I followed a guide to root my Samsung Galaxy S3 (GT-i9300) which used these files:
- odin3 v1.85
- CF-Root-SGS3-v6.1.tar
But when I try running the SuperSU app (installed automaticallly after rooting), I get the message:

And when I click OK, it gives the error:

I just rooted my Verizon RAZR Maxx HD and when I tried to load Super User I got this message, "There is no SU binary installed, and SuperSU cannot install it. This is a problem!"

I uninstalled my SuperSU app off of my rooted Galaxy S4; it happen of off a mistake I did playing around with my phone and now it says
" There is no SU binary installed, and SuperSU cannot install it. This is a problem! If you just upgraded to Android 4.3(But im already updated to 4.3), you need to manually re-root - consult the relevant forums for your device! ".

Now my device cannot un-root when I tried to but I want to get my old rooted device back I've been trying to root it again with my rooting program but nothing is working trying methods that I've seen on Youtube and various websites and now im just done. I really want my device to be fully rooted again but it just keeps giving me the same message even when I uninstall it and install it again, rebooting the device its hopeless...

I have a rooted galaxy S2 on stock with the SuperSU application. I updated the SuperSU application today and when I opened it, it advised me to update the binary. I selected the option to update the binary via CWM (as that's my recovery tool). My phone then tried to reboot but is now stuck on the splash screen, I have access to ODIN mode which currently says CUSTOM BINARY DOWNLOAD: Yes (1 counts) but no access to CWM.
I have a feeling I would need to flash the kernel but am not really sure what the best way to fix this is. If possible I would like to keep all my data intact.
I'm using the official D2EXT MIUI-Rom (latest Version) on my HTC Desire, had no problems with it so far.
I've updated my SU binary with the preinstalled SU-App yesterday, wasn't thinking about any bad consequences.
I rebooted the phone and wanted to view some pictures from my SD Card: no access anymore.
Windows says, the type of my data partition is RAW. Ubuntu just says, I dont have any rights to get access on that card.
The card is definitely NOT broken! I'm restoring all files right now from my card with Recuva (Windows). But for example, pictures seem to be broken and can't be displayed.
What should I do now? Might a SU binary downgrade work? Is there any way to downgrade without a working SD card?
I tried to root iris 502 using the binary script but was not successful. Nor did it got rooted through unlock root.

I am trying to install the Android 4.3 update released yesterday. I have a Galaxy S4 SCH-i545 (Verizon). The phone currently runs stock firmware and is not rooted. When I press install now, the phone reboots, looks like it is updating, than says error and restarts. A message pops up when the phone restarts stating the update failed due to error 402. I tried to update via Kies, but it says there is no available update in Kies, but my phone says the update is available. I have a lot of data on the phone and I need my warranty to stay intact, so no Odin.

I have a rooted Galaxy S3 running PA 2.54. I used Goo Manager to install TWRP and download PA 3.0 and the latest Gapps to my SD card.
I booted into recovery. Did a factory reset, wiped cache, wiped dalvik. Then installed rom, gapps and did a reboot.
I get past the boot screen, but then I get two error messages: "Unfortunately, the process com.google.process.gapps has stopped" and "Unfortunately, Setup wizard has stopped". I keep pressing ok, but it doesn't allow me to progress any further. I can't access anything else and the only thing I am able to do is hold down the power button to reboot.
I have made a back up and restored my phone back 2.54 and everything works fine. I tried it one more time and the same thing happened.
Super su always denied mybackup pro. I unistall/ install again supersu and mybackup pro too. But appears denied always...

Does it means that if I grant a App SuperSU permission both at the install stage and later via the superSU rooted app, the app then have free hand to do anything on the device.I did a bit of research and ir does seem to be yhe case, wouldn't this be very dangerous to grant this permission to some less well know apps (ie not titanium backup calibre).
Although there is a separate permission for Internet access. Would an app with superSU be able to give itself stealth internet access and thus able to steal sensitive data over the net, or would I still be safe as long as the app dont ask for explicit internet permission.

