I decided I wanted a fresh start on my phone so I backed up my pictures and formatted my SD card. I just used the default one in settings. After I did that, every time I press mount SD card, i get a notification that the SD card is safe to remove. I booted up in CWM and tried partitioning it and it says it worked, but I still can't mount and I get "Error mounting /sdcard!".

I have an issues and hopefully somebody can help. Ok I have an Evo and it wont read SD cards. Whne I put in an SD card the option to mount or format the card are grayed out and it shows not available space as if there is no card in there.
So I figure its a bad slot so I take it to a close by repair center and the guy lets me try a card he had in another android phone (hero I think) and it it was recognized by my phone. So I go it must be that my card bad.
I go home and put the card in my laptop and format it and it formats fine. When I put it in the Evo still not recognized. I put the card in my PS3, it's recognized so I format it there too. I put it in the Evo still not recognized.
I can't be the slot in my evo cause I put the guys card in myself, turned it on myself and saw for myself that it recognized the card. Anybody know whats up with this? I have official 2.2 but this was going on BEFORE I updated to froyo. Can anybody help?
When the (HTC Desire) phone is powered up it is unable to mount the SD card, and I am unable to have it mounted from the "Settings > SD card & Storage" menu. Having said that, the micro SD card can be accessed from a computer (when plugged in directly to the computer, i.e. no issue with the card), and moreover, when I am in the recovery mode, I can have it mounted and browse it. By the way, the card could be accessed from the phone until I downgraded the O/S, and managed to have it rooted.
When the phone is running normally, and connected to the USB port of a laptop, the laptop does recognize a device connected (can even do ADB), but I believe because the SD card is not mounted, the phone does not offer the option to make the card appear as a disk drive for computer access.
I am running the original (RUU, Telstra) Android 2.2 (2.26.841.2) on a HTC desire, after I had it "S-OFF'ed". After reloading the original 2.2, I had it rooted.
The micro SD card is a 2GB one, with approx 1.5GB formatted as FAT16 (contains typical file and photos), and 0.5 GB as EXT3 (contains nothing at the moment).

I have searched online for solutions, and have not been able to have it fixed. Others seem to have different issues to that of mine. Usually, they cannot mount the SD-card at all (not even from recovery), or their SD card just needed to be reformatted. I think I have indicated that these do not appear to be relevant to my issue at all. I have also tried "Fastboot oem enableqxdm 0", and it made no difference.
I've got a 3TB external drive drive hooked up to my Ouya running CM11 (Android 4.4)
I run Nzbget and Transmission in optware, and use CM primarily as a vehicle for XBMC so I need the space.
I had it in 2 ext4 partitions which needed a init script to mount under the stock OS.
I was hopping to get it working in a less hacky manner under CM.
I tried with the two parts, and no go so i redid it with one big partition with root as the UID and sdcard_rw as the GID.
Still no dice. I can access it in File Manager with elevated permissions, but no go in XBMC or other apps.
Also tried one big exFAT partioning with no luck.
I plugged in an 8g ntfs drive I had and it automounted it no problem.
What is the right way to configure the drive? We're a Linux household so sticking with ext2/3/4 would be ideal. NTFS I would like to avoid.
I have not long bought my first tablet - its an ly-f1 / alldro speed etc clone. It came with android 4.0.4 and was already rooted. Play store access isn't bad for standard, i have found most things i have looked for, although some say device is not compatible - for example the speedtest.net app and itv player. There's some it cant find either like grand theft auto 3 for example.
The performance for the tablet is ok but i understand a custom rom could improve it and also give better play store access/compatibility. So i started looking at what roms were available, i found troys CM9 and CM10, so wanted to try CM9 first. This is where i started running into problems. Mainly finding everything i needed - CMW, ADB drivers etc.. oh and mounting the sdcard! as below..
I managed to find CMW 6 for the ly-f1, which i copied across onto the tablet and ran using a shell to install it. I copied across the CM9, compatibility and gapps zip files to the internal sdcard. So far so good, however.....
when i rebooted into CMW and went to "install zip from sdcard" then "choose zip from internal sdcard" it comes up saying "cant mount /emmc/"
If i try "choose zip from sdcard" rather than internal sdcard, it says "cant mount /sdcard" - to be expected as i dont have one in it! but i cant figure out why the internal one doesn't work.
When the tablet is on i can get into the internal sdcard fine and if i connect it to the pc i can see it fine. I've looked around google and the forums and tried a few various things with no joy - for example i tried copying everything off the internal sdcard and formatting it - done this through the android setttings and through windows - both fat32 and ntfs just to see, none made any difference.
I then thought i'd try find another version of CMW in case it was that, i found a version 5 which is when i required the ADB drivers as it was a different method for installing it - got it installed and it rebooted into CMW but i had the exact same problem, still cant mount it, so i am still unable to flash to a new rom.
Is there another method i can use to flash the device? I know theres livesuite but not sure if this is suitable for CM9 since theres 3 zips that need installed? i cant understand why it cant mount the internal sdcard.
after I failed trying to install jaggydzire/blackjack, my explorer can't mount my sd card anymore, i can get to recovery but i can't install any ROM, tried the fastboot oem enableqxdm 0 but nothing happened..my sd card is working, i formatted it using a pc, but still i can't mount it in my phone...what else should i do?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI've had an LG Vortex for probably about two years now. It's always worked fine up until about six months ago. It started saying it was full, so I'd delete a picture here and there but eventually it just stopped loading my picture gallery it was so full, and my sd card just stopped working completely. It said I needed to format it, so I took all of the pictures and put them on my computer and tried to format it, but It said it was damaged. Also, previously I didn't know that you had to mount and unmount it when taking it out so I don't know if that had anything to do with it. So anyway, I buy a new SD card, try to mount it. It says it's damaged. A little while later, I buy another card figuring it might just be that card was messed up. STILL SAYS IT'S A DAMAGED CARD. These are two brand new cards I tried, so I know it's something to do with my phone, but I don't understand.

