I've run z4root and it went through the process and rebooted my phone (Motorola Droid). When looking through my list of apps, I have one listed called "Superuser" does that mean I am now rooted? Just leaving this topic open just in case anyone could help me out on what to do possibly after my phone *might* be rooted. Running the program in 3...2...1...

I just spent 2 hours rooting on Friday. Hope this helps folks avoid the hassle.
I had a droid rooted and now I'm finally going to root my X. I was going to use the one click root because I honestly just don't want to deal with a lot of hassle. I read that the universal one click root doesn't work if I am already running Froyo. Is there a one click option that I can use?

Phone Model: Nec N-06C
Firmware version: 2.3.3
What I used and have installed: SuperOneClick and SDK manager installed According to the thread from previous asking for the root method for N-04C, I tried to use SuperOneClick to root my phone, and the program actually stucks everytime like the pic...whenever I hit ROOT or SHELL ROOT.
if the picture does not show up...it is just saying
Description ADB cmd type time Result
Killing ADB server KillServer 3.76s
Starting ADB server Startserver 4.62s *daemon not running. starting it...
It does not proceed any further after showing [Starting ADB server] and the whole program just freezes.
Touted as "for most Android devices" which may or my not work, it is *new*.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI have been thinking about rooting my phone ever since i got it, the Evo is my first Android phone so I'm kinda new to all of this. When Z4Root came out I thought about using it but then noticed that it did not work on NAND devices. The reason I have not rooted is because of the warranty stuff. So I have a few questions I need to ask. I see that with Z4root they have added an option for temporary root which will work on NAND devices, if I do use this will they be able to tell my phone was rooted after a restart, will the temporary root allow me to use apps such as wireless tether for root users, if I root and have insurance on my phone will they not acknowledge the insurance since it is rooted, and if I unroot the phone by restarting will the warranty still be acknowledged.

I have just started my career as an android programmer, and am currently relying heavily on the sample code and api examples. I have been working with this api example, to produce an expandable list of items (note this example does not use the ExpadableListView). In playing with the example, I tried to add another widget that would become visible and be gone at the same time as the text (mDialogue in the sample code). This works well with another TextView, but as soon as I tried to add a button widget, it stopped working. The list would expand on first click, showing my hidden TextView and Button, but it will not disappear on further clicks. The button is however, clickable, and I was able to set up an onClick listener to change the button text back and forth.I'm starting to wonder, is it just not possible to have a clickable item inside a clickable list item? Or is there some kind of work around? Would it solve my problem if I used ExpandableListView?
