When i charge the battery (USB), there is an animation on the screen showing the battery status. Is there any way to turn off thescreen while charging?

When the android device is powered off (shut down completely) and plugged in you can hit the power button briefly. This shows a battery with a certain part shaded in to presumably indicate how charged it is and I suppose if its charging or not. There are some dots below the battery. What do they show? There are 5 dots that progress from left to right (empty are area to full area), does this indicated that the battery is charging? Does the rate of progression indicate how fast its charging? Do the dots do something else if the battery is discharging? Is there are lighting bolt inside the battery if its charging?
I have searched and searched and never seen an explanation of this powered off screen, which are slightly different depending on devices (some have charge indicator (i.e., "90% charged") and some just have the dots, some have lightning bolt inside battery some do not).

My sister has a Samsung Galaxy y phone running Gingerbread 2.3.3 (not rooted). She plugged the phone after it ran out of charge and saw this screen (pic attached) with the battery icon empty and a blue triangle with a crossed out battery symbol inside it. The phone would not power up.
We tried everything : checked charger, plug points, usb charging, taking out battery and cleaning contacts but everything is fine.
I had the phone set that when I was charging the phone the screen stayed on. Now I have done a reboot I can't remember how to set it like that.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI've had this phone for a week now and today it developed something new. When I plug in the battery charger, the touch screen becomes almost entirely non-responsive. When I attempt to slide the Lock Screen away it either won't move or I can get it to slightly move but it bounces right back or even sticks halfway. If I unplug the charger and wait about a minute it's back to working fine again. I've removed the battery a few times now to see if this helped but nothing seems to help. It didn't do this till today. Anyone else run into this problem and if so how did you remedy it?

I mostly charge it by plugging it into my laptop via the usb cable and very few times via wall socket. I was wondering does slow charging via "usb on laptop" damages/degrades battery life? View 7 Replies View RelatedI have had the issue of plugging the phone it at around 9pm when going to bed and it charging to 100% the next morning at around 7:30-8am but as soon as i unplug the charger it drops from 100% to 99 to 97%? Im using the battery circle app to monitor my battery %. I have "calibrated" the battery by using the phone until it shuts it self off then charging it to 100% while its off then unplug it and turn it on and then plugging it back in.
Usually i will get between 15-19+ hours on normal use if i unplug it and plug it back up when it drops suddenly to 9-% in the mornings but if i dont ill get somewhere around 13 hours of life. is there something wrong with the phone, battery or charger?
I want to change the battery charging animation that lights up when the phone is charged while it is still switched-off. I have installed the "BAC lite" to change the boot animation. however, it does not support the change of battery animation.
Looking for path of the system file/folder which must be modded to change the animation? I am using Spice MI 270 (Chinese Model no. MT6516). The android version running on it is Froyo (2.2.1).

View 9 Replies View RelatedI recently noticed my Incredible 2 was only showing the battery life to be 50% after charging it overnight. I switched AC chargers and the problem continued. So I figured the battery was done, for whatever reason, and I ordered a replacement battery from Verizon directly. The replacement battery also only charged to 50% after a full night's charge. So...it's probably an issue with the phone itself. I have Total Equipment Coverage but getting a new phone's a hassle and I like my Incredible 2 (not guaranteed to get another I imagine). I figure it might be the phone's "charging circuitry"...is that easily repairable? I need to have a fully-charging phone in a week or so...

So, I have 3 batteries for my phone. 1 stock (1750mAh) and 2 extended (2000mAh). No I don't need all that juice... its a story for another time. Anyway....
Lately when I charge a battery in the external charger (using a USB cable and the wall plug supplied with the phone) the battery will not fully charge. The LED on the charger will change from red to green (Usually I charge the battery overnight, or while I'm away at work during the day). However when I put the battery in the phone, it will show somewhere between 80%-90% charged.
1) Would a 100% drain and charge reset the battery's "fuel gauge"?
2) My phone automatically powers off at 6% (which is fine, needs enough juice to save current settings and power down properly). Is there a way to truely drain the battery down to 0%? (I'm thinking of some kind of low-voltage lightbulb or LED connected to the positive and negative terminals should drain that down to 0%. Is this recommeneded or is it fine just running it down till the phone powers off?
Normally I try to plug my phone in and charge (or power off and swap batteries) once they hit about 40%-60%. I'm only interested in doing a full drain to see if that will get these batteries to fully charge in the desktop charger. Besides I've read from a few sources that it is GOOD for the battery to do this once in a while (Fully drain, charge to100%) to properly maintain them.
And as a side note, charging the battery in the phone (either with the wall plug or from USB cable on my computer) will always result in a 100% charge, which makes me thing the issue is with the desktop unit itself (perhaps faulty circuit that cuts off charge current when it thinks its full ?)

