General :: Galaxy Ace 2 - SD Card Unreadable

I've got a Samsung Galaxy Ace 2 since 4 months. From the start it has had several issues with the micro sd card.
The first problem came out of nowhere, from one moment to another the sd card had became unreadable, not even my laptop would recognize is. It was working just fine before.
So i bought a new card, this was working fine for a while, but all of a sudden my Gallery wouldn't show anything on it from after a certain date. (The files, like photo's are there and readable with laptop or Quickpic gallery.)
Today came the latest and most severe problem, my telephone stopped working. it became very slow, going back to the 'main screen'/locking itself/ just black screen at random. When i took out the sd card it worked fine, i put i back in.. and the problems start again after a few minutes. i've taken it out again and the phone's been working fine for a couple of hours now.

I'm loving my new Note 2, and hating my formerly loved Macbook Pro. The latest in a series of fails is this: I have a 64gb sandisk sdhc card that was working in the Note just perfectly, but the macbook could not read it via its card reader (or any other way, really). Like a fool, I tried reformatting it in the mac's disk utility. That failed halfway through, and the card will no longer mount in my Note 2. Thus, I can't format it there, at least in any way I know of.
How I might be able to reformat the card, it would be lovely. I heard about a windows app called bootlce, but I don't have bootcamp set up right now (and my only windows copy is xp, not sure if that would see the card either).

Just a word of warning - I installed the OTA update when it popped up and it installed just fine. However, my SD card is now completely useless. I cannot read it from my phone or computer. It doesn't even show that it is there. I lost all my photos and music. Bummer! Learn from my experience and remove the SD card before installing the update, just in case.

I turned on my phone this morning to find a message that my SD card was unreadable. I've so far had no luck recovering anything. I'm about to format it and see if a recovery program will have any luck then. Right now it doesn't even recognize the card. Has this happened to anyone else?

how can i make my songs (.mp3) to have recognizable characters at every android media player. Let me make clear to you that non-english characters (greek letters) at my songs are nearly unreadable at players. Media players play such songs normally but i can not read their IDE tags (for example: individual artist's name, album's name, e.t.c....) Every android file explorer can identify their name, (so windows 7 do) but not the android players ( i have tested almost every media player available in market, now i am using miui player with the same problem). I have HTC magic with CM7.2 and the problem is with greek letters in songs which they appear to me as chinese ones and therefore i am not able to make playlists, choose a specific song from my list...

I have a file from a free Android app that holds a list of URLs in a separate file that the app reads. I wanted to get the list of URLs, but I don't know how to open the file.URL....Trying in wordpad or such just shows it's all encrypted in some manner.

just got a galaxy s4 phone a week ago! The thing is I have my music on the phone and it is taking up a lot of space plus I love to take lots of photos. I would like to get a 64gb sd card what is the best brand? and I would perfer to get it on amazon. I see that samaung has one and sandisk I am guessing it is better to go with samsung sd card?

I used Notpod to transfer music into my Galaxy S2 in the SD Card file but after I disconnected there was a notification saying "Media Scanner Running" And after it finished scanning it gave me a notification that the SD Card have been damaged, try reformatting. I formatted the SD card and proceed to redo the whole thing again only to get the same messaged. I've restarted my phone, I've took the SD card out and put it back in but nothing seems to work.

Got a bad SD on Desire and some photos corrupted unreadable, I copy the content to PC and then format the card, and then copy back everything to the card, but some photos still unreadable and shown as dark, the total photos count doubled due to corrupted FAT I guess, now I got a new SD what should I do, how do I copy things over to it and fix the FAT?

I had a 2 gig sd card and put an 8 gig into it and formated it using the android OS and it says I have 7.4 gigs but all of my external PC device managers like ******** say I only have 1.7 gigs and it won't let me put more then 1.7 gigs onto it.
It's a Samsung Galaxy W and on the phone under sd card it says I have 7.4 gigs and in windows explorer it says I have 7.4 gigs. but the phone says I only have 1.7 gigs of usb storage, and when I upload mp3's it uses up that 1.7 gigs.

have managed to root my phone successfully and do the resurrection install but my problem is everytime i try to download an mp3 app it tells me it cant access USB storage or SD card and wont install it i've tried with USB debugging on and off but doesnt work.

I see a ton of questions about how to put apps onto your SD Card. I'm looking for the opposite.
I'm on Android 4.3 Galaxy Note 3 (ATT) and suddenly I started to see one or two recently installed apps turn into grey icons that say SD on them. I removed my SD card and then suddenly I noticed all~ of my recently installed apps turn into grey icons and when I tap on them - it goes to the google play store and says the apps have not been installed. Upon reinserting the card, the apps return.
What gives? I don't want this and it just started happening out of nowhere.

