View 1 Replies View RelatedWill the Droid always only have 3 screens or is there an application or upgrade that will be available soon? And second, I've heard rumors of the iPhone T-Pain app coming for android soon.
View 3 Replies View RelatedIs there a way of increasing the number of screens available on the homescreen. I currently use all 7 which is already generous, but I am greedy for more...! Is this possible?

In Gingerbread, I could click menu button at my home screen and choose "Edit" and all my desktop screen will minimize and I can add screen or remove screen (including all widgets and shortcuts) just by dragging the screen to the bottom where it says Remove.
I could not find any way to do this in ICS?
How do i remove some of the home screens? there are like 7 right now, and i would like to have just 3. how to do this? I use CM9 with LG UI 3.0.

I have a screen where you can enable/disable modules for my Android application.
For this I use a CheckboxPreference screen. This is all good, but the summary field gets cut off if longer descriptions are added than 2 lines.
Suppose I have 4-5 lines of description available for each module, I would like to display this in a helper window.
I tried to bind a click event to the CheckboxPreference, but that fires for the whole line, so not only when the checkbox is clicked, and more, wherever you click on the line the checkbox is toggled.
So now I am wondering if this can be fixed. So if the user needs more info, just taps the text and the helper opens up, and if want to toggle the settings it taps the checkbox.
I would like to disable/remove some of my unused homescreens. However, I don't want a program that completely hijacks my interface. So far I have tried pando, ahome, and open home. Can anyone suggest a way for me to delete some empty homescreens while not hijacking my interface.
View 1 Replies View RelatedAs you can see in the link below there is an extra padding (around 2mm) below the EditText field. I can't seem to remove this padding in anyway. This occurs with other widgets as well (like Buttons). It looks like Android is default adding this extra padding to all elements.

I found this online while researching how to remove bloatware off my phone. It's written for the Samsung Moment, but is there any reason why this wouldn't work for the Incredible? Removing stock apps with Root Explorer Tutorial @ Tutorial - Talking about Gadget and Computer Freak I am also seeing many people who use Titanium Backup to remove unwanted app's. It seems that Titanium will only delete them, not move them, but if you know you'll never want it again wouldn't that be okay? For app's like CityID or VZ Nav that you will never use or want?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've been looking everywhere and I haven't found an answer still and it is frustrating the hell out of me.
When I go to messages, it lists a ton of e-mail addresses and duplicate names etc etc. When I go to people, these are not listed.
It seems like it is listing every single e-mail address i have ever e-mailed from my gmail account. How do I get rid of this??
For example: John Jones is not listed in "people". But if I go into messages, and check the contact list, it will show two entries:
"john jones: johnjones@gmail.com"
"john jones: johnjones@yahoo.com"
I was able to remove all of the facebook contacts it automatically added, which was stupid to begin with.
I created a custom dialog that I'm dynamically putting views into via a RelativeLayout. Every time the dialog is displayed, it shows all my child views just great, but it has some space at the top that I can not account for. I'm assuming this is reserved for a "title" of the dialog (which I won't have). Is there a way to remove that space and have my custom dialog just wrap the contents that I'm putting in?
here is the xml for the layout: Code...
no matter what I do or how I change the layout file, I always have that buffer at the top, how can I get rid of that?
I am trying to remove some of these stock apps like cityid and amazonmp3. What I did was created a folder on my SD "deleted" and I was copying the applications I didnt not want from /system/app. So I moved amazonmp3.adk and cityid.apk to the deleted folder. When I look in the app folder they are gone but when I look under my apps from the home screen they are still there. So I reboot and when i go back into /system/app the apps are mysteriously back.
View 1 Replies View RelatedDoes anyone know how to remove the stock apps using root explorer? I search for the app and delete the .apk but the app stays in my app drawer after reboot. What am i doing wrong?
View 8 Replies View RelatedI am new to this (less than a week) and I removed everything with root explorer (and it was so simple). You can get it from the market. I would recommend it if you are not used to linux commands. It was well worth the two dollars for me. The main thing to know is r/w (read/write) vs. r/o (read only). It is just as it says - r/o will only let you read files, while r/w will let you read AND write files (which includes move and delete).

Any help here, where do you set the number of screens in ADW?
I must be totally spacing out here.
Droid Explorer
Check This Tool Out I Found! Android is Getting Convenient
Droid Explorer is a tool to manage your rooted android device with the simplicity of Windows Explorer. You can browse every file on your Android device, much like the infamous app "Root Explorer" does. I think this is very much so a handy tool for those that are in need of removing some software....like the bloatware that comes preintalled. Some of you may even want to add stuff, like Google Maps and so on. Try it out!!
I highly recommend standalone for Windows users.....

What are the advantages of root explorer over estrongs file explorer?
View 6 Replies View RelatedTwo things I'd like to be able to do with my incredible.First is reduce the number of homescreens. Seven is really pointless for me, it makes finding the right screen take a little longer and there's just not enough good quality widgets that I need to use. I could do better with 5 and possibly just 3.Second is that when I'm not on a homescreen and I hit the home button, I'd like it to go back to the LAST homescreen I was on, not the center one. And if I'm already on a homescreen, once again pull up the homescreen select menu, instead of going to the center homescreen. It's a waste of a button press to always go to that center screen when pressing the home button.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI just got a new EVO 4G. I've been an Apple guy for the last 4 years (iPhone, iPhone 3G, iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4) and I will say so far I'm liking the switch over. Most people I have in my address bok I have multiple contact numbers for them. For example, Mobile, Work, Home
When I click on there contact name it shows up to call each number but then to also message each number. I was wondering if I can manually remove the Work and Home numbers as being "messagable". So only the Mobile number will have the message button.
In my handcent i put a few numbers on the blacklist so i wouldnt see them texting me and such. it works perfect but now i want them off the blacklist so i can see when they text me and such. how do i remove them ?

Does anyone know how I can change something in the settings to remove the +1 in front of all of my incoming numbers?
Example: +1(555)555-5555
When someone leaves me a message and i press callback it calls that number and Verizon wont recognize that +1 extension in front of the area code.