I am having issues with my droid 2 global, bootloader is stuck at "MEM_MAP blank" which i can fix easily, but a really irritating issue is happening...
I am stuck at "Battery Low, Cannot Program". Now dont tell me that i need to charge it! ive had it plugged in for hours. usually it takes 1 hour to get 0% to 100% battery. i was inatlling the cyanogen mod and i did exactly what it said, but it said "Pull out the battery and press "X" and power back" or something like that. so i just got mad and left the device alone, then when i turned the device back on, i got "MEM_MAP blank". No problem. but then i noticed it flashing that i needed to charge it,, several hours later of charging. still have low battery, ive tried to boot into recovery, no luck, i have a external dock if that information is useful, i dont need support on the mem map, just this charging issue.
I have a Micromax A110 with the details in my signature. I flashed the ROM of a different Jellybean phone since it was the same and rebranded model.
After my phone drained out of battery, it wasn't charging even though I connected it with the charger. The phone wasn't being detected through USB also. So, I used an external battery charger and the pushed it in the device and it started up.
I usually charge my phone over night and I have never had any problems. Last night my phone didn't charge and I woke up to a 15% charge. I figured that I must have knocked the charger out of the outlet, so I just took it to work with me to let it charge today. It's been charging for almost an hour and there is still no change in the charge (now it's at 10%). When I go under settings and look at battery use, I see that I have "1d 0h 18m 22s on battery." I don't know if my phone is just incorrectly reading my battery or something.

For example, I have a Galaxy Note 2 running Jellybam and every time I turn the power off and plug it to a charger it friezes at the charging screen where there's a turning circle. Therefore, I just want to find away to get rid of the old charging screen and add a new one to try to fix the problem. Where the charging screen files locate in the root and where can I find the custom one to replace it. I've tries Nomoarpower from Chainfire but it seems doesn't work even the system files are installed as after the power is off it always brings me back to the frozen charging screen instead of the new one.

someone told me because mobile is duos, may be you have only two gateway, when WiFi is one with access of data plan of two Sim cards, may be doing conflict, actually last week I switch data plan access between two Sims last week and I think this problem came with this action, I delete APN access points from one of two Sims but it didn't solve this problem.
I think I hit something while I was asleep and deactivating my alarm clock. My phone has this stupid blue screen with shortcuts on the bottom. I want to return to the standard home screen. In addition, whenever I try to make a call the phone makes the call with my speakerphone activated. It's a Galaxy SII Skyrocket.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI've got a new Sony Z1 Compact (Great phone by the way!)I wanted to make use of the magnetic charging port so picked up a dock, a couple of cables and a couple of USB -> Magnetic charger adaptors.The cables works absolutely fine and charges away very happily.My dock, and my USB -> Magnetic charger adaptor however both try to put the device into Dock mode.
That in itself works OK, but the problem comes when I want the screen to stay "OFF".The phone will constantly wake itself up - about once every 90 seconds or so.The screen comes on, and then times out and goes black again.It's almost as if someone was pressing the "power" button.
As I was writing this I have been trying using the "Daydream" feature to just show a black image.This also doesn't work... every 90 seconds or so it will return to the home screen before fading back to the daydream screen.
My galaxy Blaze screen glitches and is not usable wen itz charging.

I've had it hooked up to my USB port for nearly 8 hours and the battery is still only 10%, and as i post this thread i got a message "Battery is low. the charging current is not enough for device power consumption. please switch to AC power" I nly have a USB cable here at the office. is this low current USB the cause of poor charging? the phone is getting very warm too.

After having the phone charging all night by my bedside, I wake up, take the phone off the charger, and immediately it drops from 100% to 90%. Sometimes higher..sometimes lower. Today it went to 88%. The phone is plugged in for 8-9 hours.
Is my battery not getting a complete charge? Does the battery stop charging at 100 and begin discharging from there even while plugged in? This happens with my by EVO battery, and the backup battery from my old Hero. Just wondering if anyone else is seeing this issue.
