General :: Removing Root From Stock ROM Zip?
Jun 5, 2014So I spent hours searching for the stock ROM for my HTC Desire 300, so that I could unroot it. Then I deleted the entire OS/Rom by mistake and was left with a brick. Finally, I managed to find this stock version. It's rooted, and has the same SuperSu error about updating. Is there any way for me to remove the root files from this zip? so that the phone won't be rooted when I flash the rom? Which files would I remove?
In the Zip I have the following items:
META-INF (Folder)
Boot (Disk Image File)
Recovery (Disk Image File)
System (Disk Image File)

Nov 20, 2013I have the specs of the tablets and it's come rooted so I can install busybox and superuser like I normally would. However it runs really slow as to what it should do.
Preferably I would like to put Cyanogen on them both however due to them being Irulu tablets I have no idea if there are any ROM's out there that would work with them. how to back up the stock ROM so that I can flash that if things go wrong.

Dec 10, 2012I own the HCL ME U1 Tablet and I have flashed it with a custom ROM as told HERE - [URL]. Two things:
1) get my device to recover to the original Stock ROM of ICS 4.0.3 and Kernel 3.0.8 (I have not made a backup of the stock ROM, that was the most stupid thing I've ever done!!!).
2) Which are the best ROM's to flash on the HCL ME U1 tablet and If yes, are there any available as of now?

Mar 23, 2012I rooted my nook tablet 16GB to 2.3 first and then installed android 4.0. But now I really need to get it back to its original state because I need that microphone and other stuff working.
Anyway, here I am stuck on the CWM-Based Recovery v5.5.0.4. It wouldn't let me install any zip file that I put it on my microSD card. It also says that the image file is corrupt when I choose to install from the card.

Apr 29, 2010I am having a problem with the stock keyboard on my Eris. I don't really like the HTC keyboard so I installed the vanilla keyboard and switched defaults and whatnot. However, some apps (like "setup" for example) switch it back to the HTC keyboard and then I have to go back into HTC Sense and switch it and everything which is a pain. I know that the easy answer is "don't use those apps" though I really just want a permanent fix for it. Anyway to do this?

Feb 7, 2010Everyone is always so concerned about unrooting, removing su, removing busybox, etc., and so-forth. Well, finally an extremely simply solution. Almost too simple. Go to the Market and install SholesMod Updater. Sure it's $5, but it does it all for ya. Just install the application like any other, then open it. Select "Stock 2.0.1 (No root)" and let it do it's thing. And no one is the wiser. Hope this puts some minds at ease.

Here are my questions: If I root the phone, I would not get OTA updates, when 2.2 came out? I would have to remove the root in order to get that OTA update to 2.2? Aug 20, 2010I rooted my phone for the first time yesterday. I have not yet flashed any ROM's, all I have done so far is remove some of the stock apps. I have lost my data connection a couple times today, usually a reboot will solve it, however it hasn't on one or two occasions. It seems to have started happening after changing my boot animation to something closer to the 1.5 boot animation. Is it possible that this new boot animation is causing my data connection problems.

General :: No Root Programs Can Access Permissions
Apr 7, 2014I just got a dopo 7" tablet from a relative and for the life of me cannot get it to root. I have been at it since 3-4pm (its 11:10 now) and no matter what apk or .bat rootkit, or windows root exe i have tried from old guides and some new ("can root ANY android device 2014!!!") to YouTube videos.
i have unknown sources checked debugging checked tablet never sleeps/screen never shuts off have it plugged into laptop via the cable the tablet came with usb to micro root master apk failed suggested root-rk29 tab rootkit each step it tried it could not find any of the necessary files needed on my tablet (even after 3 restarts and 3 different methods) root will try to restore data like the programs steps shows but as soon as it says restore started it immediately says restore ended and it gives an X in the circle and wants me to retry (tried 4 times)
tried doomlordz v4 rootkit and same as other rootkit it says the files arnt found and does the alternative methods and SAYS its completed but root checker still says its not
tried key root master mentions something about a cloud program but never roots superoneclick becomes unresponsive for 20mins and does nothing so i have to end task (some says it freezes their phone/tablet) but my tablet acts like nothing is happening.I have tried Googling multiple times only to find results related to 9" version.
I have about reached my limit of patience on this thing..I have 0 knowledge on rooting other than reading up why I would want it or the common steps which did not work obviously...

Dec 12, 2012I have a rooted android 4.0.4,LG Nitro HD. I installed too many apps in my phone. My problem is the programs and tasks which run in my RAM.
For example i dont want yahoo gmail facebook apps run in my memory and check my notifications automatically when internet is available. It seems good but i don't want it happen.
I just want to have these apps and run them whenever i need them. I tried to force close applications , but when i reset the phone all apps will run again some application like google+ or youtube dont close at all.
How can i manage my memory and apps in my favor ?
General :: Stop Android From Closing Programs On Its Own?
Apr 12, 2012As many of you know, back in October I had to make an emergency switch from Windows Mobile to Android. As you've all read in my posts, it has been a very "mixed" experience with both some impressive and downright pathetic discoveries, but one of the worst things about it (beside the complete inability to sync) is the way that Android closes your programs whenever it feels like it instead of letting you close them. Sometimes I'll be browsing the internet in Opera Mobile and I'll switch over to the email program briefly to check something, when I hold down the "home" key and pick OM from the list of recently used programs, it starts it all over again, and I know for a fact I didn't choose "exit".
Sometimes I'm glad Android "cleans up" (like if I back out of a program that has no "exit" option) because it saves me the trip to the task manager later, but is there any way I can prevent it from closing stuff I'm actually still using?