Widget that dual mount you SD card to the computer and to the computer. My question is there a script that does this. How we can add to vold file or ramdisk.
So we don't need the widget but when you plug in your phone and you'll touch the mount button it mount on your pc but you can get to sd on phone too (or even auto mount to pc).
Decided to try the encryption feature , it took well over 30 minutes to finish but never prompted me to enter a password, upon rebooting it prompted me for a password... didn't know it so I decided to wipe phone to be able to boot. Phone can not mount internal SD card at all.

When I cleared the cache and everything and went to install it TWRP said it failed so I just erased it. Then when I went to reboot it was stuck on the screen with the red writing so I rebooted it in Recovery and it said there was no OS installed. I looked for this problem online and found that if I mounted the phone to my computer I could copy and paste a new ROM for my phone which I eventually tried to do but for some reason it does not allow me to check off either of the boxes next to "Mount SD Card" or "Mount Internal." It does let me mark all the other boxes. what I should do so the computer recognizes the phone as a "Removable Disk" like it used to so I can just drag and drop a new OS into my phone and put this thing behind me already?

When I boot up my Nexus One, it takes <Sandlot>FOR-EVV-ERRR</Sandlot> to mount my SD card. I've got most of my apps on that card, so it's super annoying!
Like I've said, I've got a bunch of apps (40?) loaded on to this card, a few documents, 4 CDs... random stuff. I haven't formatted the card in a looong time... nor have I wiped the phone in a loooong time. I am a crackflasher - I flash a new ROM every day, but I VERY RARELY have issues, so that's why I haven't wiped in so long. I would be happy to just mount the SD manually through the terminal when I need it to.
The phone is a Nexus One. I'm running a CM7.1(or whatever it is) based ROM and kernel. The SD card is the 16gig one that came with the phone.
What's the terminal command to mount the SD card to the phone? So the ROM can access it?
I tried to format it on my laptop via adapter, by right clicking SD Card F: going to format, selecting FAT32, checking the quick format box, and pressing start but whenever I place it back in my phone, it won't mount. It says it's damaged. I had the same problem when I first purchased the sd card but found a link online that showed me how to format it a different way,in another location, which worked perfectly. I recently removed the sd card for something though and encountered this same problem but am unable to find that same link. It's driving me nuts! I had to import everything to my laptop to make sure I didn't lose it all.

Short version of a long story is that someone reformatted it and haven't been able to connect it since. I had updated my phone to Android 4.4.2 and i still have root access and all that good stuff but when i try to give root access to something like Link2SD or Root Explorer it will only give it partial permissions. Link2SD wont mount my sd card partition and root explorer wont gain root access at all. Both apps have the error "char* ttyname(int)(3) is not implemented on Android char* ttyname(int)(3) is not implemented on Android mount: Invalid argument". Idk what this is or how to fix it. how to fix it so i can use my sd card partition and fix my wifi.

