Recently I uninstalled PowerAmp. However, when I tried to reinstall an upgraded version of it, I can't as the installer came out with the out of space error. However, the problem is that I have enough space in my phone. (Confirm have space one). I also tried installing different versions of the apk but it still doesn't work. Other bigger apps apk work fine except all the different version of PowerAmp.

Okay so back when .6 hit the air, there were a few links to download the zip version.
I downloaded it, thinking I could manually install it just like I did ver .3, but no one mentioned doing that, and given HTC's tweet I am assuming I shouldn't do this.. But am I right about that? Why couldn't we manually install the correct version from the zip just like .3?
I tried to install Android 2.0 platform via Android SDK and AVD Manager. In "Available Packages" I chosen to install "SDK Platform Android 2.0, API 5, revision 1". The Manager started to download data. After download was fininshed I got message "SSL peer shut down incorrectly". In the header there was a message "Nothing was installed". Any idea what is wrong? As far as know my friend also failed to install Platform 2.0 and he had the same messages in the Manager.

The notification will not go away, I have tried rebooting my phone. I can't not stand it, its just one of my things, but it makes me want to not use my phone. View 49 Replies View RelatedI recently installed XtrSense ROM on my wifes Eris, and now she came to me today saying that she is getting "Low on space" errors, sure enough I checked, she only has 14mb on internal memory. I checked the amount of apps she has, and it wasn't much more then I had the phone when it was stock, she has like 20 apps in there, and when I had the phone on Stock, I had 30 apps and 100+mb free. So, is it the ROM that is taking up all the space? or the Nandroid backup? If I enabled Apps2SD will that move all apps to the sd card?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a stock Eris and the other day my sdcard went corrupted. I learned this from when I got the new swype beta email and went to download the .apk. It told me a sdcard was required (I had never taken the sdcard out of the phone to being with). Anyways I brought it to verizon and the guy said it was done and gave me a 16gb card (8 was in there previously). So now I was able to download the .apk file; however when I try to click on it to install it says I can't because there is not enough space on Phone.
Now I don't know how much for it is required. But I have 14gb on the card available and 25mg on the internal phone storage. Now since uninstalling swype and trying to download I haven't added any more apps that would take up additional space. I've actually uninstalled a few, so I should have more space than I did before this whole thing started.
I was removing stock apps from my /system/app folder, and deleted Launcher2.apk by mistake. The phone couldn't boot properly, so I managed to get the apk from the emulator and install it using adb booting the phone on recovery mode.
Now, my problem is, that Launcher only shows shorcuts to the apps from my /system/app folder. Every apk I put or install on /data/app doesn't apear on the apps view. So there is no way to launch any app unles I manualy move it to system.
I think launcher must read a config file to get the installed apps, and it's failing for some reason. What do you think?
I've just bought lenovo s870e a couple days ago, and I couldn't find the usb drivers and the new rom/firmware, I had enough with the stock rom, because the Google play store won't work, etc..
View 9 Replies View RelatedI use an LG Optimus L4 II (e445). I rooted it but then decided I had too much on it and decided to restore to factory settings. It all worked fine. However, when I got to the Google Account sign in page, it gave me the "couldn't establish a reliable connection to the server" error message. I followed every single tutorial I could find online as to how to solve this. None of them worked. Eventually, I re-rooted it (using VRoot) and managed to download an apk of ES file explorer and locate the hosts file. This had one line that shouldn't have been there:

From what I can make out, this is the address of google's sign in servers. So somehow (I suspect malware/dodgy rooting program?) my hosts file has been edited to stop me logging into google. Restoring the device does nothing, neither does unrooting/rerooting. When I open up the file in ES (when rooted) and edit out the bad lines, I can't save for some reason- I think the /system folder is write protected.
So I tried to make the /system folder writeable. I used the android sdk to do this (mount -o command) but this did not do anything. I downloaded the mount /system apk and installed that, it did not work either. I tried /pull and /push on the hosts file to edit it and send it back using the apk. I could successfully pull and edit it, but it would not let me push it back. I can effectively not use my phone- I can't use most apps and can't download any.
I cannot install any app it says "application not installed".I have miui v5.

1. Just filash preloader.img * remove battery and usb cable
2. Flash DSP_BL * remove battery and usb cable
3. Flash pro_info * remove battery and usb cable
4. Flash UBOOT.img * remove battery and usb cable
Once this is done, my phone could not boot. does not display.
After successfully installing the 2.1 leak, is it safe to remove the zip file from the SD card to clean up space?
View 2 Replies View RelatedSo I had a stock 4.3 ROM, rooted, and wanted to flash recovery.. so I accidentally flashed a N7100 recovery, hence, phone couldn't respond to TOUCH at all.
I flashed different ROMs and PIT files in order to solve this but it only kept getting my phone worse.
I can go to Download Mode now so what do I do?

This is probably a given now, considering the some Nexus owners are already getting the update as I type this.
Free space out of the box for devices I have tried or owned:
G1 = less than 100mb
Nexus = 200 MB
Droid = 248MB
Incredible = 748mb
I buy new tablet with android 4 and have 3 memory space : 1- Phone memory 2- Internal SD memory 3- External SD Memory
I wonder if could I install my application in External SD Memory ? cause my phone and internal SD Memory is low
Is there 748mb free available storage for apps? I have seen a few screen shots, but reviews and reports seem to contradict. If 512mb ROM, most out of box would be less than the 228mb free on Moto Droid, since Android 2.1 takes up more space, due to more pre-installed apps. My guess is there should be about 200mb free IF only a 512mb ROM, or none of the flash is allocated.
Only other option would be if the ROM is actually 1gb. Then the question would be where is the other 1.1 or so gigs of space on the "8gb built-in storage". Should be around 7.8gb free if 8gb is built in. BTW, where IS the "missing" storage space, since 8gb built-in and only 6.6gb shows free?
I am frequently getting a "low on application space" msg telling me to delete apps. Does anyone know how to allocate more of the 4+gb I seem to have free in phone storage OR clear cache or something? It doesn't seen right to have 4gb free and be so low on app space that I can't exec Google Talk without deleting applications 1st.

I get "No Activity found to handle Intent" on logCat. What is the correct intent to launch the installer?
I spent a wasted hour of my life on the phone to Three support trying to work out why I couldn't log in to my Three account page using my handset. They now think it is a problem with the handset (which I bought Simfree).
Basically I try and login; hit submit; get mostly blank white screen which at top says 'login successful click here to read the page you want' or somesuch. I do this, and it mostly takes me back to the login screen.
Originally it was autopopulating the fields with the original Sim number (before I ported my old number), so I cleared the cache, cookies, passwords etc. That didn't solve the problem.
The Three lady then fiddled with homepage settings. Which didn't solve the problem either.
I CAN login to my Three account via PC so suspect she is right about a problem on phone specifically. I have had a similar problem on one other website when trying to login on handset. But not on other password protected sites.
Okay so I updated to 2.1 a while back and everything has been awesome with the exception of handcent so I ditched that and got chomp. Well this morning sent out a text and just thought the person never replied then I noticed I didn't get a reply back from anyone else I texted either. Some of them called me after to ask me why I ignored their reply back. I just didn't get their messages. So I turned off my phone and turned it back on then sent a message to a friend and finally got a reply back. So from like 6am-4pm I couldn't get any texts. I don't know if this is a 2.1 problem or an inbox being full thing cuz I didn't get a message saying it was.
