I just got the HTC magic last week and have been trying to fix it with tmobile help but they haven't helped. I go then unlocked version of the HTC magic on amazon. Everything on the phone works and I can call and text no problem but I cant get Data. I have the data plan for the phone but I cant get it to work.

The phone didn't have any problems with this before the update.

I love my aria, i got it 9/29/10, for free from best buy because my contract expired... but ive already used 20MB and i only bought a 200MB plan... i might go to 2 gigs, but for an alternate, since my billing cycle ends the 28th of every month... if i disable application syncing, and mobile network from the hold menu... can i connect to my home wifi network, and go on the internet from there without that using any of my data plan?

I unlocked my DROID RAZR M and switched from Verizon to tmobile, now when I attempt to start the noble hotspot i get a subscription error abs it tells me to call Verizon, is there a way around this? I've tried this party apps none will work, the all call up the stock hotspot from Verizon, can it be configured for tmobile?

Decided to gift the phone to my phone and did a factory reset (idiotic move I know) which has now left me in brick status.I have adb set up although it doesn't recognize the phone when it's connected via USB and in Fastboot. Any advice on how to get it recognized?I've checked the SD Card and everything remains in tact (it's readable, has my Nandroid back-up, etc.). The issue is that I can't see to get the computer to recognize the device to go about my backup. Any thoughts / suggestions?

I Installed the latest version of HTCsync, and its running.
When i connect my phone with USB, windows i detecting it, but HTC sync doesnt seem to connect to it. When i try to start the update executable (RUU_Sapphire_Vodafone_NL_1.91.172.1_DRC92_signed_ NoDriver.exe) it ends (after some other screens, and following them to the letter) with the error 107 - USB-connection error.

View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen I connect my phone via USB to my laptop or my desktop using any of the USB ports, my phone blacks out, goes to an Android start graphic, briefly shows the home view then blacks out over and over. It does charge albiet slowly. I turn the phone off so it will charge fully. In addition I get an alert from Windows "USB Device Not Recognized". Works fine when not connected via USB.

Update- Well I got the PC to connect to the phone by updating the HTC sync driver but I still can't use the phone when it is plugged in to the USB. Screen goes dark and none of the buttons function and the charge light is lit.
I was looking to see if it would be possible to get a little more out of my HTC Magic.
1. Is it possible, or is there an app that would allow me to connect to MS Exchange for email? I only need the mails, rather than calendar and contacts.
2. Can I tether with this phone? I use an Apple MacBook Pro that has both Bluetooth and USB connections.
3. Is there an app that would allow me to send files via Bluetoth?
I only just got this HTC magic, and I can't connect with my old Sony Ericsson w890i via bluetooth to send my old contacts across.can anyone help me?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have been a very happy HTC Magic user for exactly 6 months now but then a strange thing happened; I work up new year's day and I could no longer connect to internet or use my apps (and the 'G' network symbol has disappeared from my system tray). I thought the network (SFR in France) may have had a hangover from the night before but no, the problem persisted into day 2. I went into the SFR retail shop on 2 January and the assistant played with every option of my handset's menu for 20 minutes before declaring "I suggest you go home and reinstall the OS from the CD that would have come with the phone".. or at least that's what I think he said as my grasp of French is not absolute. He also offered to send the phone away to reset it or something.
I am convinced, though, I didn't get a CD with the HTC because the box is only half the width of a CD! I recall a USB type cable in the box though. So I turned to these forums and tried the advice given previously by Carl C but that didn't help. I've tried every logical option in the phone's settings (and the 'G' icon does appear for half a second in the system tray after I change/save a setting, before disappearing again) so I'm convinced the problem does not lie there. I am even considering uninstalling some of my recent apps in case they may have inadvertantly caused this problem............
I have an X10 Mini that when new was locked to the Orange UK network but I have since unlocked (but not unbranded) it and now use a different network. Which Android 2.1 update will I need? Generic, Orange or the new network provider? If it is the generic one will this also have the benefit of unbranding the phone and getting rid of Orange apps? If it is the Orange upgrade will the phone become locked to their network again and require unlocking again?I need the phone to stay unlocked for the future.

The phone finds the 4G network, but cannot "obtain an IP address from Sprint".Sprint has been working on the problem, I get atleast 2 phone calls/emails from them daily, to try new things. But at this point, they have not been able to figure it out.At this point, I have to believe it is just a bad phone, but they said they cannot replace it until Friday, which thankfully is almost here.Hopefully no one else will see this problem. It is still showing "S-OFF" when i go to HBOOT.

I know i screwed up royally. My phone boots up to activate account but nothing happens. Is there anything else i can do? I'm going to Oakland tomorrow night for a vacancy and i would hate not having this bad ass phone with me as a DUD.
I got a chinese X12 dual sim phone because i really needed only 1 phone (had to carry around 2 of them).Phone works great, only problem is with the mobile networks. It can connect to GSM networks but it won't connect to a 3G network. The phone has 3G capabilities, 3G is enabled for the required sim, it finds the 3G network but it will not connect to it.
Sim works fine, had it in a Samsung i900 on 3G (WCDMA) The thing that surprises me most is that the phone came with android 4.0 instead of the 2.3.6 it was advertised, could this be the problem?
Today I installed a custom rom for my chinese phone Mlais mx65 everything works fine but, I can't connect to my network with my sim card, and it's weird i tried installing stock rom and other roms
View 8 Replies View Related'm having a problem with my Verizon G2. I had the Xposed framework installed, and I installed an app called Xorware, which is a toggle for 2G/3G/4G. I messed around with the settings in the app a little bit, and left it alone. A bit later, the phone stopped connecting to the mobile data network. I tried uninstalling the Xorware apps, wiping the cache on my phone, and even restoring to a backup where I don't have Xposed installed, and I'm still getting the same issue. Wifi still works, but every couple of minutes it disconnects randomly and then connects again. I also tried removing the SIM card for a few minutes after turning off the phone, and still, no luck.

Why it is more complicated (if you don't know), is that you have to connect to the wifi, then enter your student ID and password into the browser, then you can access the internet.