Today my phone (Galaxy S Blaze) randomly could not detect my sim card. I checked it to see if it had moved out of place and I restarted the phone but to no fix. I know that the sim card is working because I tried it in a friend's Galaxy S 4G and it worked fine. I tried to hold the sim against the contacts to see if it wasn't making contact but it still didn't work.

I have a SAMSUNG Galaxy SII, and a Sandisc 16 GB HD micro SD card, 3 days ago I noticed a notification that says:"SD card blank or has unsupported filesystem"
I tried several times to take it off and put it back but with no luck, I put the card in the card reader & connected it to my laptop, the laptop (windows 7) did't recognized it either, and it suggested to do FORMAT to the card, So I did, and choose to format to FAT32 system..I was sure that recovery programs will recover my photos and videos...
I tried 4 programs to recover them, no single photo was recovered, it just looks like a brand new Sd card now...the card now is working normally now...

After I flashed the latest firmware with ODIN my phone doesn't read sd cards anymore and when I go to "SD card and phone storage" in settings I see "unavailable" in total space and free space for both sdcard and USB storage.

I am having a problem getting my galaxy tab 10.1 to recognize a usb flash drive I have connected via an adapter. I know it works because it detected a wireless mouse I connected to it, and it shows up when I use dmesg or lsusb in the terminal. The thing is that none of the file explorers I've used (Es, Astro) are able to detect the files I have on it. The usb drive is formatted to fat32; would it be more likely to detect it if I formatted it to ext3 or ext4?

I've a rooted Samsung Galaxy Ace GT-S5830I and I've been looking for a post that explains how to partition my sd card correctly and i've learnt that you can't S-OFF Samsung phones. If you can't S-OFF Samsung phones how do I partition my sd card? My internal memory keeps running out I've to un-install apps all the time.

I have a galaxy y pro. It's still functional and I want to add useful apps in it. Unfortunately for a smartphone it only has 160mb internal memory.
It's already rooted.
How do I turn my sd card into the internal memory?
That way if I download apps like zombie run it goes directly to the sd card.

Ive had this micro sd card for at least 4 months. Its 32gb. I was using it on my galaxy s4 and it worked perfect. A week ago i got a galaxy note 3 and used it on my note 3 and worked perfect until yesterday every time i locked the screen, when i unlocked it it would say card was removed and like seconds later it sayd card inserted and installing. Then it would work. And everytime i lockd and unlockd the phone it would happen until it stopped working. I tryd putting the 32gb card on another phone and it didnt work. I tryd a different card on the note 3 and it worked. Only the 32gb stopped working. Ive restartd the phone. Took out the battery. Took out the sd card and put it in again and nothing worked. I tryd puttin the sd card on the computer and it doesnt even give me a signal that i inserted the card. Nothing happens. Oh and i forgot to say it stopped working and then after like 10 mins it came back working until the screen Got locked again and when i unlocked it then that was it, the card was gone and hasnt given any signal since then. Not even on the computer. I didnt download anything to the card or done anything that could of done this. It Just happend.

I recently bought an S4 and all was well until I decided to start using the phone to listen to music. Whenever I listen to music on the phone after a minute or two I get a message saying "SD Card removed unexpectedly". This message continues to display until I restart the phone or physically remove the SD Card and re insert. The SD Card is 64GB so it shouldn't be a compatibility issue.

I bought a samsung galaxy xcover 2 2 weeks ago, and i realized that theres nothing to do to transfer/download straight to sd card. I called to Samsung support in finland and they said that i have to format the sd card and after that you can transfer some very few applicatoins to sd card but however i have not managed to transfer even one application. I have tried app2sd and searched around the internet in order to find some way to transfer apps to sd card. I found from youtube some kind of way, but there was like downloading some program to computer and then connecting the sd card and phone separately to computer and then giving some commands to computer and copy and cut and clicking thousands folders and some more stuff i didnt really understand the whole thing was really complicated. I am starting to be really frustrated for this problem or whatever it is, its just stupid to even put this kind of faulty "function" to any kind of smart phone. In every other way samsung galaxy xcover 2 is very excellent and easy to use, but i think transfering apps to sd is very important function/tool. How to transfer apps to sd in Samsung galaxy xcover 2.

I have put all of my music on my SD card (all 55Gb of it) but only about 300 of my 4500 songs will actually play!Most of them get a playback error.
I notice it groups all of the songs that don't work in a folder with an unknown artist. I have yet to work out why this does this as most if not all of my music has all the track information in it.
I even went as far to convert all of my songs to mp3 to see if that made a difference. It didn't, it actually made it worse..I cannot have my music collection on my phone I am going to sell my S4 and buy another iPhone.

just changed my rom to 10.1 cm, but even that i changed my ringtone to a different one from my sdcard, and it is saving my choice - when someone calls me - it doesn't play that song.if i change it to the deafault ringtones of the device - it changes, but not with my music files.
