I've had 4.3 on my phone now for about a month. It is horrible, phone freezes a lot, and run very slow. Is there a way to roll back to the previous version?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI've bought this chinese clone of the SIII, it's a MT6575. It's great except for the internal storage, which supposedly is 500MB but there seems to be an invisible SD storage which is 2GB. It's really confusing... When I go to Settings -> Storage there are 3 memories: "Internal Storage" (claims to be 4GB but it's fake, it's actually 500MB), "Phone Storage" (claims to be 16.5GB but it's probably 2GB), and finally my SD, "SD Card" (32GB).
The thing is, I'm having problems downloading big apps because apps go to "Internal Storage" which is 500MB only, and which files are stored in the "Phone Storage" (maybe internal & phone are actually the same?). However when I go to Settings -> Apps, on the "Downloaded" tab, the apps are in "Internal Storage" (500MB), and on the "On SD Card" tab, it shows that apps are in "Phone Storage" (the ones I moved to SD). This means my 32GB SD isn't being used by the system when I send apps to SD probably.
Also, my 32GB SD card is found in /mnt/sdcard2, and the /mnt/sdcard... I don't know which storage is that.
So basically all this is happening because I tried to Link2SD with my 32GB SD doing all the 2 partitions stuff and so, but Link2SD never detects the "secondary SD" which is the 32GB SD, as this fake SD card, "Phone Storage", is probably what the programs thinks to be the SD card.
What now? I sure want to remove bloats and stuff, any easy way to do that? And what other "must-do" stuff is there to do? Performance boost? How? What are ROMS?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am using cm7 nightly on my galaxy ace, I have swap partition, ihave A2SDGUI and this script, catch to sd working, but swap not working.
How can I enable swap?
I rooted My My micromax A87 with XDA and I was Succeeded in It, and then I Partitioned my SD Card into three,(FAT-32 + EXT 3 + Linux Swap) with Parition Mini Tool.then I Installed Link2SD and Swapper 2 its all fine but microsd is too slow to Link and Swap because its (Class 4).but it run the temple run and some HD Games with Small Lag.
So I Experimented with other swap tools like "MemoryInfo & Swapfile Check and ROEHSOFT RAM-EXPANDER (SWAP)"and then Uninstalled these. but there is the problem starts. Now in my A87 it shows a swap cache always on. I opened adb shell and look for free.
I wonder that there is a swap file generated around 50 MB but I cant see it in my External SD or Internal Memory. So I Removed my SD Card and then check again, Still I see the same swap value 50 MB.
My Internal memory has no change in the value (available space not reduced) it looks like the same value before I Install the MemoryInfo & Swapfile Check + ROEHSOFT RAM-EXPANDER (SWAP).
I just got boost after having at &t for years... Got the phone and naturally put in my SD card from the old phone into the new one....pictures showed right up in the gallery and tonight i went to put hubs picture as his caller i.d. And my pictures weren't there!!! I had downloaded an SD file manager seeing as i couldn't see anything else besides my pictures and videos from the old phone. I found the pictures in the lost.dir file and they're turned into read only files!! I tried everything to get them back to pictures but to no avail.... I'm really upset because i have the final pictures of my grandma on there before she passed away in January....
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a Ascend P1 running ICS 4.0.3, and while the phone is amazing (much better than my previous Vodafone Smart II ), it has two issues that really bother me, first is the touchscreen not being calibrated correctly, I'll try to describe it properly.
In the middle of the screen everything is fine, but towards the bottom and top edges the touches are not exactly where my finger is, at the bottom the touch is registered a little lower from where my finger actually is, and at the top it's the inverse, the touch is registered a little higher, and this "offset" increases as the touch aproaches the edges of the screen, kinda like the sensible area is smaller than the screen but is mapped to the whole screen.
And the second is the audio volume, it's too low with the headphones.A couple days ago I tried a Jelly Bean rom (supposedly from the manufacturer) and this two issues where gone, but on the other hand brought some others that are not the case right now.
how can I address these two issues?
I would like to know why swap size when partitioning is 0mb usually.
HTC Explorer A310e.
I just took over a second hand chinese android phone which appears to have swap enabled already.
The following is on the phone with SD card installed or removed completely
Terminal Emulator - Free - swap 196604 53036 143568
Diskinfo reports it as zram0 [swap]
The value of swap changes continually, so swap is active.
There is no swapper or any other swap app installed. How do I go about finding out how the phone is configured and if necessary undoing what was done and reconfiguring if necessary ?
I have bought a titanium s5 and I am facing a problem in installing big apps on my titanium s5 as it has only 1.4 gb internal memory. I don't want to root so how to swap internal sd card with external sd card without rooting.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI currently have a phone based on mt6577 where I started to modify the kernel to improve performance but I have a big concern about the swap. I want to enable zram.I turn on when I swap it ends up freezing the system reboots instantly or with a random delay. Kernel 3.0, 4.0.4 ICS
I tried to create a swap file system, the result is the same.I have been looking for a while or could be the problem but without result.
I have a problem with the swap partition on my device, Xperia arc. I flashed my device to "LT15i 4.1.B.0.431 Generic Global World" follow by this post. I found that lacking in memory so I tried to use swap partition and created 256 Linux swap partition on my SD card. But "free" commend still shows swap=0 However, I decided to use swapper 2. Still no effect and I couldn't get swap although swapper did its job without fail! After few days search I found that the kernel doesn't support the swap, So, I tried to use "Kernel.sin unpacked and added CWM options" form here. It also didn't work, neither "init.d zram scripts from wedgess" from the same page.

Camera needs storage0 (internal storage) to work properly for DCIM. But I have only storage1 (inserted microsd). In 2.3.6 swap sd was possible by editing vold.fstab. In Kitkat the opportunity has been denied.
I search for a way to make storage1 to storage0 in CM11. Whether CyanogenMod is working on it?
I have looked through forums on the internet and saw that it is possible to swap the internal for the external sd on the gs3. I wanted to now is it possible for the lg optimus l9? i have android 4.0.4. I have used directory bind to transfer some games to sd but my internal memory is like only 1.5 so i can install big games.
