General :: Moving Movies To SD Card With Rooted Galaxy Note 2
Mar 3, 2013I have a rooted galaxy note 2 and am having trouble moving my movies to my sd card.

I have a rooted galaxy note 2 and am having trouble moving my movies to my sd card.
OK.... let's assume I am not too sharp with tech (I actually typed in id**t but that is offensive? :O ) I'm not stupid, just not as tech savvy as I would like to be... I have the Galaxy Note and have, let's say... an emotional attachment to a particular WhatsApp chat thread I have in my Note.
Bullet points.
I have my chat on the Note with my current phone number, which will be transferred to the new phone tomorrow and a temporary number on my new S4 so am assuming that my old phone will have no number as of tomorrow.
The Note has a faulty USB (it's the phone port not the cable as my new cable doesn't work with it either) so I cannot backup on my PC.
I have installed ES File Explorer on both phones.
I have Whatsapp installed on the old phone, but not the new one yet as I understand you should do that after creating the WhatsApp backup on the new phone.
How do I use ES File Explorer to transfer my (will do backup first, I know how to do that) backed up WhatsApp chat from the Note to the S4? I do NOT wish to root either phone.
I have finally managed to root my tablet. Its a samsung galaxy tab 3.7.0 wifi only with 8GB of internal storage, most of which is taken up by system memory. Its model is the SM-T210.
1) How can i move apps to my sd card?its a 16gb sandisk...i have already tried folder mount, apps 2 sd and APPMGR 111, but they are either not compatible for my device or dont work/let me install them?
2)ive rooted my tablet...now what do you recommend i do?
I got the stock ROM for Samsung galaxy note 3 neo (SM-N7500) and changed the boot.img to have ro.secure=0 in default.prop. but I am not able to get the root permission on the device.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI see a ton of questions about how to put apps onto your SD Card. I'm looking for the opposite.
I'm on Android 4.3 Galaxy Note 3 (ATT) and suddenly I started to see one or two recently installed apps turn into grey icons that say SD on them. I removed my SD card and then suddenly I noticed all~ of my recently installed apps turn into grey icons and when I tap on them - it goes to the google play store and says the apps have not been installed. Upon reinserting the card, the apps return.
What gives? I don't want this and it just started happening out of nowhere.
Ive had this micro sd card for at least 4 months. Its 32gb. I was using it on my galaxy s4 and it worked perfect. A week ago i got a galaxy note 3 and used it on my note 3 and worked perfect until yesterday every time i locked the screen, when i unlocked it it would say card was removed and like seconds later it sayd card inserted and installing. Then it would work. And everytime i lockd and unlockd the phone it would happen until it stopped working. I tryd putting the 32gb card on another phone and it didnt work. I tryd a different card on the note 3 and it worked. Only the 32gb stopped working. Ive restartd the phone. Took out the battery. Took out the sd card and put it in again and nothing worked. I tryd puttin the sd card on the computer and it doesnt even give me a signal that i inserted the card. Nothing happens. Oh and i forgot to say it stopped working and then after like 10 mins it came back working until the screen Got locked again and when i unlocked it then that was it, the card was gone and hasnt given any signal since then. Not even on the computer. I didnt download anything to the card or done anything that could of done this. It Just happend.

I have a 64gb MicroSD card installed, and put a copy of my photography website on it. I find I am unable to figure out a way to open it in Google Chrome.
I used ES File Explorer's FTP function to begin with, to copy files from my website to the card, and this worked beautifully. When I click on the index.html file on the card, the only options offered are HTML Viewer and some text editors. Chrome is not an option (Chrome is the default browser for my phone). I can try "Open as" and choose Chrome, but get the same error message as below.
If I long-press the file, and select Properties, I can copy the (full) Path for the file, but when I paste this into Chrome's URL bar, it won't open:
Access to the file was denied "The file at file:///storage/extSdCard/PhotoWebsite/index.html is not readable. It may have been removed, moved, or file permissions may be preventing access"
I have searched quite a bit, and tried various addresses, including localhost, localhost/mnt, content:, etc., etc., but nothing seems to work.
Ultimately I want to have a Bookmark in Chrome where I can view my website offline when necessary, but this seems to be more complex than would appear necessary.
Netflix cannot play movies on my Samsung Galaxy Note 2 lte N7105 240 dpi. I am on Wanam Lite rom 4.1.2.
If I change back my dpi to stock 320 dpi everything works perfectly.
I there is a modified Netflix .apk maybe that is modified to work with 240 dpi?
I recently upgraded to the galaxy note 3 from Verizon and I installed from here in the threads my favorite app for watching or finding movies to watch "videomix" and where it allows me to install an early version it does not allow the app from within itself to update to the current version as it always did back when on android 4.1.2 with earlier phones. And as of late it will no longer allow me to download movies from videomix which again was able to before. What happens is when I check the progress of the download from the status bar it blanks out at whatever percent and stops downloading. SCH-I535
View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen making an image I accidentally had Clockworkmod image be saved to the device itself instead of being saved to the external SD card.
I am able to browse to it using Root Explorer and select to Copy it, but how do I PASTE it onto the external SD card when Root Explorer only accesses the device directory and not the external SD card?
Quick 2nd question: I know on some previous devices such as the Galaxy S 4G you were *not* supposed to run Clockworkmod after booting in and from the Apps Drawer, instead you were only supposed to run directly from the startup screen before booting in. Is it OK to actually start the Clockwork Backup/Restore process from the Apps Drawer of the Galaxy S4 and let it reboot and do its thing or is it only supposed to be run BEFORE booting in?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI rooted my Verizon device using TWRP.
Should I just wait and sideload KK when it becomes available (assuming that I don't need to upgrade with what's currently available and want to wait until the Verizon/US version gets out)?
Or should I unroot back to stock first and OTA it?
Or can I simply reinstall my stock ROM in recovery and OTA?
I used to have Save Root. It worked like a charm for my Motorola devices. Does this work between updates as well? Do we know yet if there will be a way to save root when upgrading?
I use the Now TV and Wuaki.TV apps on my Note 2. When I am on stock firmware, kernel and recovery and not rooted, they work fine. But when I am rooted or on a custom rom, they don't work. I know this is because I am rooted/modded (because the app makers indicated they check for root access).

