I unlocked my DROID RAZR M and switched from Verizon to tmobile, now when I attempt to start the noble hotspot i get a subscription error abs it tells me to call Verizon, is there a way around this? I've tried this party apps none will work, the all call up the stock hotspot from Verizon, can it be configured for tmobile?

I rooted my Samsung Conquer 4g on the Sprint network. I downloaded Wifi tether App (had to go to a website on my computer, then use the QR scanner app on my phone to download the app since Sprint won't allow it on the Android market place.) So my problem is now that my laptop and Ipod touch can see the wifi hot spot and connect to it just fine BUT my Honeycomb Acer Iconia Tablet A100 can't find the SSID wifi connection. It shows all other connections except for my wifi hotspot. why it won't show up on my tablet?

Most web pages crash without loading all the way. I can't connect to my mobile hotspot. When I look at my RAM, it seems the phne is using 70-80% of max all the time.
I have a 4G Sonic T-mobile hotspot (hockey puck type of device) working fine tethered to my Desktop, working via Wifi to my laptop and my iPad. No issues there. I also have an original Moto Droid on the VZW network, rooted, but no mods.
The Droid connects via Wifi to my Home Network (a Linksys Wifi Router), and other WiFi networks when I'm on the road. However I can't get it to connect to the T-Mobile 4G Hotspot. I know that's crazy, thinking I might get 4g internet speed out of an old original Droid, but technically it should work right?
Basically the Droid sees the hotspot, connects for a split second then gets dropped/disconnected. Or it's a settings issue and despite trying a million different settings.
I'm wondering if there's something in either device, or perhaps both, that recognizes one is a VZW device, the other a T-Mobile device, and it keeps me from making the connection. what might be keeping these two devices from connecting?

My droid razr asks for my password to my home wifi every time i go out of range and then come back and try to connect again. Using netgear wnr2000 with wpa. If i input my password and press connect, it lets me use wifi just fine. Updated netgear to latest firmware last night and browsed through all settings, but didn't see anything that might make a difference. Still does it today. Even just going out in the yard and back, have to re-enter pass if i got out of range. Doesn't happen with any other devices i use... laptops, other phones. Even reserved the ip that my phone currently had on the netgear for the phone.

Safestrap made a copy of the stock rom, but when it is loaded the boot loader screen is distorted and resembles the image of the custom rom boot loader screen. What can I do?

I've installed Froyo on a T-Mobile branded Desire. After the update, turning on USB tethering leads to immediate loss of mobile network - it just turns itself off. Same goes for the mobile Wifi hotspot: turn on -> for 2 seconds, it's working -> mobile network drops off. Moving into airplane mode and back brings back the network, but tethering is a goner. With 2.1, USB tethering had worked. I'm on Base, a brand of e-plus. I've talked to their customer services, they say Base absolutely supports tethering.

I heard the update refreshed it somehow so I was just glancing around and decided to take a look. well after going through some settings it started, I immediately closed the app afraid I had charged 20 dollars but I am wandering if it still costs if they got rid of the notification that it costs, I thought you had to subscribe to it before you ran it so does that mean it's free now?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've had a Galaxy Tab for 2 years, and used it, very successfully, as a wifi hotspot from May until July this year, when my laptop was suddenly not able to connect to the internet via the hotspot. It connected just fine to the Tab, and has no problems on my home wifi. The Tab was still able to connect to the internet normally, with no apparent problems.
I fiddled about a bit and thought perhaps it was a hardware problem, so bought a seconhand Nexus S. That has been working fine until yesterday, when the exact same thing has happened - the laptop can connect fine to the Nexus, but says there is no internet connection. The Nexus itself is connecting just fine.

I am looking for a way to automate my Android phone connecting to an SSH server when the phone connects to an unsecured wifi network. My understanding is that this is adequate to keep my traffic from being sniffed by DroidSheep (Android), FireSheep (Windows), or other packet sniffers.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI turn the thing on so that I can connect my computer to the internet then upon turning it off, my phone wont send emails thru my yahoo account or sometimes it wont send them thru my yahoo or my exchange email. They just sit in my outbox. Then I can't open them again to save them to be sent later, I only have the option of deleting them. I pull out my battery and then most of the time its all better but I shouldnt have to be doing this. I am starting to have flashbacks of my Blackberry Storm and pulling the battery every 10 minutes. Is hot spot even available on our phones?
Do custom kernels have these features built in? If so, what is a good kernel to use with OMJ's post on rooting the droid without RSDlite?
I really just want my phone to act like it acts and look like it looks now, just have additional features and maybe overclock it a bit.

