i want to know if there is a way to request a pasword every time the user wants to change the app or go to home screen, tha idea is that this app will request a password to allow the user change the app or go to home screen.

I'm new to android but just used the guides at this forum to root my LG Optimus V. I was wondering if now that I have root there is a way to install a boot password similar to the one I have on my computer. Before it loads the operating system, the BIOS asks for a password. Is there any similar functionality for android?
Also, is this possible on other devices even if it is not on mine? It's one of my favorite laymen security measures.
I have had this same problem happen twice to me on 2 different phones on 2 different Verizon accounts!
The password screen locks and when it asks for the user name and password it states invalid user name / password!
Is this a known problem since when I called and talked to both Verizon and HTC the only thing they could tell me was to do a hard reset and they weren't aware of this problem?
I have a galaxy S3 4G and was wondering if there is a app I can download that will enable Bluetooth when I get into my car? I hate having it on and sometimes forget to turn it on when I need to drive somewhere.

I recently moved and had the opportunity to view my TV-channels on my phone. However it is required to have a device who is not rooted, and I don't really want to unroot just to view tv on my phone.
Any small program, script etc. which can tell the app that the phone is unrooted, even though it is rooted? My phone is a Samsung Galaxy Nexus, running stock unlocked and unrooted JB yakju 4.2.2.

I noticed that Amazon has Kindle for Android application and I want to use the Android phone to read Kindle books.
If internet access is not required to read the Kindle book on the Android phone, then it means I can read the Kindle book in a remote area where there is no wireless service. Also, I don't incur long distance charges if I read the kindle book outside my local dialing area.

The reason Im asking is that since almost all new phones have sensor keys for menu, back, etc (instead of physical buttons), that cannot be used during boot, a thief who wants to install a new ROM on a stolen device can go only through Hboot with power/volume down, instead of jumping straight to recovery (power/menu) or fastboot like on my old MT3G, for example. Therefore, a Hboot password option would make stolen phones extremely difficult to crack, and would require way more than just average user knowledge how to flash a ROM.

I've never seen this pop up on any android phone we've had. She does use the native Email app on her corporate account, so this may be due to that. View 4 Replies View RelatedI encrypted my LG Optimus G E970 using the option in cyanogenmod under security. It prompted me for a pin using a keypad, and I carefully entered a 4 digit pin. At the end of the encryption process, it rebooted and promted me with "Enter password to decrypt storage." Instead of a pin, there was a text box and full android keyboard. I entered my pin, and it said "Try Again." It did not lock me out at all for any amount of time no matter how many passwords I tried. I tried rebooting it, and had the same problem. If I leave the device on without typing in a password, it makes a clicking sound after a minute or so every ten seconds. I can't factory reset in TWRP because it can't mount /data.

On my mobile with A2.1, can unlock the screen simply by swiping from left to right.
Is there an app to lock the screen by some password or whatever, to prevent thiefs and alike to easily access the phone?.
i am stuck at the boot password screen when i didnt not set any password for my asus transformer. i had started it up in the am no problem and then it froze around noon and then when i rebooted it, it came to this password screen, and nothing works, I have talked to the guys over at transformer forums and they said that i should try to go in it through my computer but my computer doesnt seem to recognize it either. I have been looking through the various bits on the phone and decided to put a password on it. I have done this on all of my previous, simple, phones with no problems, but now that I have done it on the MG all I can get is the phone dial screen. No pptions for any apps, settings, etc. Just the dial screen.
I have tried the factory reset using the power/volume buttons but when I get to the second selection, with the 'distressed android' showing I don't get any options with it, just the android.