I have rooted my phone and I'm using SuperSu. I noticed that every time I open an app that requires root, I get a little notification at the bottom of the screen that says root access granted. This happens anytime I open an app that requires root. Is it possible to disable these annoying notifications?

adb cannot push SU into my xperia ..
I just updated my SGS to 2.3.6 (JW4) with CF-Root. I've been using Root Browser since 2.3.5 (with Superuser) with no problems but since updating to 2.3.6 (with SuperSU), Root Browser does not get root permissions. For example I can read the system partition but cannot write to it (like deleting a file). Also if I click on a file on the system partition and check it's properties Root Browser does not show the permissions, it just display N/A.
- configured SuperSU to the default allow action instead of prompting me
- installed Superuser, don't launch it, just install to check if it could be a problem with Root Browser way of cheking for root by using the presence of superuser.apk
- uninstalled and reinstalled Root Browser
None of the above has solved my problem. All the other apps that require root work fine.
Confirm that Root Browser does indeed work with SuperSU 0.87?
I have both Superuser, and SuperSU installed, apparently. I never like having two of the same task on things that touch root.. How do I correctly uninstall one of those without having an issue?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've tried to root my Samsung Galaxy Y Pro GT-B5510 using a number of different update.zip files recommended on various sites and forums, but I always encounter the same problem.
The instructions are the same everywhere, and I follow them to the letter: I transfer the file into the root directory of my SD card via USB cable, then disconnect and switch off my phone. I then get into recovery mode (after several attempts) using the Volume-Up, Home and Power buttons. I press Volume-Down to navigate the red menu and then Home to select "apply update from sdcard". I select update.zip, and a stream of cyan text rushes up my screen until it hits a snag...
The red menu reappears, followed by cyan text reading:
.zip
(Status 7)
Installation aborted.
Although the previous mountain of text rushes up the screen too fast to read, I am sometimes able to catch a glimpse of what seems to be the main indicator of the problem:
Error in tmp/sideload/package.zip
As I said, this happens with multiple versions of update.zip that I've found. What could be causing it?
I update the firmware with the latest rooted one for t-mobile? What benefit does rooting give me?

I can download the software from my phone but can't install them. I also tried SE update service and PC companion. Update Service just says my phone is up to date and exits.PC companion says the same thing "your phone is up to date". I read somewhere today that you cantnot update ur phone after rooting it so I tried to repair my phone using PC companion but that failed too. I got a download error and something about checking my internet connection. I was wondering if anyone knows a way of flashing my phone with the original u20i generic uk so i can update again.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI recently went through a process recommended by Sony Support to download latest software update to my X10 (depite the fact that the inbuilt update process repeatedly informed me I had the latest software.) Now when i use the inbuilt procedure od SETTINGS/About Phone/Software update/ Update Now (with the WiFi & mobile networks setting selected) my X10 helpfully tells me "your phone will now search to see if any new sofware is available". After a few seconds it then informs me "Could not update - network error".

Then I go to settings, uncheck the "force https...", then add new site "http://dl-ssl.google.com/android/repository/ repository.xml" (the same as default but with HTTP protocol) then again try to get available updates.
After this step I get the weird error:

I want't adb on my desire. I use Leedroid and there is no adb binary. So I downloaded CM9 (and other) to rip it out. But all I get if I try to start the binary on my device is:
permission denied
so just rooted using unrevoked3, i did so without a memory card in the phone (forgot i had earlier taken it out) and had a message on the phone about couldnt find sd storage. well anyway unrevoked3 said that rooting was done and i do have the user permissions app in my app drawer. just wondering could there be anything that is not on my phone now because i didnt have sd storage in?

then the loop stops, or I should say hangs up there till I hit control c then hit yes. I tried and tried for a couple hours and cannot get this to work. I followed everything on the 10 min video, but still cannot get it to work. in my device manager it is installed under android devices (my htc) not sure what that is windows XP pro.Also in the recovery mode it goes to HTC storage device.What am I doing wrong?