View 7 Replies View RelatedI have an LG Optimus L5 II (LG-E450B) running stock Android 4.1.2 (non-rooted) Kernel Version 3.4.0. My carrier is Virgin Mobile (Canada). I recently realized that the stock 2GB of internal memory is not nearly enough for me, so I went out and bought a 16GB Sandisk microSD card. I put music on it, set photos to autosave on it, etc. which all worked great. However, I have been unable to get some apps to move over correctly.
I realize that some apps can't really get moved (at least without rooting, etc). The app I am specifically trying to work with is iBird pro. It's App Info appears as such:
Total: 641 MB
App: 12.68 MB
USB storage app: 628 MB
Data: 4.00 KB
SD Card: 0.00B
The "Move to SD Card" option is available, but when I do it all that it does is drop the App to 3.51MB and up the USB storage app to 637MB. All of which stays on the internal memory. Obviously it is only moving 9MB or so of App to the virtual SD internal memory (which I believe is what shows up in my files manager as /storage /sdcard0, so it doesn't actually move it to the SD card (though a few other apps have sucessfully been moved).
I have tried using App2SD, but it says that the program is not supported by my device (and the iBird Pro shows up as "Phone Only" anyway).
I have tried the ADB hack trick set-install-location 2 and reinstalled the app and still nothing, it just saved on the internal memory.
Finally, when I open the app, it also downloads another ~600MB of database data (bird songs, pictures, etc), which also saves on the internal memory. Or at least tries to but the memory gets full and it stops the download.
I have an LG Optimus F3Q (I know, I know) with only 2 GB of internal storage, and 1.5 GB of that is taken up by apps and the operating system (I don't want to spend hours deleting apps one at a time to see how much space frees up, only to find out that it hardly gained me anything), so the remaining space isn't even enough to save one downloaded movie from Google Play. I have a 32 GB SD Card, but Google Play will not save a pinned movie to the SD card, and this thread suggested that it's not possible: Can Google Play Movies Play from an SD Card? I want to be able to save a pinned movie so I can watch it on airplanes or other places where data service doesn't work.
Are there any other apps which allow you to purchase a movie legally and save the downloaded movie to the SD card, preferably without rooting the phone? (I'm worried that rooting the phone will introduce another whole level of unpredictable problems that support won't be able to work with.) Either a method to trick Google Play into saving the file to the SD card (that's not circumvention of copy protection, since I'm not trying to duplicate the file), or, an entirely separate app, from Netflix or Amazon or whoever, that lets you buy movies and save them onto the SD card, where they might expire after some time period.
(It certainly seems silly if they think this restriction prevent "piracy" -- even if it's stored on an SD card, the Google Play player could still refuse to play the file after the expiration date. Of course someone could try to reverse-engineer the Google Play player to circumvent the restrictions, but for that amount of effort, a user could far more easily obtain a pirated copy some other way. So refusing to save files to the SD card gains them exactly nothing in terms of preventing piracy.)

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a 4gb sd and had it for a while. yesterday i got a new phone and it came with a 16gb sd card pre installed. at first i was going to use it for something else but this phone records hd videos and in doing so may take much more memory than normal, including that this phone takes mp4 videos. So I want to know a safe way to move all my data, music photos, video etc to the 16gb. I seen some people say drag all the data, do i actually drag ALL FOLDERS, or only certain folders?

2. If I move apps to SD card, will those be purged while I make wipe data+wipe cache+dalvik+Format System procedure to flash a new ROM? Or it'll remain in SD and catch up back when the new ROM is in?
3. What does a Nandroid backup normally take? Would it keep ROM+ Apps in System Partition or just the ROM?
My question is can you load the digital copy movies that come with dvds onto windows media player on your pc then copy onto your sd card? Is it mp4 format or an unsupported file type? Or are the digital copies strictly for itunes and psp?
