I've recently upgraded my Samsung Galaxy S II to Android 4.0.3 (COA - Romania) using Samsung Kies.
I sometimes have an issue:
- when I click the WiFi icon on status bar to activate wireless connection it partially gets green and stays locked for about 1-2 minutes. This happens every 6 or 7 attempts to connect using wireless.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI let Google Now set itself up on my S3 about 2-3 months ago. I thought it was kinda cool but I didn't feel like messing with it too much at the time. I did, however, see the "Search, or say Google" feature. I spoke the word "Google" and sure enough it activated, and I spoke the generic, "Where is the nearest restaurant?" just to see how it worked, and several restaurants were shown. Pretty cool, but like I said, I wasn't in the mood to dig into it much deeper at that time.
Fast forward to last night. I had some time on my hands and thought I would mess with this "Google Now" thing I've been reading about more and more. I add the Google Now widget to one of my pages easily enough. Then I tap it to get it started, and I see the familiar, "Search, or say Google" and I'm ready to play. "Google", I say. Nothing. I repeat it... "Google". Still nothing. I tap the microphone, and the screen changes to the Google logo in the upper left, a flashing red microphone in the upper right, and the words "Speak now" show up in the middle of the screen. Again, I do the "Where is the nearest restaurant?", just like I did before, and I wait for its response. The text from my question shows up on screen, but the mic in the upper right is still pulsing. I wait for about 30 seconds and finally tap the mic icon, thinking that will activate the question. No... it just goes back to the previous screen. I try this several times with different questions, each getting a bit more prophanity-laced as I'm losing patience. Finally I give up.
Then I see if my wife has Google Now activated on her Note 2. She doesn't, so I grab the widget and throw it on an empty screen. I tap the widget and Google Now starts. I see the "Search, or say Google", so I sternly say, "Google". It activates, I ask for the nearest restaurants, and it shows me several in the area. Why won't it work on my S3 anymore? I check the settings for voice and see Hotword detection is checked. I compare my settings to the settings on my wife's Note 2 and they're identical.
those two power/settings widgets has a wifi hotspot button but it seems to access sprint's hotspot. just wondering if it's possible to have them access wireless tether (root).
View 2 Replies View RelatedI bought my Droid on line via Phandroid/Verizon Wireless just after midnight on Friday and filled out all the info, picked a Verizon plan, gave them my current cell number (which is an AT&T Mobile number) and checked the boxes that said "yes, please port my old number on to my new Verizon phone".
So I get the phone today (superfast -- I hadn't even paid for overnight delivery). But when I follow the instructions to activate, the activation fails. I touch the Droid on the touchscreen, it brings up the phone, I follow the voice prompts and dial my cell number, but it doesn't work.
Spoke with a VW customer service rep (late night Saturday night). He gave me a different customer service # to call on Sunday for help with "porting."
I sure hope I get this straightened out quickly. Maybe I should've just bought the Droid at a Verizon store and let the VW store guys activate it for me.
The VW customer service rep was saying I should see a "temporary Verizon cell #" somewhere on my receipt or packing slip. But there isn't any. Just the mobile # that I'm trying to port over from AT&T.
Did I do something wrong when I ordered the phone? Or is it normal for there to be a delay in getting the old # ported?
my galaxy s3 , i first installed free turkish and russian keyboards but i didnt see how to switch to that then i installed swiftkey keyboard for $3.99 from google play store and still didnt see any difference on my keyboard. how can i activate these keyboards and switch back to english when i want?

