Mod edit: I modified the title to make it clearer as this is not device-specific.

The sad thing is an error pops up when I try to stream videos saying it won't work on a rooted device(which my Note 2 is). I tried following the guide for HBO nordic [URL] but I couldn't find the function that would be similar to checkRoot() . how to find it?
I downloaded Eternity Warriors 2, started playing, then when I decided to play online, I can't play PVP because my device is rooted. I've tried a bunch of apps that hide root, or temporarily unroot, and this game somehow can still see it. All I can find online is Glu Mobile is doing this cuz they think a rooted device is capable of hacking their game.....even though it's server sided. Any way to bypass this, or hide my root from this game?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a Nexus 7 running 4.2.2 Jelly Bean, with an unlocked boot loader and rooted. Since the 4.3 versions are now officially out, I was wondering how I would update. Is there any special process? Can I just use the normal OTA update service built-in? Will doing that lose my root and unlock? If possible, I'd prefer the most risk-free method, as I don't want to mess up my Nexus.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI recently moved and had the opportunity to view my TV-channels on my phone. However it is required to have a device who is not rooted, and I don't really want to unroot just to view tv on my phone.
Any small program, script etc. which can tell the app that the phone is unrooted, even though it is rooted? My phone is a Samsung Galaxy Nexus, running stock unlocked and unrooted JB yakju 4.2.2.
I have a T-Mobile prism phone that has been successfully rooted with Lingo app android software. The version of the android app is as follows.
Android version 4.1.1
Mobile model Prism II
jbed 1.2 for Android
Libjbedvm.so installed in /system/lib. Rw Rw Rw
I installed Jbed successfully and rebooted prior to starting it. I keep getting the following error.
Unfortunately, java has stopped.
How do I resolve this issue? What java app can I download and from where to test it? I assume that the app must me a jar file to test it?
I'm asking this because HBO Nordic which recently became available in Scandinavia won't allow me to use my rooted ASUS TF101 for streaming. The HBO Nordic app says "Service is not available on this device because it has been modified."
I'm thinking one of two options might work:
1. Revoke one or more permissions
2. Modify build.prop
Permissions list can be seen here: [URL] .....
I should add that HBO Nordic works on my Galaxy Nexus which is currently unrooted but has an unlocked bootloader.
I have several android tablets, all but one (at this moment) are rooted. I am not interested in putting a custom rom on them at the moment (mainly because not all functions -like camera- are working on all devices) but I would like the ability to do a Nandroid backup that seems to be only available with custom roms. On one device I can't unlock the bootloader (Azpen A701), don't know about the unrooted one at this time (brand new Hisense Sero 7 pro).
Is there a way to add CWM to a rooted stock android (only root applied and associated superuser/busybox apps installed)? What are the requirements (unlocked bootloader?)? Where to get said CWM and how to install it?
Let me just start with that im new to rooting. So i have lost my root permission on my LG G2 but device is still rooted. I think it might be because i uninstalled superuser app. How to get root permission back?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have xperia s (st25a) phone with android 4.0.4.
I already have rooted it (SU installed) and bootloader unlocked. Fastboot reports the correct version "5".
However, when I try to install TWRP, it gives the following error:
>fastboot.exe flash boot stock-6.1.A.0.452-twrp-2.4.0.0.elf
sending 'boot' (8124 KB)...
FAILED (remote: The Device must be rooted first)
Why does TWRP think it's not rooted? I have setup SU to grant every root request too!
Another issue - when I try to enter recovery with stock image, my phone gets stuck on boot with Sony logo and I have to remove battery to shut it down. Why wouldn't stock recovery work?
i recently discover that i couldn't install google play services on my phone.when i try to install them it loads up to the end and when it says "Installing..." the following message appears:
"Incompatible with other application(s) using the same shared user ID"
When making an image I accidentally had Clockworkmod image be saved to the device itself instead of being saved to the external SD card.
I am able to browse to it using Root Explorer and select to Copy it, but how do I PASTE it onto the external SD card when Root Explorer only accesses the device directory and not the external SD card?
Quick 2nd question: I know on some previous devices such as the Galaxy S 4G you were *not* supposed to run Clockworkmod after booting in and from the Apps Drawer, instead you were only supposed to run directly from the startup screen before booting in. Is it OK to actually start the Clockwork Backup/Restore process from the Apps Drawer of the Galaxy S4 and let it reboot and do its thing or is it only supposed to be run BEFORE booting in?
i have rooted my Samsung Galaxy y duos lite[GT-S5302] , and installed jellybean 4.2 , i could not connect my device to computer and even Samsung kies displays : device is taking long time fo responding , how to reinstall 2.3.6 gingerbread ? or any other options?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have been rooted since shortly after 2.2 dropped and it broke the SiriusXM app. I love having the ability to do so much with the phone . My question is kind of specific to an application and general to the nature of a rooted device. I have been playing World of Warcraft for 5 years now and with the always present threat of being hacked and all of my in-game items, characters and account being stolen I added the mobile authenticator app as soon as it was available for Android devices. For those who don't know what this is, it is an app which you add to your in game account and will generate a key which you put in upon login that adds an extra layer of security to your account.
View 3 Replies View RelatedMy app has a certain piece of functionality that will only work on a device where root is available. Rather than having this feature fail when it is used (and then show an appropriate error message to the user), I'd prefer an ability to silently check if root is available first, and if not, hide the respective options in the first place.
