Samsung Fascinate :: How To Do A Factory Reset Within Clockwork?

Nov 11, 2010

Anyone know how to do a factory reset within Clockwork? When you hold the up/down volume rocker + power button you get the following options: Android System recovery (2e) Samsung Recovery Utils -for BML -
reboot system
apply sdcard:update.zip
wipe data/factory reset
wipe cache partion
If i select 3 - wipe data/factory reset will that only do a "factory reset" If i select apply sdcard:update. zip, in Clockworkmod i get another option to wipe data/factory reset Which is the one i should use? and by doing so is this equivalent to "Factory Reset" within Android (selecting the factory reset check box)?

General :: Any Way To Remove Factory Reset Option From Recovery?

Dec 20, 2013

I'm on a team that manages a large number of Android tablets for the company at which I'm employed. The higher ups are concerned that our users will just walk off with the tablets and do a factory reset, making the device theirs. I was hoping there was some way to password-protect the bootloader, but it doesn't seem like that's possible. So now we're thinking that even if we could remove the recovery, it would ease the minds of the higher-ups to know that if a tablet disappears, the user will have to have a working knowledge of fastboot to be able to to a factory reset on the device, and that's good enough for us. I've looked into possibly modifying the stock recovery to just remove the factory reset option, and I would be willing to flash a modified CWM or TWRP without factory reset, if either of them exist.

I know the old adage: Physical access is root access, but if we can at least dissuade them from stealing the devices, it would make my bosses feel much more at ease about spending a buttload on the tablets.

General :: Rooted Verizon Galaxy S4 Won't Boot After Factory Data Reset

Apr 16, 2014

My galaxy s4 has recently been very slow so I thought that I would try a factory data reset to clear some things up. However, my phone is rooted. Now when I looked around on some other forums it seemed as though that I didn't have to worry about factory resetting the phone while it was rooted. But when I went ahead and did so it no longer will boot. Its stuck in the boot loop/download mode/ whatever you may call it. I can't seem to flash a recovery file through Odin either. My phone is gone now.

General :: Factory Reset Caused Boot Loop On Lenovo A830

Sep 28, 2013

I had to install a new firmware for my Lenovo A830, and I did a factory reset. However, it caused my device to reboot all the time - I can't even access the recovery mode. Here's the boot logo of the recovery after which the phone reboots. Here's the image: [URL] .......

It appears for 2-3 seconds, and the device reboots again. Also, it doesn't matter whether I press the combination of keys for the recovery mode or pressing the power button - I always get this boot logo. The only way to shutdown the phone is to remove the battery.

Maybe to reinstall the recovery mode somehow? Or to clean up the whole internal memory from PC? The only thing is that because of the constant reboots I can't access USB (just for the 2-3 seconds until the next reboot).

I don't want to reset my phone if its not necessary. Also the SD card, can it have anything on it prior to root, or does it have to be formatted(blank)? I'm close to giving up.

HTC Incredible :: Root After Factory Reset?

Jul 25, 2010

I had a Droid Incredible, rooted, no custom ROMs installed. I sold the phone. Before I did, I did a factory reset, to remove my data from the phone but maintain root status for the new user. The guy who bought the phone from me is having trouble accessing the mobile network now. We had a devil of a time just activating the phone on his number. Verizon helped us manually activate it eventually. Anyway, any ideas what might be causing the problem? I've sent him directions for unrooting the phone to see if that fixes it. Any other suggestions or ideas why it might have happened?

Motorola Droid :: Factory Reset And Updates / Applications / Root

Jan 25, 2010

There's a lot of instructions floating around for unrooting the droid and what makes the most sense to me is to let the phone handle factory reset thereby bringing the phone back to its original out of the box configuration. By reset I'm referring to booting with power+x vol up+camerra and choosing factory reset from the list. Can someone who's done the reset on a rooted phone confirm that SU permissions are gone after? Also, does the reset delete all apps, system settings and user data and bring the phone back to a true factory state (including going back to OS 2.0)?