Your phone needs to support Wireless Data Connection (Dun) Capabilities to use TomTom Plus Services. Can this be done soon? View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a galaxy s4 mini and since this morning it won't connect to the network (I am with three - they have checked there are not signal problems in my area) AND I can't connect to my wireless (definitely working as I am using my iPad to write this.
So when I go to switch the wireless on, on the phone, it flicks itself back off again and doesn't even go green like it normally does.
I don't know if either of the following two things would have affected this or not:
1) my phone downloaded some Samsung update yesterday (via 3G, don't know if it completed though). Phone says its using android version 4.2.2 - is that relevant?
2) got my phone on to the wireless system lat night (because of MAC address filtering) but it was working fine last night.
Anyway I have tried all the standard things - switching my phone on and off, taking the SIM card out etc but still no network and no wireless.
I have a rooted Evo 4G currently running the latest Fresh. Also running the current Wireless Tether App 2.0.5 pre 9. I am always having a problem of the client computer just dropping connection and no longer can find the broadcasting signal. Seems like the phone just stops broadcasting randomly. Only way to fix it is to disable and then enable the wireless tethering again. This happens about every 10-15 minutes, on any computer I try. Work, home, shop, everywhere. I also tried wiping the phone completely and re-installing the app. Is there a more reliable wireless tether app out there?

Very strange because I was in the middle of downloading a market app when it just disappeared. View 8 Replies View RelatedI have transformed CoolReader into system app with Titanium backup. It was crashing so I tried to move it back to user app again with Titanium backup. However during this procedure TB hanged and after some 20 minutes I killed it. I later tried to uninstall it (again with TB), but it seems that there are still left parts of it somewhere so now I am unable to reinstall the app from google play (error 491) or if I clear cache and data of google play and force the application to install it keeps crashing.
So I would like to ask what should I delete to completely eliminate the traces of CoolReader (or any application in general) and be able to install it again?

View 4 Replies View RelatedSo recently I have started to have a problem with my Wi-Fi Connection on my Samsung Galaxy Blaze 4G , So I would be on the Wi-Fi fine then each time i click on a video it asks for "Complete action using" then my Wi-Fi instantly stops and the Wi-Fi icon isn't there anymore . After i clicked one of the option on complete action using, couple seconds later my internet comes back.
So problem is that each time i try to watch a video my Wi-Fi Stops when on Web. But then I can watch videos through the Youtube application.
Also Another weird thing is that after the Wi-Fi reconnects My "Use packet data" setting is auto enabled again.
I updated my AT&T Galaxy S3 to Android 4.3 a few weeks ago.
Ever since then, I routinely get a notification that says "Your Internet Connection is Unstable".
It seems to happen each time I turn my bluetooth connection on.
Phone on > connected to my home wifi (2.4 gHz) > bluetooth is off > turn bluetooth on > get the "internet connection unstable" message.
If I keep my bluetooth off, then I never get this notification.
I have already wiped the cache partition as noted from thread [URL]...
My Galaxy pocket is loosing it's data connection and only reboot is working although the dual arrow marks with H exist on screen. The rom is original without any changes.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a T-Mobile Galaxy Vibrant that was running Android 2.1. I rooted the phone (successfully), and installed Slim Bean 4.2.2 plus Google apps. Everything was going smoothly and I was reinstalling apps and data when I noticed that I had no network phone connection. Slim Beam did not seem to recognize the sim, and I came up empty searching for networks. I removed the sim and put it in another phone, and everything was fine.
I decided to restore the previous android 2.1 (which I had backed up) using ClockWorkMod Recovery. I did restore, then reboot. Now the only thing I get is the initial screen ... Vibrant and Samsung in bold white letters. I have tried repeatedly to launch CWM Recovery, without success.
I got my Fascinate yesterday and today idk if its just me but today I noticed when scroll the notification screen down, I see a band of unusual green but when I scroll up to my home screen nothing happens. I tried dead pixel test and nothing showed up. Is it a software issue? or a hardware issue?

But lately now I have a serious problem. I have Verizon Fios at home and whenever I try to connect my Wireless tablet to it It lags, it slows down, many times the connection comes up for a couple of seconds, then connection drops. I told Verizon about and they are going to send me a new router. it is a software connection issue with the Samsung Tablet? On my computer, I am getting 7 mbps download speed and 6 mbps when I am supposed to be getting 50 Mbps on my comupter.
