General :: Possible To Port Improvements In GPU / CPU Animations To CM9
Jun 29, 2012I'm interested whether it would be possible to port the improvements in GPU/CPU animations to CM9 as Adobe flash is not supported anymore in 4.1?

View 3 RepliesOne thing that SEVERELY bugs me about Android is that this "Google Experience" is better executed by other means and on other platforms than on an Android handset.
I've used the Moment and Hero - both 1.5.
My biggest problem is with Gmail - the app is pretty bad (IMO) - and if you want easier access and better features and UI you have to use the browser and go to the mobile gmail site.
I can't download or attach anything but a photo with the app. I can't copy/paste with the app (well technically I can but its execution is so tricky it's worthless). These things can be done on the mobile site.
Is the Gmail app improved with 2.x?
Does the inbox have nested folders now? Can you accept meeting invites?
View 15 Replies View RelatedHas anyone noticed improvements to the Hero camcorder video quality under Android 2.1? I thought I remember hearing that the upgrade might improve this. It's not a big deal, but I was hoping the recorded video would be smoother than the 15 fps under the 1.5 OS. I don't see a difference, but wanted to hear some other opinions.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI rooted my phone yesterday for the first time. It seems like the on-screen keyboard is back to the way it was before the 2.0.1 update. My typing is missing a lot of letters when I type fast and it isn't responding as well with multiple touches. Does rooting the phone take away the improvements from the 2.0.1 update? My keyboard was flawless before the root.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI want to set
Window animation scale 1x (default) to Window animation scale .5x
Transition animation scale 1x (default) to Transition animation scale .5x
Animator duration scale 1x (default) to Animator duration scale .5x
As default in my ROM. So users have 0.5 x in settings but can change it if they wish to.
ROM is 4.1.1 sammy base.

View 1 Replies View RelatedSince everyone says that 2.2 is a lot faster than 2.1, does that include the music player also?
I like the stock music player (although i have the incredible, so it is the sense music player), i like all the features it has (delete songs, playlists, full lock screen support, etc.
The only thing i don't like its that its way slow when going to the list (either artist, all songs, genre). I have over 2500 songs so i know this is the reason, but im just hoping that once we get the upgrade the speed will be more acceptable.
Other than that does anyone know of a third party app that has lockscreen art, and all the basic functionality of the stock music player but performs faster when viewing the list? I've tried all I could find, mixzing, doubletwist, museek, cubed, astro media player, vanilla music player, meridian, btunes, and some other ones I can't remember now but they all have something missing from the stock media player.
I just got a PC Metro Samsung Galaxy S3 RCH-940 Lightray Awesome phone compared to the apple I had for the last 3 yrs. Problem is it has started lagging very badly. I am trying to set animations to .5 or zero to speed it up. When I goto settings I do not see where the Developer Tab is so I can click on it and goto phone animations and change it.

Using Samsung Galaxy Nexus with Android 4.2.1, Stock ROM from Factory Image.
I made a report to Google. [URL]
Some examples:
- Open an app and let many windows behind, for example: Settings > More > Networks > APN > [Your APN]. Press the back button of the navbar several times faster. The animations are spoiled and the phone shows ugly effects. Or press the back button slowly, and in the middle of the animation press back another time.
- Open an app and press the Recents button. Press the Recents button another time, and press it another time when the animation is being showed.
- Enter in Recents, press home and immediately press Recents button.
- Enter in an app and press an option, and press faster the location of the next option you are going, and you know previously where it is.
I don't want to use Sense as my launcher or keep the stock lockscreen either (I use Apex and Widgetlocker).
*I just want a simple app that commands the HTC sense full screen weather animations.
Teslacoil was able to do it with HTC Sense 3.0 on gingerbread 2.3.3 and 2.3.4, but won't work on ICS/JB/Kitkat.
And after downloading almost all of the other lockscreen replacements, none of them have this functionality either.
No I'm not interested in beautiful widgets, Fancy widgets, or HD widgets animations.
So I flashed a boot animation and I want to remove it and us another boot animation that is not flashable and needs root explorer. So how do I remove it? Also, I have AOKP ROM for my nexus 4. I tried to apply another boot animation through the general UI, it shows the animation but it doesnt apply.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI was wondering if there is a way to mix and match animations. For example if you have a "skull and bones" unlock ring and you want the animation to be "the punisher" animation. Seem like there should be a way to put parts of each ring to get a mix. ADR6400L
View 2 Replies View RelatedI got an Android device specifically for Google integration, since my employer uses Google for 50% of our work (email, calendar, chat). Yet bizarrely, Android's Gmail app seems to be the weakest point of their platform.
IMHO (and please not let this become some kind of fanboy bashfest of someone trying to put in constructive criticism here):
The "Reply," "Reply All," and "Forward" buttons are very inconvenient -- at the bottom of the message, rather than a toolbar of some kind. This means that when I want to respond to one of those interminable email chains, I have to scroll past wads of old crap to reply. I've had intermittent success with forwarding attachments. It seems unpredictable when an attachment will forward and when it won't. Can someone shed some light into when it works? I suspect it has something to do with Outlook or other clients that attach files in non-standard ways. Very limited offline functionality. I would really prefer if there were an IMAP mode so I can review email while offline (e.g. on the plane or underground). Specific to the Droid: The D-Pad has so much potential, but instead all it does is jump from link to link in an email, which I do not find intuitive at all. At a minimum I'd think that the D-Pad would let you scroll; ideally, I'd like to see the D-Pad help solve the first problem described above (lack of access to the reply and forward buttons) so enough whining from me. I'd appreciate any solutions to the above (and "Shut up and deal with it" is not appreciated). It could be keystroke shortcuts I'm not aware of, apps that work better than the default Gmail program, pending app updates that take advantage of the Droid's unique hardware, etc.

I'd like to start porting a ICS rom from a Motorola Pro ( aka Droid Pro ) to the Motorola Pro Plus ( aka MB623 ).
My following question is this: Is this forum ->http:[url]...good for a tutorial on porting, or do i need to search for another one? ( I'm thinking that since the Pro Plus is the Pro's predecessor, it might be close enough so that the porting would not be so hard )
I've just started looking into porting ROMs (more specifically, ICS themes to Gingerbread), and I found a few tools that port the ROM for you. If it were really that easy, isn't it possible to port any ROM to any device?
