General :: HTC Desire VC - Accidentally Formatted System Folder With Recovery Mode

Sep 8, 2012

My HTC Desire VC (T328d) was rooted and running Android OS 4.0.3 (ics).

In recovery mode, I accidentally formatted /system folder (from internal phone memory). This is because the recovery mode is all in chinese language and I did a huge mistake. The phone cannot boot showing HTC logo screen and no boot sound.

I've downloaded the kernel for this device at htcdev.com.I can enter recovery mode. My friend has the same device and his is not rooted yet.

Aug 31, 2010

I was sitting at my desk and work and saw the "System Update" notification pop up on my phone. I grabbed my phone, stood up, and showed my coworker. Unfortunately, in doing so I accidentally pressed "Update Now." I had planned to post-pone the update until I got home so I could Unrevoked Forever and S-Off. It's currently in the middle of installing (little ! icon w/ the Android guy next to it). I guess I'm going to lose my root. Any idea how long I'll have to wait to gain it back?

Placed cyanogen onto the 4gb sd card which came with the phone.Power off the device. Rebooted whilst holding the volume down button. Got the options up. Navigated to recovery and selected it with the power button. The screen goes blank. The o2 screen comes up saying welcome and thats it, it freezes. I have to pull the battery out of the back in order to reset the device and then it starts up perfectly normal. Tried accessing recovery mode using the clockworkmod but i get the same result. All of the points on the link above were followed. HTC Desire :: Phone Give Black Screen Of Death When Try To Enter Recovery Mode

Aug 2, 2010

I recently tried to root my HTC desire using UNrevoked 3.1. Everything was going well and I even had the desktop gui tell me that the process was "done", however the phone never made it into the green and black recovery menu, and now when I try and enter the recovery menu the phone gives a black screen. I then have to do a hard reset by taking out the battery. I have tried running unrevoked again with the same results and have tried using Rom manager to enter recovery this way, niether of which have helped.

I've spent alot of time searching without answers, if any one thinks they can help or just point me in the right direction I would be very grateful.

I have installed ADB and the whole Android SDK to root my asus transformer infinity (tf700t). I have taken all the steps every forum on the web describes: installing everything trough the manager, adjusting the path in the System Variables, and finally it getting it to work together with my tablet. However, when I try to flash/copy/install files from my folder (yes these files are in the same folder as adb.exe and fastboot.exe, which is the folder I used in the System Variables) It can't either find these files or it cannot open these files. When i put in the command 'path' however. I does give me the path where the files can be found.

HTC Desire : Carrier-Installed Apps - Find The System/apps Folder

Sep 23, 2010

I have recently purchased an unlocked HTC Desire. As you may or may not know, here in Australia the only carrier of the Desire is Telstra. However I use 3 mobile so that's the reason I purchased an unlocked device.

My problem is that my phone has about a dozen or more apps which are installed by Telstra and uninstallable. Most of them are 100% useless because I'm not even on their network and I'd like them out of my applications list.

I've had a read around and I saw something about being able to remove them by deleting the file and then uninstalling them using a command prompt program.

Would anyone please be able to give me detailed instructions on how to do this because I'm not sure how to find the system/apps folder and I'm also not sure on how to get the command prompt thing to work.

Phone: UK Galaxy S Issue: Recovery boot error message in red writing

Multicsc : can not access to / system/csc/VOD/system/

Background: I have been trying to root my phone from information found in a youtube video. All went well and the little ninja bloke with the sniper rifle was in the app list. Tried installing busybox and was told that the phone was not rooted´┐Ż..

I think I ran the root application again and at some point I started getting this error message when in recovery. I have since run the one click root method to unroot the phone and the little nija dude is no longer there. Since I rooted the phone it will no longer connect to my wireless network, it finds the network and attempts to obtain an ip address. After a few min it times out and tries again. When I load the phone recovery the error message is still present.