I've got a Razr Maxx that I'm looking at replacing and was looking at the new Droid Maxx but I'm concerned about the lack of HDMI out. I'm a boater and have a TV on my boat. I connect my Razr Maxx to my TV with a Micro HDMI to HDMI cable and watch Netflix when I'm on the. I'd hate to give that up but also realize that my Maxx won't last forever.
Any new phones that do have HDMI out?

View 2 Replies View RelatedQuick background, I am still on a $30/month SERO plan with my Touch Pro 2 and waiting to get a $10/24 month discount but Sprint has put a halt to all discounts for the time being, so I'm going to try when the iPhone 4 comes out and when Verizon gets their Droid X. I was going to sell my EVO but it seems I might as well keep it since I'm going to eventually use it.
So in the meantime, I'm going to hold onto the TP2/SERO and use the EVO when I am within a WiFi network. Thing is sometimes I want to bring the EVO out, so I thought maybe I could open up a WiFi hotspot with HTC's Wifi-Router software and connect to it with the EVO. But the EVO isn't recognizing the WiFi hotspot. My laptop can recognize it though. I tried to add the WiFi network but it'll say "Not in range, remembered".
Is anyone else having issues with connections to the hotspot timing out when trying to connect or when already connected? I have tried to search around before posting but even most of my friends haven't come across this issue yet.

View 3 Replies View RelatedUpgraded to KitKat last night and now my RAZR HD will not display the correct time nor connect to Google. I can't fix either issue and haven't found an exact issue after several hours of searching on the internet. Not surprisingly, Verizon store dude has never seen the issue and has no clue.
After the upgrade completed the date and time on the phone were February 23rd, 2014 about 3 PM (upgrade finished 5/25 around 9pm) and none of the Google related tasks, apps, functions would work. This includes the search at the top of the home screen, email wouldn't sync, search in Chrome would not work, could not switch over to my 2nd gmail account, Play Store would not work, etc.
Time and date would not update manually nor via the system. I turn off the auto update and enter the time or date manually and it does not update. Current time and date stay. I have rebooted and did a factory reset with no change. When I try to add my existing Google account after the reset, I get an error message stating "Can't establish a reliable connection to the server. This could be a temporary problem or your Android device may not be provisioned for data services." I have a data services turned on.
Before I cleared the cache and app data for Chrome, the message I would receive when I tried to do a search or go to any Google.com URL said something about the SSL and couldn't make a connection.
I am having a strange problem with the Sprint mobile hotspot. When I am in a 4G area, my phone picks up and uses 4G with no problem. However, the instant I turn on the mobile hotspot, the 4G connection drops, and the phone reverts to 3G. The moment I turn off the hotspot, the phone goes back to 4G. If I turn the hotspot on/off from the Wireless & networks settings page, I can see that the instant the hotspot finishes initializing, the 4G line goes to "disconnected." It then goes to scanning and then sits at "obtaining IP address" for several seconds, at which point it starts that cycle over again. It goes through this cycle repeatedly until I turn off the hotspot, never getting past the "obtaining IP address" stage.I called Sprint tech support, and the best they came up with was to do a hard reset and see if that resolved the issue. Before I do that, I would like to see if anyone here has any idea what might cause this issue and how to resolve it short of a hard reset. I am running the official OTA froyo OS version. The update was pushed out the day after I got my Evo, so I do not know if this issue existed in 2.1.

I have a weird one. If I send a text on my Motorola Cliq XT, within my preset Advance Task Killer timeout (3 minutes I believe) the phone disconnects from the network and then the SIM needs to be unlocked.
Is there an App that should be running that I need to Add to the Ignore list? It only happens after texting.

When i opened my app drawer I noticed the 3g mobile hotspot app. I was wondering if I can use that without being charged or do i have to add that feature through verizon because that is what it says when i start it up. is it just a free service that is added as a perk with this rom or should i stay away from using it?