I dont install any app and i have deleted all the APPS and temp files from my internal sd. When i connect my TABLET to the pc it says the FREE SPACE is 85mb(Also says in the tablet settings>storage) but when i went inside the internal sd through my computer, and click on all the FLODERS and look into the properties, the size are only about 100 mb, but have free space of 85mb which is strange. there is also 'FOUND.000' folder after i connected to the pc which cannot be deleted. can i format the INTERNAL SD?or?

After deleting files and rebooting, the files reappear.
I can't format the SD Card using the Android OS - it goes black screen and requires me to pull out the battery in order to start the device.
I removed the SD Card and attached it to my laptop's SD Card slot and tried formatting using Windows 7- the format process completed after ~30-40 minutes, yet the SD Card appeared UNCHANGED!
I used multiple SD Card formatting tools, still no dice - they either complain about write protection, that they can't start, they start and stop halfway with an error, you name it.
It's like the SD Card has built in protection that keeps the files in it in stasis form, never ever witnessed such a behavior in any storage device. What gives?
I have a MyPhone A888 (4.0.4) and I was planning to wipe the Internal SD Card. How exactly do I do this? I have not rooted my phone yet also so how to root this phone. I've searched for hours through every post i can see about this issue the card is a sandisk class 10 32 gig micro sd. it is not a counterfeit card as i bought it at radio shack.i tried parted,SD formater,commands in terminal,sd formatter all of them format it to 30.6 mb very disappointing bought this card a month ago and worked flawlessly pulled it out of my sgs iii when i sold it and now its stuck and wont be recognized by my current phone it says safely remove card ive tried formatting in cwm it wont mount it nothing.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI followed the steps on Addictive Tips on how to properly add an EXT4 partition on my 8gb sd card.
Now I have 6.xGB FAT32 as the primary partition, and a 1GB EXT4 logical partition. But my Samsung Galaxy Ace (running on CyanogenMod-7.2.0-C1-cooper, official nightly build) doesn't recognize the sd card anymore.
So I gave up and reformatted it back to a single FAT32 partition, copied my backup back into the sd card, but now the apps don't get recognized.
Is there a way to mount the system root to pc as a disk mount cause I want to recovery data from it that I wiped.
View 6 Replies View RelatedAfter powering on my phone this morning(I charge my phone off to bump charge my 2100 battery ) I tried to play a podcast on Google listen and noticed my phone said there was no SD card. I tried everything. Rebooted several times and I even booted into recovery. I got weird screen, triangle with an exclamation! So I rebooted back into current Rom(Ruby1.1). So I finally bit the bullet and decided to reformat the SD card (through the phone) and it still doesn't work! I don't have access to a computer but it looks like my SD card is toast. This card is a 8gig scan disk that came with my old BB Storm. Luckily the 2 gig SD that came with my incredible has a nandroid back-up, but its a 2.1 back-up. Not sure if it matters but I do have an extra backup. When I get a home I'll get another SD and do so backups. Just thought I le you guys know to tell everyone to make extra backups!
View 2 Replies View RelatedSo I somehow killed my 2GB SD card last week (accidentally unplugged from the laptop while it was writing data- wasn't recognized as existing by my phone or laptop after that) and just got a 4GB card today. I formatted it (FAT32) before trying anything, then copied my files back from my laptop onto the card and ran a new Titanium Backup batch thingie. Everything was fine, and I was going to go create a new backup file through Clockwork Mod so I could flash a new ROM on there and I get this message.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI rooted last night, DL LFY and LFY1100 kernel. I installed the kernel and then LFY itself. After trying to reboot it only gets to the custom boot screen and will not launch. After 15 minutes I pulled the battery and tried to launch in recovery mode to load my backup. Upon trying to do that it says cannot mount to SD card. I try again and same thing. After failing to mount it goes into the same custom launch screen for LFY but no OS comes up.

But everyone seems to be able to mount the SD card and copy files to it. I want to update to Galexo roms but not even able to mount my phone.I disabled the mass storage settings and enabled the debugging. I was able to flash the phone using Odin and also able install the recovery image from Galexo.
