I am using the application LINK2SD for transferring my applications to SD card. But what I see is, there is some memory still used from the phone memory even after moving that application.
So, I want to know what can be the reason for that and is there any way to move that data part to SD card?
this is not making any sense in rooting the device as still my phone memory gets low.

after I failed trying to install jaggydzire/blackjack, my explorer can't mount my sd card anymore, i can get to recovery but i can't install any ROM, tried the fastboot oem enableqxdm 0 but nothing happened..my sd card is working, i formatted it using a pc, but still i can't mount it in my phone...what else should i do?

At first empty ad card was working hood then when I used up a few gb and re inserted the sd card the problem began After 5-10 seconds of mounting sd it goes out and phone shows that sd is removed unexpectedly, sometimes my phone hangs in this cycle and reboots(starts again from bootanimation part) This sd works fine with other things like my Sony cybershot w-x50

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have tried a lot of custom Roms. I'm on Neat ROM Lite now. Not sure which ROM changed my file access permission settings to cause this problem but I'm not able to delete any files from my external memory card. I was able to delete when I was on stock rom. The other problem is for a few apps I get an error message which says can't install on usb/sd card. I have posted this in another thread some time back but got no response.
This is what my file permission looks like.
I am able to delete when my fone is connected to PC via USB. So I don't think it has anything to do with a faulty sd card.
I am trying to remove some of these stock apps like cityid and amazonmp3. What I did was created a folder on my SD "deleted" and I was copying the applications I didnt not want from /system/app. So I moved amazonmp3.adk and cityid.apk to the deleted folder. When I look in the app folder they are gone but when I look under my apps from the home screen they are still there. So I reboot and when i go back into /system/app the apps are mysteriously back.

The long story:The problem I am trying to overcome is copying of images from my computer to my phone without changing the creation date (for sorting purposes). When copying from my computer to my device this attribute changes an thus all images have the same date and there is no way of making any sense of which picture was taken when.
So my plan is to get access to the images on my device, after altering there dates, and use a program which will change the creation date from the modification date (which holds the original date taken of the pictures).
What are the advantages of root explorer over estrongs file explorer?

Anyways, I've been reading that you cannot install applications to the SD card of a Nexus One, only to the very small 512mb internal memory. I got an HTC Explorer around a month ago and quickly found out how useless it was with the miniscule amount internal storage HTC decided to provide me with. So I quickly found jaggyjags' rooting tutorial found here: http:[url]....
All went well and I was happy with the phone, until some of the apps started bloating and I went a little too far with link2sd and tried to convert the com.htc app into a user app, which ended disastrously. Pretty much every process failed or had an error, so I tried restarting the phone and found myself in a boot-loop.
I then succesfully got into HBOOT and then into recovery. So I decided to try installing jaggyjags' custom ROM. After taking out my SD card to connect to my computer and copy jaggyjags' rom to, I got back into HBOOT, but could not get into recovery anymore. All the phone did was get stuck on the HTC screen.
After leaving it on the screen to see if it would eventually make it to recovery, I discovered that the phone is now dead and won't even charge. I'm not sure if it's because the battery might be dead or some other reason.
is there a reason that you can only move certain apps? i figured you could move any downloaded app.

I presume one might want to move apps to the SD card to "free up some space" but is that the ONLY reason to move the apps to the card?? Is anyone NOT WAITING until space on the phone is an issue and moving the apps to the card right now?? Are there certain apps that are recommended to be on the phone for proper/faster performance? (I know this was an issue with the Palm Centro I used to have where certain apps HAD TO reside on and launch from the phone)?? my htc explorer is behaving weirdly. volume down button is keep on pressing itself. I tried to restart the phone then it went to boot menu. after restarting couple of more times now the phone is on but the volume down button is on keep on pressing itself. during the call the volume button is keep on pressing down itself and cant able to hear others voice. I flashed the official nightly build of CyanogenMod on my Samsung Galaxy Ace.
The root explorer just closes when I try to open it. So I removed it, and installed it via an apk, same issue.
And when I download it from the market, it says it's "Purchased", but when I try to download it, it gives me a 403 error.
Htc has recently released desire s model which is almost same as htc explorer architecture wise... as you would be knowing that it has ice cream sandwich and sense 4.0 ..
So I was wondering if it could be easily ported for explorer...
or Any developer already on this project ??
