Decided to try the encryption feature , it took well over 30 minutes to finish but never prompted me to enter a password, upon rebooting it prompted me for a password... didn't know it so I decided to wipe phone to be able to boot. Phone can not mount internal SD card at all.

When the (HTC Desire) phone is powered up it is unable to mount the SD card, and I am unable to have it mounted from the "Settings > SD card & Storage" menu. Having said that, the micro SD card can be accessed from a computer (when plugged in directly to the computer, i.e. no issue with the card), and moreover, when I am in the recovery mode, I can have it mounted and browse it. By the way, the card could be accessed from the phone until I downgraded the O/S, and managed to have it rooted.
When the phone is running normally, and connected to the USB port of a laptop, the laptop does recognize a device connected (can even do ADB), but I believe because the SD card is not mounted, the phone does not offer the option to make the card appear as a disk drive for computer access.
I am running the original (RUU, Telstra) Android 2.2 (2.26.841.2) on a HTC desire, after I had it "S-OFF'ed". After reloading the original 2.2, I had it rooted.
The micro SD card is a 2GB one, with approx 1.5GB formatted as FAT16 (contains typical file and photos), and 0.5 GB as EXT3 (contains nothing at the moment).

Recovery mode: ClockworkMod v5.0.2.0 (I manually loaded it)
I have searched online for solutions, and have not been able to have it fixed. Others seem to have different issues to that of mine. Usually, they cannot mount the SD-card at all (not even from recovery), or their SD card just needed to be reformatted. I think I have indicated that these do not appear to be relevant to my issue at all. I have also tried "Fastboot oem enableqxdm 0", and it made no difference.
Widget that dual mount you SD card to the computer and to the computer. My question is there a script that does this. How we can add to vold file or ramdisk.
So we don't need the widget but when you plug in your phone and you'll touch the mount button it mount on your pc but you can get to sd on phone too (or even auto mount to pc).
I'm using an EVO LTE, but this question should apply on using Android device that has internal storage and an external card slot.
I'm trying to use my EVO LTE as my sole media player (specifically, the internal storage). Connecting it to the PC and getting the files onto it are no big deal (of course I do need to use MTP, which I hate). Now on to the problem:
I'd like to be able to use the device connected to my car's USB port. Being able to pick through my media using the car stereo controls is a big plus for me, and worked great when I had an iPod (which I don't anymore, not getting into that).
Of course, the car stereo's USB connection doesn't support MTP, only Mass Storage, at least as far as I can tell (It's a stock stereo in a Fit). I get a compatibility type of error currently when I try to connect my phone using the 'HTC Sync Manager' USB option in the phone (which mounts the device using MTP). The 'Disk Drive' option of course only mounts the external card.
what I'd love to be able to do is mount the internal storage via USB Mass Storage. I'm not sure if this is currently doable, but my forum-scouring to date leads me to believe that it is not.
I formatted my internal sdcard to exfat by mistake while trying to simply format it(for some reason windows defaulted to exfat instead of fat32) now my sdcard won't mount and I can't format it in windows and can't mount it, I could get it back to fat32 and working again.

After rebooting the rom is stuck, so now i want to get back to stock but , i have not placed stock rom on internal sd card
and my recovery mode is showing internal sd card. so i am unable to copy stock rom into my internal sd card. As my phone is unable to connect to pc. I tried odin but it did not work.
A long time ago I had edited a file that is read on boot, in that file is written which one of the two 'partition' has to be mounted as what.
Basically, my 32GB microsd is seen as the internal memory of the device (which would be 12 GB), and the other one as micro sd. The result is that most application would go to the microsd by default, using thus 32GB for apps instead of 12GB.
This is because my microsd is failing. Changed with a new one, and now it is failing again. I suppose my phone has become a 'micro sd destroyer'. Cannot do anything about it, so better to use the internal memory instead of the card for main use..... So how do I switch back to normal mounting (micro sd as micro sd and internal memory as internal memory and not switched up) ?
My Eris is not recognized by my computer. It won't allow me to mount my sd card. Any ideas?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have not long bought my first tablet - its an ly-f1 / alldro speed etc clone. It came with android 4.0.4 and was already rooted. Play store access isn't bad for standard, i have found most things i have looked for, although some say device is not compatible - for example the speedtest.net app and itv player. There's some it cant find either like grand theft auto 3 for example.
The performance for the tablet is ok but i understand a custom rom could improve it and also give better play store access/compatibility. So i started looking at what roms were available, i found troys CM9 and CM10, so wanted to try CM9 first. This is where i started running into problems. Mainly finding everything i needed - CMW, ADB drivers etc.. oh and mounting the sdcard! as below..
I managed to find CMW 6 for the ly-f1, which i copied across onto the tablet and ran using a shell to install it. I copied across the CM9, compatibility and gapps zip files to the internal sdcard. So far so good, however.....
when i rebooted into CMW and went to "install zip from sdcard" then "choose zip from internal sdcard" it comes up saying "cant mount /emmc/"
If i try "choose zip from sdcard" rather than internal sdcard, it says "cant mount /sdcard" - to be expected as i dont have one in it! but i cant figure out why the internal one doesn't work.
When the tablet is on i can get into the internal sdcard fine and if i connect it to the pc i can see it fine. I've looked around google and the forums and tried a few various things with no joy - for example i tried copying everything off the internal sdcard and formatting it - done this through the android setttings and through windows - both fat32 and ntfs just to see, none made any difference.
I then thought i'd try find another version of CMW in case it was that, i found a version 5 which is when i required the ADB drivers as it was a different method for installing it - got it installed and it rebooted into CMW but i had the exact same problem, still cant mount it, so i am still unable to flash to a new rom.
Is there another method i can use to flash the device? I know theres livesuite but not sure if this is suitable for CM9 since theres 3 zips that need installed? i cant understand why it cant mount the internal sdcard.
I formatted the internal SD card through CWM and now the card cannot be recognized by Win7 and it's stated as a linux file-CD Gadget USB Device, and the drives are greyed out. How do I revert the SD Card back to FAT32 format?
I'm also unable to mount it as USB storage in CWM recovery giving an error of cannot write to lumfile (no such file and directory). However, I'm able to still format the sdcard in cwm but it does not solve the problem.
I have been trying to root my phone and install the new 2.1 update but when i mount my whone the sd card does not shpw up something does but its alot of apps and pics and other stuff. could someone please give me the instructions for windows vesta and mak it barney style not real good with the tec stuff new to it all.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI've just started having a problem with my big x10i, if I put the 8gb card that came with the phone in, I get a message in the status bar saying 'checking for errors'. At this point the phone goes really slow and if the phone locks I'm unable to unlock it and I have to take the battery out. I tried putting a different card (2gb) and it just keeps saying in the status bar 'SD card removed. Insert a new one' the whole phone is annoying me now as this is not the first problem I've had with it.Hope someone can help before I insert hammer in it.

