General :: Insufficient Storage Space After Setting Install Location

I have set the install location of my phone to external. Even though I am installing apps to ad directly, I can't install apps higher than the internal free space left.
I have an eMoto, with Android 4.1.1 Jellybean.
I can download any app under 10mb, but anything over 10mb such as Facebook, gives me this error. I have enough space on my SD card and internal memory. Considering I can download any app under 10mb just fine. I have tried tons of apps and games over 10mb and none work, ONLY ones under 10mb.
Is there a way to update android on my phone, which could possibly eliminate this issue? Because I didn't have this problem on 4.0.1 (Ice Cream Sandwich) on another phone.
I'm getting a little desperate about the popup I'm getting every day: insufficient storage available. After trying many things and cleaning up my droid, I've started uninstalling apps, but nothing solves it. I have:
1. Rooted my phone and moved almost all apps to my external SD card using link2sd;
2. Cleaned cache, checked out residual files and other data using ES file explorer and SD maid;
3. Uninstalled many apps but instead I'm getting the warning at 60MB left free whereas I used to only get it at 10MB, it seems that uninstalling apps only makes it worse...
Here's the screenshot of my storage space. Notice that my internal memory is only around 300MB used (now it's even less since I've uninstalled many apps) - so two thirds of it are supposed to be free as it shows...?
I was trying to install Skype on my phone and got the error "insufficient storage available". I have traced the problem to the bug in Skype that doesn't delete com.skype.raider or something like that. The only way to get rid of this file is to root and delete it from /data/data which is only accessed by rooting. I don't want to root, but I need Skype. I have heard you can temporarily root your phone. Does phone automaticaly go back to stock after you restart?

I just updated over from 3 to 4 with no wipe in between (it IS an update after all) and it won't install handcent.I have 214mb internal storage free.hat gives? I am kinda tired of redoing things - I tried a few different setups between last night and today.
View 8 Replies View RelatedWhen ever I try to install or update an app on my Z1, it keeps giving me an error say that it has "insufficient storage available" even though i still have 6 GBs left,
P.S I've tried clearing out my cache files but that doesn't seem to work as well.
I installed poweramp lite And I used lucky patcher with it then I Deleted it Because after I tried it I wanted to buy the official one. Now when I try to install it I get a message saying "insufficient storage available" and i have 1 G free on my eternal memory and 6 G free on SD card.
View 4 Replies View RelatedMy Android ICS phone has 42MB available (according to Settings->Storage). I am not able to install some new apps (e.g. O2 wifi, size 4MB) or update some existing apps (e.g. TouchPal X, size 19MB) though I have been able to install other small ones (e.g. Terminal Emulator, size 1MB and Cache Clear 5MB). I've tried using Cache Clear to clear the caches. I've tried 'pm set-install-location 2' to default the install location to external storage (currently it's 0 i.e. auto) but it's rejected it with the comment 'killed'. I've moved all the apps (that I'm allowed to move) to the sdcard. I'm not able to root the phone (ZTE V790) as I haven't found any instructions & software that works.
View 1 Replies View RelatedSo i'm trying to redownload Poweramp music player, but it says "Insufficient storage available" I have a Samsung Galaxy Player 5.0. It has 1.58gb of Avaliable memory left. and 712mb of system memory. I also have a 32gb microsd card. Poweramp is less than 5mbs, and im getting this insufficient storage popup. I downloaded some other apps to see if i did run out of storage, and i downloaded a few apps that were like 20mbs+ Also I uninstalled some apps.
What else should i try? I used the google play app, and website to try to install.
I'm getting this error when I try to install or update almost every APK on my Android. SOME will install or update and I can tell you there's nothing to do with file size. The storages seem to have plenty of free space, apps install smoothly when I factory reset my phone, but after a few days I start getting this annoying error.
I'm running the latest Nightly build from CyanogemMod for LG p720h (Yea, it's not stable and I know I should expect some... erm... bugs). It's Android 4.1.2.
I know the Internal Storage is emulated and have tried many many many fixes I found in this very forum and all over the internet. I'm a game developer so I know a few things about adb shell/logcats but couldn't find/understand anything analizing those during an APK install. I can provide logs, etc.
I have an HTC One V. my apps won't update or download properly from the Google Play store. When I try, it says something like, "package file is invalid" or "Insufficient storage memory."
View 3 Replies View RelatedRecently, I have been VERY frustrated with my phone as it is not possible to install ANY apps. I am using a Huawei Ascend G510, unrooted, running Android 4.1.1. I heard something about luckypatcher, but I do not have it nor could I find it on Google Play. Google Play keeps saying "Insufficient storage available". I have over 120 megabites of space for apps. I tried cleaning cache and data but it did not work. What's really weird is that I couldn't even install the app with an apk ! Is a facory reset needed (I hope not, as I can't even install a backup app...) ?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm getting an "insufficient storage" error on installing apps from Google Play (even small 6mb apps). I find if i delete several apps and run it again it works (there is apparently 470MB free despite this).
I've seen references to changing settings so that Google Play installs to the SD card but cant figure out which apply here. And also to clearing the cache for applications (in the TWRP app perhaps?).
I've run the jmz script from the Nabi 2 root thread, but I think I'm missing a step or two (although apps do in fact install, which they wouldn't before).
For some reason, when I try to download music to my Droid (using iMusic) the download always fails, and I get a message that there's insufficient space. I went in and deleted all my existing music files, which weren't that many to begin with, and I still get the same message. This never happened until my OS got upgraded a few days ago.

