i just my new galaxy nexus and to check my work email (through an app called lotus), it checks my phone to make sure i have a 10char+ complicated password set. as you can imagine, having to enter a 10char+ complicated password everytime you want to get to your phone is annoying. is there a way to bypass this? i am rooted...

My daughter has a HTC Inspire & recently lost it due to behavior unbecoming for a young lady!! My question is is there a way to gain root access in order to blow out the password file & access the phone or any other trick that wont reset everything? If im being honest, Im scared to death of what I might find but also believe its something that needs to be addressed before something even worse happens! I guess I could just record a youtube video of me putting a couple rounds in it!

1) I have been using the gmail app that came with my hero,and was wondering,
is there anyway I can FORCE a password/login page?
I am a little iffy about someone else having the opportunity to view my personal email quite easily just by clicking the app.
2) I was playing around with the Mail app that came with my hero and logged in to my gmail, so now anytime I click on the mail widget,it immediately pulls up my gmail.
Is there anyway to dis-associate my gmail with the Mail app? I tried going under settings> applications> manage applications> Mail, but alas, I couldn't find a way to erase the info.
I noticed today that the spell checker on my EVO keeps moving for some odd reason. The spell checker is usually stationed and doesn't move when you're typing something on the keyboard. But now it moves around the screen frantically (it moves up and down). This has never happened before and it seems to be a glitch... Has anyone experienced this issue? If so, is there a fix?

I have tried manual settings as well with no success. never had this problem with HTC Touch HD which was runnig on Windows mobile unlike Desire which has an Androd platform. One quick question: when I try to check my voice mail and it ask me to type in password and hit pound button for some reason when I hit dial pad it flashes on and off and doesn't let me keep it on to punch in my password. Any thoughts on how I can fix that. When I notice I have a voice mail I swipe the notification bar and dial voice mail that way.

I just went to the email widget, typed in my email address and password, and it autoconfigured the imap settings. Worked like a charm. Yesterday it decided to "authentification failed, please verify your username/password"
Well, although my un/pw were right, I changed my pw just to be sure I wasnt being a dumbass, no luck. I googled the problem and heard some people changed to pop3 so I tried those settings, no luck. I even tried changing my preferred location to asia, lol, no luck.
I see this has been a problem for a LOT of people since the beginning, but whats really bothering me is I had yahoo for a month...problem free. So whats the deal with this? I am NOT paying for yahoo. this crap makes me crabby!
1) Is there a way to setup a password to open the phone (when you turn phone on)? If my phone gets lost or stolen, I'd like to have it password protected so they cannot get into my phone.

I'm new to android but just used the guides at this forum to root my LG Optimus V. I was wondering if now that I have root there is a way to install a boot password similar to the one I have on my computer. Before it loads the operating system, the BIOS asks for a password. Is there any similar functionality for android?
Also, is this possible on other devices even if it is not on mine? It's one of my favorite laymen security measures.

I don't know if it's Android, or Dophin, or just something in the website itself, but it does that. And normally it's right. Sometimes, however, the mobile site is soo dummied down and so useless I want to get to the main site. So how do I do that? It keeps going to the mobile site.

I recently broke my screen and cannot get past the lock screen so I can start my VNC server (to continue using my phone without the screen). I have searched through what seems to be all posts on bypassing pattern lock and I have not been able to succeed yet due to permission denial for super user in ADB, not having sqlite3 on my phone, and not being able to flash anything onto it in recovery mode.

I have a Nuvifone A50 (Garmin-asus), after wiping all data on the device, i can't accept areements, application is crashing and back to step 1.I'm SURE the phone is perfectly working exept this, so if i can bypass this, the phone will work. I tried restoring the .img file, same problem.

I have had this same problem happen twice to me on 2 different phones on 2 different Verizon accounts!
The password screen locks and when it asks for the user name and password it states invalid user name / password!
Is this a known problem since when I called and talked to both Verizon and HTC the only thing they could tell me was to do a hard reset and they weren't aware of this problem?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI had a Huawei X5, and switched to a Huawei Ascend P1. Both have the same screen dpi, 240 and I have not changed it. However, the P1 has a higher resolution. That is the only difference I can find for this problem.
I can see and install all my apps from google play on the X5, but on the P1 they don't appear. On the web page it says it's incompatible and if I try to install the apk directly, it also does not allow.
What compatibility check is it failing? One example is google googles, I can install it just fine in my 7'' tablet and in my X5, but not in the P1.Is there anything I can do to bypass this check?
Do you think it could be rom related (I use official miui for the P1 and unofficial miui for the X5)?

Access said site using your device (through the browser) and long press your chosen image until the menu comes up. Choose Set As Wallpaper and voila! A full size, non-cropped custom wallpaper on your phone/tablet.

So the screen has no functionality what so ever, i cant reset it or anything, broken. It was rooted and I loved all my settings on it. I have a pattern unlock for it and such, however, USB debugging is disabled (worst thing ever, second to it breaking) So i want all of my data off my old phone and into my new one.