After I did that, every time I press mount SD card, i get a notification that the SD card is safe to remove. I booted up in CWM and tried partitioning it and it says it worked, but I still can't mount and I get "Error mounting /sdcard!".
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am running one of the leaked 2.2 OTA Roms, everything has been working fine, except lately, as of a week or two ago, the phone won't mount as Disk Drive unless I reboot, and it wasn't a one time fix, I have to do this every time. I noticed that when I plug the phone into the computer, I don't get the message saying "Charge Only / HTC Sync / Disk Drive / Mobile Broadband Connect etc." And yes, I have it set to ask me every time, and I even set the default connection type to Disk Drive, and still I unplug it and plug it back in and nothing. I know it connected okay, the computer recognizes it as HTC Android device or whatever it calls it, and the orange light lights up on the phone showing that's it's charging, but in my computer all that pops up is a weird optical drive that I can't access.

It started saying it was full, so I'd delete a picture here and there but eventually it just stopped loading my picture gallery it was so full, and my sd card just stopped working completely. It said I needed to format it, so I took all of the pictures and put them on my computer and tried to format it, but It said it was damaged. Also, previously I didn't know that you had to mount and unmount it when taking it out so I don't know if that had anything to do with it. So anyway, I buy a new SD card, try to mount it. It says it's damaged. A little while later, I buy another card figuring it might just be that card was messed up. STILL SAYS IT'S A DAMAGED CARD. These are two brand new cards I tried, so I know it's something to do with my phone, but I don't understand.

So in order to install it the OP wrote in the instructions to factory restore the phone which I did. When I cleared the cache and everything and went to install it TWRP said it failed so I just erased it. Then when I went to reboot it was stuck on the screen with the red writing so I rebooted it in Recovery and it said there was no OS installed. I looked for this problem online and found that if I mounted the phone to my computer I could copy and paste a new ROM for my phone which I eventually tried to do but for some reason it does not allow me to check off either of the boxes next to "Mount SD Card" or "Mount Internal." It does let me mark all the other boxes. what I should do so the computer recognizes the phone as a "Removable Disk" like it used to so I can just drag and drop a new OS into my phone and put this thing behind me already?

When I boot up my Nexus One, it takes <Sandlot>FOR-EVV-ERRR</Sandlot> to mount my SD card. I've got most of my apps on that card, so it's super annoying!
Like I've said, I've got a bunch of apps (40?) loaded on to this card, a few documents, 4 CDs... random stuff. I haven't formatted the card in a looong time... nor have I wiped the phone in a loooong time. I am a crackflasher - I flash a new ROM every day, but I VERY RARELY have issues, so that's why I haven't wiped in so long. I would be happy to just mount the SD manually through the terminal when I need it to.
The phone is a Nexus One. I'm running a CM7.1(or whatever it is) based ROM and kernel. The SD card is the 16gig one that came with the phone.
What's the terminal command to mount the SD card to the phone? So the ROM can access it?
Do the apps get stored on the internal SD card on the phone? Or on the section where it says Internal phone storage?

I had updated my phone to Android 4.4.2 and i still have root access and all that good stuff but when i try to give root access to something like Link2SD or Root Explorer it will only give it partial permissions. Link2SD wont mount my sd card partition and root explorer wont gain root access at all. Both apps have the error "char* ttyname(int)(3) is not implemented on Android char* ttyname(int)(3) is not implemented on Android mount: Invalid argument". Idk what this is or how to fix it. how to fix it so i can use my sd card partition and fix my wifi.

View 5 Replies View RelatedWhen I look at the settings and "SD card and phone storage" option I see the different types of storage. Based on what I see, please verify the following assumptions are correct. The external SD card is obviously the one I added. I assume it can be used to store media files (via USB, direct write on a PC, etc.). I read until Froyo we won't be able to install apps on this card.
The internal SD card is what is built into the phone for apps and other things those apps write to the phone.
Looks like Google Listen writes to this area (can't make it write to the external SD and not sure why). It appears that the only things writing to there are my camera and of course any music, pics, or videos I load on there directly. Nothing else seems to make use of it. The internal phone storage is for things like the OS and is pretty much off limits. When I go into the "My Files" app on the phone it dumps me into the home directory which happens to be /sdcard. I assume this is the internal SD card? Under that directory it also has "/sd" which appears to be my external SD card. Why would they make it look like "/sd" is a subdirectory of "/sdcard" when it's not?
I'm confused exactly what the memory allowance is for the Motorola DROID. Where are the apps stored? Phone internal memory or SD card or both? How much can the device hold? I'm always uncertain whether it's OK to install more and more apps...so I'm skeptical...