Basically, some apps keep telling me I have insufficient space available when I try to update them. The main culprits are Shopper, Space Physics, and NESoid. Sometimes, uninstalling/reinstalling works, but the latest updates of Space Physics and Shopper keep telling me insufficient space. Settings, Memory says I have 91.54 MB of internal space left. Also, uninstalling and doing Titanium restores dont seem to work either...but just for those apps.
Today I went to install google earth to m phone. It would complete the download and kept telling me I dont have sufficient storage.I'm thinking there is no way I could have used 8 gigs of internal memory already, so I go to phone storage and see that I have 6.38 GB of internal storage left. So how is it that a 22mb download wont download?

View 4 Replies View RelatedThis message keeps freezing my phones ability to send and receive texts. I've deleted threads,unused apps and pictures and files. This is frustrating me to no end! The internal storage is nearly full, but the Ram has tons of space. I have moved everything to SD that can be moved,cleared cache and have an app for doing this autimatically. I've read up a bit on rooting and don't believe that is for me as I'm an amatuer.
How can I fix this and why do I have so much RAM,but no internal memory?
when my phone gets down to like 17 megs free on the internal storage, I get the little icon in the corner telling me I'm low on space.
When that happens, I also start getting errors when I try to send a text or open my browser that say "Not enough phone storage space". This then completely prevents me from using the browser or sending a text message.
What the heck is up with that? 17 megs is a huge amount of space to be free. Why would that prevent me from using my phone? Is there something I can do to fix that or change when it thinks I'm low? I have to keep uninstalling things just to get my phone to work. I've moved everything I can over to the SD card but it hasn't worked. I just don't get why things would stop working when I still have 15+ megs free.
This is an Optimus V on 2.2.2

I have a rooted HTC One and I have TWRP 2.6.3.3. Recently my phone's battery life has started to go down and I though I'll check the storage and what not, uninstall some apps im not using and some other stuff. It was then I found that my recovery was taking up in excess of 8GB ! I've backed up my phone using TWRP only a few times and each backup is taking up nearly 3GB of space.
I was wondering If I delete the previous backups and keep the current one (back it up on my PC)
Recently, I have noticed that my android phone keeps telling me I have insufficient storage. So, I start deleting most of my apps, except for Facebook, Viber, Whatsapp and the pre-installed apps. However, in my apps section, it shows I have used up 863MB whereas in the storage section, it says I have used up 213MB. Funny thing is, Facebook, Viber and Whatsapp are all installed in my SD card. I have to force stop my Facebook app and clear the cache files in order to use my phone.
