I had to factory reset my phone.
Now I want to make a new backup using Helum but the app keeps asking for the Desktop Backup Password. I thought that this one should be reset (i.e. deleted) after a factory reset but I can't set a new one.
Is there a way to reset this without doing another factory reset?

Whenever I try to make a backup using carbon it says I'd need to set the desktop backup password blank, but I already tried that a few times and it always gives me the same error. What do I need to do to make it work? I'm using an xperia s on ics.

View 4 Replies View RelatedHaving owned 11 different Android phones/tablets since 2010, I have a gazillion apps listed in my Google Play Store account. I know it is possible to individually delete apps from my phone/tablet, but for the love of all things telephony, once you delete an app it takes you back to the frickin' top of the list. I thought there would be a simple way to do this by going to the Play Store on my laptop, but for the life of me I can't figure out how to get rid of them. I realize it is not a big deal, but being the obsessive person that I am, once I try to do something.
When I log into my Google Play Store account on my laptop and go to "My Apps", it lists all the apps that I have ever downloaded, but there doesn't appear to be a way to delete them like there is on a device!
My One X has been horrible with battery so I took it upon myself to reset it back to factory. I exported my texts to an email through the phone and I figured everything else was being backed up to my gmail account like it states in the 'backup and reset" section. But low and behold, I've got squat coming back after doing a reset. Is there some special trick to restoring a backup or am I hosed?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've recently done a factory reset and now Titanium Backup crashes every time I try and backup/restore an app. It used to work fine but now I've reinstalled it and copied the 'TitaniumBackup' folder (that contains the backups) to where it was, so everything is as it was pre factory reset.
The uninstalled apps show up as normal with a line through, but if I select one it hangs momentarily and I get an error (Unfortunately Titanium Backup has stopped. Report/OK). I've cleared app data and uninstalled/reinstalled TB. This also happens if I select an app that I haven't previously uninstalled, so it's not just having a problem with my backup files.
I got a rooted device installed clockworkmod recovery. just wondering if I do a factory reset in clockworkmod recovery will i loose root? Im using super su. If i do a factory reset from the phone when it's on super su and root still remain. Thats what i want.

I am using XOLO A1000. Recently I experienced a problem in my phone.The rear camera option got disappeared from camera function. I can use only front camera. I contacted XOLO care and they suggested me to apply FACTORY DATA RESET option.
Now I am ready to reset the phone but before that I need to take full backup of my phone. There is no software / tool is being provided by the company. find a software / tool which can take full backup (contacts, msg, apps, photos, settings, etc...) and restore as well without rooting the phone?

I cleaned a bunch of files with Titanium Backup and have have backups of the uninstalled apps which include my default gallery (I had another gallery app), Homescreen Launcher and some others.
By mistakenly I reset my phone to factory settings and now after resetting I cannot access any functions. Since I had deleted the launcher. I am having the files of the launcher though but since the phone has USB Debugging turned off and Google Account not set, I am not able to do anything!! Is there any update.zip kind of file to reinstall the launcher? I am using Motorola Fire XT311 which has locked bootloader so no Nandroids too !!

Is there a way to delete messages on the Droid without deleting them on the email server? My Curve would allow me to do this. My wife and I use the same email, and she gets bombarded with mail that clutters my phone. BB made it easy to delete only on the handheld, but I don't see any such option on the Droid.

I manage all of my contacts and calendar in Outlook on my PC, and I've been using AppBrain for tracking my downloaded apps so I'm not worried about that stuff. I plan on backing up my most used programs with their built in export functions. I have no problem re-doing most of my phone's settings. Is there any way to back up my custom scenes? I was wondering if now that I have root there is a way to install a boot password similar to the one I have on my computer. Before it loads the operating system, the BIOS asks for a password. Is there any similar functionality for android?
