my LG Optimus rooted successfully using Motochopper but I ended up getting a update and it removed the root, I re-ran Motochopper like five times and not a single was successful so I'm assuming that update patched the exploit.
Is there anyway I can root it other than Motochopper or anyway I can get Motochopper to work again..?
I am working on Mobile forensics. I need to access locked android phone system files without USB Debugging enable.
For accessing System files, I need to root android but it is locked with pattern lock or passcode (USB Debugging Disabled).
If i'll flash the mobile, it will change the filesystem which is not forensically sound.
if i'm able to clone the mobile (bit to bit copy) for further forensics.
is there any way to root new cherry mobile phone OMEGA ICON?
View 3 Replies View RelatedThis is probably the easiest and quickest method to ROOT your Cherry Mobile Flame 2.0/ Karbonn S1 Titanium.
STEPS:
1. Download ZIP File for rooting in the attachments below
2. Connect your device to a pc and copy and paste the ZIP file you just downloaded to the external card on the device. (it really does not matter if your phone is in USB debugging mode or not.)
3. Disconnect the device from the PC safely and turn it off.
4. Hold the volume up key+ power button at the same time until a green screen appears. (this is the fastboot mode) Keep holding until screen turns red (recovery mode) and release to enter stock recovery.
5. Navigate using hardware buttons (power to confirm selections) and wipe cache partition and factory reset data.
6. select "apply update from external SD card" and navigate to where you pasted the ZIP file for rooting.
7. Confirm the ZIP file selection and wait for the process to finish.
8. Reboot the device.
Your phone should now be rooted. the super user app should now be visible in the app drawer of the device.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI just got boost after having at &t for years... Got the phone and naturally put in my SD card from the old phone into the new one....pictures showed right up in the gallery and tonight i went to put hubs picture as his caller i.d. And my pictures weren't there!!! I had downloaded an SD file manager seeing as i couldn't see anything else besides my pictures and videos from the old phone. I found the pictures in the lost.dir file and they're turned into read only files!! I tried everything to get them back to pictures but to no avail.... I'm really upset because i have the final pictures of my grandma on there before she passed away in January....
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a Ascend P1 running ICS 4.0.3, and while the phone is amazing (much better than my previous Vodafone Smart II ), it has two issues that really bother me, first is the touchscreen not being calibrated correctly, I'll try to describe it properly.
In the middle of the screen everything is fine, but towards the bottom and top edges the touches are not exactly where my finger is, at the bottom the touch is registered a little lower from where my finger actually is, and at the top it's the inverse, the touch is registered a little higher, and this "offset" increases as the touch aproaches the edges of the screen, kinda like the sensible area is smaller than the screen but is mapped to the whole screen.
And the second is the audio volume, it's too low with the headphones.A couple days ago I tried a Jelly Bean rom (supposedly from the manufacturer) and this two issues where gone, but on the other hand brought some others that are not the case right now.
how can I address these two issues?

View 10 Replies View RelatedI've noticed when playing music, whether through the music player or Pandora, I can't get the volume up to those ear-splitting levels I sometimes prefer. One workaround, at least for my local music files, would be to rerecord them in Audacity and increase the general volume there, though this would result in some distortion. I would prefer to have a way to increase my Hero's volume past the normal settings. I've searched the market but couldn't find anything that actually "boosts" the volume. Does anyone know of anything?

(is also quiet after uploaded to YouTube etc.) Is there a way to boost the sensitivity of the microphone? Sound is also very quiet when using one of the voice recorder apps.
