I was just thinking today and something came across me. Is it possible to call someone from the computer via android phone. I know theres a way to send SMS's from pc via phone, but is it possible with phones calls?

View 7 Replies View RelatedSo I know that there was a bug where you could answer a call through the lock screen but I am having an issue where whenever the screen goes dark with the proximity sensor, it locks the phone and I can't even change volume without sliding to unlock. I have to press a physical button for the screen to come back on and then slide to unlock to do anything!!! Anyone else have this issue? It just started today out of nowhere! I have not installed any apps recently.

The title says for Droid X, but it increases it for the old Droid too, same process.
I recently bought a new phone, and so I want to transfer the data from my old phone to my current one. The problem is that since the touchscreen on my old phone stopped working, I can't use any apps to auto-package data and apps. Is there a way to transfer the data with this problem?

This works great on standard Android phones such as the Motorola Droid, HTC Nexus One and HTC G1. The problem is for users who are using devices such as the HTC Incredible or HTC Droid Eris (Both running Sense UI) and I imagine on other phones who's OS deviates from the vanilla flavor of Android.Using my current method I thought that the device's OS would hook into whatever that manufacture chose to use for their Contact system however users are being sent to a random list of numbers, not their Contact list. Does anyone have a suggestion on how to get those Contacts or is this just another example of the Android fragmentation issue?

Basically I have a couple of older gen phones which are pretty crap for anything but media purposes, I use them whilst training or at an OP in Afghan. I just throw my headphones on if im running, as if I drop them.. I dont mind much.
Id like it if I could whack my sim in one, but remove the call function for OPSEC purposes. Still remain useful for SMS and Data(internet) usage whilst im away or even home. I've done this with certain devices (Wildfire, this was only used for Beats and Net, I removed the SMS and call function)

View 1 Replies View RelatedI don't remember my DroidX always doing this, but recently after I hang-up from a call it shows the "Call Time XX:XX" in the center of the screen and I can't do anything until it goes away, which is generally 5-8 seconds. Hitting Home, Back, etc does nothing and tapping on the screen or the message also does nothing.Is this a setting I can disable? I can look at the recent calls to get the length of call if I need to see it, so I don't need the dramatic pause to give me this info.
View 2 Replies View RelatedIt seems like my Samsung Behold2 the call drop ratios is extremely high, call drops out of no where and sometimes I have seen full bars on phone but still calls get dropped. Another issue that while on the call the other parties voice will stop coming, the phone will be running and shows the call timer on as well, cannot end the call if this happens, the dialers just seems like hanged. only thing to come out from this issue is either take the battery out or somehow manage it to go in airplane mode.

If I'm on the phone and the alarm goes off, it totally disables the phone keypad and basically takes over the screen. It went off today while I was on a call and I couldn't dismiss it in order to get the phone keypad back. Is it my phone (a motorola photon) or something else?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a droid 3. After using it for a few days, i could not receive or send any calls or texts all of a sudden and i don't know what i did wrong. A hollow triangle icon appeared on the top right corner of the screen beside the WiFi icon. When I call, it tells me to dial *611 and reactivate the phone. But when I called *611, it still asked me to dial *611. I tried a lot of ways to make it work but it never did. Then I tried doing the factory reset. I reset it, and it said i had to make a special call to activate the phone. So i pressed the activate button, i think it is supposed to give me instructions and tell me how to reactivate it but it didn't say anything and i'm now stuck on that page i couldn't go back couldn't do anything. I tried turning it off and turning it back on and it was still at the same page.

I have a thl w200s I have it for one week and from the time that i first opeened it I face a problem. Almost every 24 hours when receiving a call the phone crashes (freezes) and it doesn't respond to any button (or combination). The only thing i can do is to remove the battery and insert it again. Then the phone restarts automatically. This problem happens almost every 24 hours since i got it.

However, when I finish the phone call or take the phone away from my ear... I get the lock screen. Why? Why doesn't the screen just go back on to whatever screen was on before the phone call... like the dial pad. To hang up a phone call, I have to unlock the screen first.

I had been using cyanogenmod roms on it. presently i have CM 7.1 EAV 7.2. The roms usually came with ADW launcher as default. But one problem I have been facing is that some times my phone does not respond to press of any button, not even power button after ending a call. The screen however goes off and does not light up.
I have to either remove the battery, replace it and restart or I have to make a call to my phone from another phone. When I give a missed call, the phone gets activated. But when I press Menu button, it brings up the keyboard instead of Menu.
This problem has been persisting whichever version of CM Rom I have been using.
The problem aggravates when I use Go Launcher as my default launcher by using Launcher Switcher. When I use ADW as default lanucher but have Go Launcher also on my phone, sometimes the defaults are cleared and I am asked to choose the launcher to finish the task of closing phone app.
Initially, I thought this was the problem of default phone app. So I tried dialer one from play store, but to no avail.
Is there a way to delete the ADW launcher that comes with the custom ROM?
