Nov 22, 2010I recently read that AppBrain updated their app to v5.0 but that the Fast Web Installer that pushing apps to your phone from Appbrain.com WITHOUT having to go through the Market is broken with the v5.0 update because of changes with the Market's recent update.

QUESTION: does the Fast Web Install still work with earlier versions of AppBrain?? I have kept v4.8 installed on my phone but I'm having a problem with the Fast Web Install. I'm not sure if I'm experiencing a temporary issue or if the Market update is affecting ALL versions of the Appbrain fast web push?

Nov 23, 2010I have been thinking about rooting my phone ever since i got it, the Evo is my first Android phone so I'm kinda new to all of this. When Z4Root came out I thought about using it but then noticed that it did not work on NAND devices. The reason I have not rooted is because of the warranty stuff. So I have a few questions I need to ask. I see that with Z4root they have added an option for temporary root which will work on NAND devices, if I do use this will they be able to tell my phone was rooted after a restart, will the temporary root allow me to use apps such as wireless tether for root users, if I root and have insurance on my phone will they not acknowledge the insurance since it is rooted, and if I unroot the phone by restarting will the warranty still be acknowledged.

Nov 23, 2010do i do i choose temporarily root or the permanant root in z4root? Then when using ryanza oclf do i go through in the same order as i did with 2.1, ie ext2 first then root device. OCLF refers to 2.1, i presume that is oclf version and not relating to sgs2.1? Sorry for the constant posting guys, i dont understand what im doing and just want to make sure i dont screw things up.

Jun 13, 2010I'd like to put Appbrain on my Compaq Airlife 100, but I think their website thinks my Airlife is not an Android device as the page which I think is supposed to have the link on it says something like "Navigate here on your Android device", but of course, the Airlife *is* and Android device.
Anyway, anyone know where I can just download the APK file? There is no Marketplace on the Airlife, so I can't get it there.
It's a free application, so I'm not sure why it's so difficult to come by. I managed to get an old APK (version 2), but it crashed all the time, I'd like to try 3.2.1 and see if the issues are resolved.

Nov 25, 2010I have had this problem for a while now. Some apps just refuse to update. Appbrain being one of them. It says downloading then downloading failed. I even uninstalled it and installed from market still no go.I have about 5 apps that just refuse to update and now i dont even have appbrain because it wont download it. Anyone have a link to the apk to appbrian 5.11? or whatever the newest one is. When i press cancel download on the appbrain page it force closes.

Jun 5, 2010i have two email addresses, one is my fullname@gmail.com which i use for private "serious" stuff like bank account logins, personal email to freinds/family, facebook, etc. and then i have my "internet" email which is my screenname@gmail.com which i use for forum signups, craigslist entries and for fun pretty much.
question is, when i get my android phone, do i have to assign an email address to the phone? when i tried to sign up for appbrain it asked me to log into my gmail account but i wasn't sure which one i would use.
is it pretty much provide a gmail address then do whatever you want? i justdon't want my private email address to be compromised in the future.

It seems difficult sometimes because spammers run around to so many apps saying "Great, I got the full version at" and it is the exact same thing at dozens of other products.Does the market or appbrain ever monitor their sites for spammers?
