Motorola Droid :: Root Using Z4root
Nov 16, 2010I've run z4root and it went through the process and rebooted my phone (Motorola Droid). When looking through my list of apps, I have one listed called "Superuser" does that mean I am now rooted? Just leaving this topic open just in case anyone could help me out on what to do possibly after my phone *might* be rooted. Running the program in 3...2...1...

What I used and have installed: SuperOneClick and SDK manager installed According to the thread from previous asking for the root method for N-04C, I tried to use SuperOneClick to root my phone, and the program actually stucks everytime like the pic...whenever I hit ROOT or SHELL ROOT.

Feb 7, 2010Im trying to root my hero using pre kitchen but its not going threw i run the diagnostics text before you root everything checks out good. I have tried to root by having checked the box (with google) and tried it by not checking it. When my phone reboots i get the exclamation mark with a little phone on it. Everything seems to be running good except for this part# flash_image recovery /sdcard/recovery-RA-heroc-v1.2.3.img flash_image recovery /sdcard/recovery-RA-heroc-v1.2.3.img error opening /sdcard/recovery-RA-heroc-v1.2.3.img: No such file or directory can this be the problem? If so, how can i fix it?

Nov 20, 2010I tried the one click root on my fascinate. It was successful and the phone rebooted. After it started up, it kept making noise like it was ringing and wouldn't stop. Also now when I send texts, it will send them but it wont show them in the screen. Also the browser says page not available and every time I download from the market it says download failed. Nov 23, 2010I have been thinking about rooting my phone ever since i got it, the Evo is my first Android phone so I'm kinda new to all of this. When Z4Root came out I thought about using it but then noticed that it did not work on NAND devices. The reason I have not rooted is because of the warranty stuff. So I have a few questions I need to ask. I see that with Z4root they have added an option for temporary root which will work on NAND devices, if I do use this will they be able to tell my phone was rooted after a restart, will the temporary root allow me to use apps such as wireless tether for root users, if I root and have insurance on my phone will they not acknowledge the insurance since it is rooted, and if I unroot the phone by restarting will the warranty still be acknowledged.

Android :: Click To Expand List -and- Click On A Button?
May 31, 2010I have just started my career as an android programmer, and am currently relying heavily on the sample code and api examples. I have been working with this api example, to produce an expandable list of items (note this example does not use the ExpadableListView).In playing with the example, I tried to add another widget that would become visible and be gone at the same time as the text (mDialogue in the sample code). This works well with another TextView, but as soon as I tried to add a button widget, it stopped working. The list would expand on first click, showing my hidden TextView and Button, but it will not disappear on further clicks. The button is however, clickable, and I was able to set up an onClick listener to change the button text back and forth.I'm starting to wonder, is it just not possible to have a clickable item inside a clickable list item? Or is there some kind of work around? Would it solve my problem if I used ExpandableListView?
