have managed to root my phone successfully and do the resurrection install but my problem is everytime i try to download an mp3 app it tells me it cant access USB storage or SD card and wont install it i've tried with USB debugging on and off but doesnt work.

I am having a problem getting my galaxy tab 10.1 to recognize a usb flash drive I have connected via an adapter. I know it works because it detected a wireless mouse I connected to it, and it shows up when I use dmesg or lsusb in the terminal. The thing is that none of the file explorers I've used (Es, Astro) are able to detect the files I have on it. The usb drive is formatted to fat32; would it be more likely to detect it if I formatted it to ext3 or ext4?

View 1 Replies View RelatedSo the other day I was trying Cyanogenmod 9 on my galaxy pocket, however I didnt realize it wasn't an official release and it was REALLY bugged and I made a huge mistake because i forgot to install CWM. Thing is installed this rom and I belive i pretty much bricked my phone because now I can't get access to any of my networks, wi-fi, bluetooth, or usb mass storage or my sd card are not being recognized either...
What I've tried so far was sending the stock rom through Quick ADB Pusher, but it tells me that even though my phone appears to be root It wont allow it to access, then I tried different ways to root and unroot because apparently SU is not giving me the permissions. So finally tried my last option with ADB and was trying an adb push but I keep getting permision denied if I send it to /root or read only file if I send it to /system also tried Asb shell $su but I keep getting a denied message.
After rooting my phone and using an app called "GL to SD" I am unable to access internal storage, I even did a factory reset and that didn't fix it. I should reinstall that app and use some restore function however I'm unable to install/download apps unless I have .apk file, so any method to get this apk [URL] ......

View 7 Replies View RelatedRecently I started using 32GB card with my Micromax Canvas HD and everything is working only for when I try to connect my mobile to PC for file transfer via usb storage I can see only two drive one of CD drive of mmx and other internal sd drive and I can see one more drive but it is not mounted which is my external sd drive when clicked on it, it asked to enter disk.
Solution tried so far by me
1. I have erase external sd card in mobile itself.
2. Reset the entire phone.
3. Uninstalled the mmx driver on my PC and reinstalled it.
are they both NAND Flash storage device? the only difference is that the inner one is fixed to the device and difficult to remove from device, while the sd cards are removable, any other differences?

View 4 Replies View RelatedBricked my Maxell Maxtab C8 while trying to exchange the Internal USB storage with the SD Card. The only thing that happens when it boots is that the Android Boot logo comes up and stays there forever. I have managed to get it in some kind of recovery mode (image of cute green little android laying on it's back with with a red triangle), have also managed to install Android SDK manager and issued the command "adb devices" in shell - reporting "{serialnumber} recovery".
I need firmware to put on the device, where I can find that? Does not need to be original (4.1.1), I'm satisfied if I get it to work again.
As far as I know it's some kind of MID tabled branded Maxell, at least it said that in the settings while it still worked, and also Windows claimed that.
Yesterday I received my Huawei Honor 3C and I've installed MIUI ASAP instead of Emotion UI. Everything's great but I have a problem with double SD Card, I mean: I have my own external card and the phone got his own by emulating it's internal storage as SD Card (it's a symlink to /storage/emulated/0 and it's the same as /storage/emulated/legacy, so this fake sd is eating up my storage, there are also other symlinks in /storage/, /mnt/ and even in root folder there is a symlink sdcard->/storage/emulated/legacy). Phone and apps are correctly seeing external card as SD Card but in reality the internal storage is being used for everything.Because of this I have only about 5GB available instead of 64GB
Is there any way to terminate the emulation or changing it's target to sdcard2 so that I could use my card correctly? I've tried few things but nothing works. Symlinks are being recreated during boot so editing or deleting them does not work. Editing vold.fstab does nothing because ext is being mounted after boot while the emulation stars while in it - I guess that a proped ini script could do the work.
How do I move the music from my internal storage to my sd card?I always used to use my laptop but it's fried now.

Is there an app that can essentially clone the externally mounted USB drive so that when installing an app with a large data download i can choose to download the data to the externally mounted usb drive instead of the main device memory. An example, Spiderman has nearly 2GB of data and i would prefer to move it using an app rather than having to continuously move the data file from the root to the external USB using es file explorer.
I'm not very familiar with Android OS, I recently purchased a NOBIS 9, 1.5GHz Cortex A9 Dual-Core processor, 1GB DDR2 of system memory, and 8GB of internal storage running on Android 4.1. So far I have only downloaded and installed exactly 7 apps from Google Play and all my pictures and videos are in my SD card and I suddenly have no storage room. When I go to settings/storage, I see that there are 2 partitions to the tablet's storage both named INTERNAL STORAGE. Apparently all the apps are being installed in one of the partitions, the one with only 661 MB of space. I was able to go into the APPS setting and move 4 off the apps to the SD card, but the rest of the apps do show the MOVE TO SD CARD option but are not allowing me to press it.
Is there any way to somehow move the apps to the other partition or the SD card? Or is there a setting that I can change to allow all new apps to be installed in the SD card?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI just recently rooted my phone(iball Andi 5c) which runs on android ics 4.0.3..Mainly to use the sd swapper so I can get more space for apps but I have seem to have made a mistake when I used some sd swapper app.As soon as I used it rebooted my phone.I thought it did what it was meant to do but instead both my ext sd card and usb storage disappeared... gone poof just like that. Galaxy S3 > Internal Storage > 0 > 0 > [Folder with my stuff]
Is it possible to NOT create a new "0" folder every time I clean-flash a ROM? This results in having multiple instances of where Screenshots, Pictures, ROM Backups, and other files/backups I deem important are saved.
Having to transfer files manually is a huge time sink (literally hours), and I seriously cannot stand when my files are so cluttered and folders are redundant and more deep and than necessary.
The only thing that I can think of in order to make the process less painful is to compress the old instance of the folder, move it up one level, and then uncompress the files - leaving one "0" again -

CM 11, gapps installed on internal storage. I have done a recovery with cwm 6 and factory reset and formated caches, I only have 1.19gb left out of 9.59 total. There is no way that my rom and gapps bloatware is using that much space. Here is a screen shot. I have to be missing something.
I flashed Wanamlite v7 rom on my galaxy s3 and now I have only less than 2gb free space.

I've been out of the Android game for awhile now. My first smart phone was an HTC Inspire and after that I jumped to the iPhone 4S. Well now I decided to go back to Android and I picked up a Galaxy S5 since I was impressed with my wife's S3. Love the phone, but I have one question that I can't quite figure out.
The AT&T Galaxy S5 has 16GB of memory. The available memory is a little over 10GB due to all of the bloatware and OS files, of course. Well I went out and purchased a 64GB MicroSD card and expanded that bad boy greatly. I moved any apps that I can over to the SD card and all of my music is over there as well. Well, here is the problem.
Out of the 10+ gigs available on the device (not SD), I only have 4GB free and 7.5GB used. I should not have that much space being used AT ALL. If I look at the My Files app, the graph shows that I only have 2GB of app data and no documents, 4mb audio (the rest on SD), video, ect. I only have 33mb of photos. I should have no more than 2.4GB used total. What could possibly be taking up so much space?
