View 5 RepliesI'm confused exactly what the memory allowance is for the Motorola DROID. Where are the apps stored? Phone internal memory or SD card or both? How much can the device hold? I'm always uncertain whether it's OK to install more and more apps...so I'm skeptical...

Or is it better to store highscore-lists to sd-card? If yes, how can I do that?
what will be stored on the internal phone storage vs phone memory vs sd card? I see that phone memory is much less than phone storage.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'd like to take some of the data that is automatically downloaded to the SD card and have it run off the internal memory. Is there a list of apps that allows this without problems?
View 7 Replies View RelatedAs I did some research I found out, and correct me if I am wrong, that most of the applications that we download on the Droid go against the internal memory, and that the applications are not being loaded onto the memory card. I move to the Droid from Blackberry for this sole reason, thinking the Droid had it the opposite way, that the applications were being loaded on the memory card, and not the internal memory. This concept of loading the programs onto the internal memory, was putting a hurt on my Blackberry, where I had to give up programs in order for it to run faster. I am now concerned after finding out that the Droid has the same concept, that this will eventually happen with my Droid, and that I may have to give up programs for it to run fater as well. If this is true to what I am saying, that the applications are on the internal memory and eating away on it, then I am hoping someone would develop a program where as we can take our progams and move them over to the memory card so that it will free up the internal memory, other wise I am off to seek aphone that runs windows, I do belive they do have this concept that I want. I should have done my homework!

I put the micro SD from my old phone into the Hero and as it's full up i was hoping to transfer some of the files onto the phone using the internal memory, but i cannot find a way of doing this. Also now that the card is full i am unable to take new photos cos there is no space for them to be stored. Do i have to do something to access the internal memory?
View 10 Replies View RelatedI was a self confessed iphone lover.. But a few days ago curiosity got me and I decided to get a Galaxy S3.
I can't say how much a love this phone and am a bit ashamed that I didn't realize how great android devices were. So far I have been able to find out on my own how to do pretty much everything I needed done except for one thing.
I work in music hence have a lot of music on my phone. I didn't want to restart the cataloging process of recreating playlist after playlist. So i found a solution to transfer my itunes to my phone.
I did this with Air Sync and DoubleTwist. The main problem I have is it put all of my music on my internal memory card and now it is full. I have a 32gb external SD card that is empty right now and was wondering if there is a solution to quickly transfer all of my music from the internal memory to the SD card. Furthermore I would like for the air sync / doubleTwist software to put all future music on the SD card as well.
I have a galaxy y pro. It's still functional and I want to add useful apps in it. Unfortunately for a smartphone it only has 160mb internal memory.
It's already rooted.
How do I turn my sd card into the internal memory?
That way if I download apps like zombie run it goes directly to the sd card.
Oh snap! I don't have a witty tapatalk signature!
I'm having trouble changing the external memory for internal, already used the "external 2 internal", vold.ftab changed the script. with external 2 internal cards are the 2 with the same amount of bits. and using the script does not recognize the external sd.

View 1 Replies View RelatedFirts off, I would like to say hi to everyone, since this is my first post. Also, sorry if this topic has been discussed already, but I did a search and was unable to find what I needed. Alright, lets get to the question. I have a Moto Droid and just recently I received a notification about running out of internal memory space. Is there a way to move the apps from my internal memory to my SD card without rooting the phone? If this is not possible is there any way to free up more internal memory space?

I've tried a couple times, both moving small amount of files and/or entire folders and got Error messages in Astro. Is this just lack of support or can u really just add files using a Computer to the internal memory?

View 3 Replies View RelatedJust rooted my 2.2 Incredible tonight using Unrevoked3 on my Macbook. Everything was fine. I had RomManager and wanted to get Cyanogen, but I wanted to back up my apps first just in case. So I ran Titanium Backup. I wasn't sure how to do it, so I went to Menu>More>Create "update.zip". The phone started doing something, then it said it failed to create update and then the phone went dead. Tried powering back on, got to HTC Incredible screen, then screen went black and phone did 5 quick vibrations back to back and the green "new message" indicator light started blinking like I had a new email or something.
Tried powering back on, but nothing happened. Pulled battery, put it back, still nothing. Had to pull battery, plug phone into computer, put battery back in and then it powered on. Tried a Reboot, but that didn't do anything. Tried re-running unrevoked3, but it won't do anything because now my phone can't find any SD card or internal memory. Both are just grayed out. So even though my phone has 8gig internal and an 8gig external SD card in it, it's not showing either. I can't load a new ROM because it needs the SD card. I put the SD card into my computer and it shows all of my stuff on there, so the card isn't corrupted.
I have done all the method of Link2sd by making partition of my sd card. But my Qmobile noir a2 internal memory still going to lower down..
why is it so i hav linked all the lib files, dalvick cache ...every time i installed a new app it takes my internal memory lower down ..
Prior to installing the external card - the folders app showed /sd. Which I assumed was the internal one. Then I insert the external one, reboot the phone, and tehre is no additional directory in the folder view. Why is this? Secondly, its a 16GB card. Its reported as 14.58GB. The format option is greyed out. Is it automatically mounted at power on? Ideally I want to know where I install things to know that they are on the external card.
View 15 Replies View RelatedIs anyone else experiencing problems downloading and running apps from the market due to low memory issues? Why did they only put 512MB of internal memory for app storage on this Epic when the AT&T galaxy version got 8GB of internal memory in addition to the 16GB micro Sd card???
My memory is full now, and without android 2.2 I can't move apps to the SD card. They should have provided all of their galaxy class phones with the 8GB internal memory.
Im with samsung galaxy mini 2 s6500d how i can change internal memory with sd card ?
View 2 Replies View RelatedAnyways I have just got myself a Sony Ericsson X10 and it's my first Android phone. I have upgraded from a Samsung Omnia running WinMo 6.5 and I must say I'm enjoying Android so much more already As I'm completely new to Android I have a few questions:
1, Installing Apps - The SE X10 only has 256MB internal memory and I have a 8GB memory card inside, I have noticed nearly everything I download installs to the internal memory. With my Omnia you can choose where to install it, is there a way to force it to install to the SD card or move it from the internal memory to the SD card?
2, Charging - For the first time ever I have never have come across a phone that fully turns it's self on from being fully turned off when a charger is plugged in and turned on. With any rechargeable device you need to give them a good charge (16+ hours) to give them a good life. But how can I do that as the battery is being used as its charging?
3, I've seen some stuff about rooting? I kinda understand it but what is the benefit of doing it? Is it risky? Is there any cons?
How to tell the installer intent to install on memory card or on phone memory ?

Now, I want to open & read the file content from phone's internal memory to UI. I tried to do it by using the FileInputStream, I have given just filename with extension to open it but I am not sure how to mention the file path for file in internal memory, as it forces the application to close.
