I have had this problem for a while now. Some apps just refuse to update. Appbrain being one of them. It says downloading then downloading failed. I even uninstalled it and installed from market still no go.I have about 5 apps that just refuse to update and now i dont even have appbrain because it wont download it. Anyone have a link to the apk to appbrian 5.11? or whatever the newest one is. When i press cancel download on the appbrain page it force closes.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI signed up on the AppBrain website and down loaded the app, so i sync all my apps on there site and I thought this was great so I could see all my apps I have downloaded and now I log into the sight and I cant see my apps. On the side of the website I can see how many apps i have down loaded but I can not see my apps.

It seems difficult sometimes because spammers run around to so many apps saying "Great, I got the full version at" and it is the exact same thing at dozens of other products.Does the market or appbrain ever monitor their sites for spammers?

I have read a bit about the Android Market, Androlib and Appbrain, but I really don't have a good feel for what the differences are, what the strengths are and how they compare overall.
If anyone could help break things down for me that would be extraordinarily helpful. Heck, if we get enough solid info, I may even request this to be stickied in a few different places and you know you want some sexy spotlight
I've been trying to update Dante via both Appbrain and Market but they seem to be stuck on the download process. It's been trying for at least a week but no go. I've tried cancelling download multiple times to start again which immediately leads to a FC on com.android.vending. I uninstalled Dante on my phone hoping it would clear it out but no. I tried uninstalling Appbrain for the same reason, still no. Cleared caches on both Appbrain and Market no change. Shut down phone and did a battery pull same result. I'm out of ideas at this point any one else have anything? btw, I can download, update, and install everything else i've tried so other than dante all seems well.

I was just looking in at apps in my System Panel app and noticed that the AppBrain market is listed as cached but is still hitting the cpu like every couple seconds. Anyone else noticed this behavior? Is this normal? I'm going to try manually killing the app.

View 30 Replies View RelatedI was having apps hang on download from the appbrain market app. This was during an appbrain update. So I uninstalled appbrain. The downloads pending went through, but the appbrain update is now hanging in the downloads from the Android Marketplace. It just says "downloading." I can't kill the process. I have rebooted the phone, manually killed the process. I get this message: "Sorry! The application Market (process com.android.vending) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again." Then "Force Close." I want appbrain back, I love the service, but I don't know what to do.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI recently read that AppBrain updated their app to v5.0 but that the Fast Web Installer that pushing apps to your phone from Appbrain.com WITHOUT having to go through the Market is broken with the v5.0 update because of changes with the Market's recent update.

QUESTION: does the Fast Web Install still work with earlier versions of AppBrain?? I have kept v4.8 installed on my phone but I'm having a problem with the Fast Web Install. I'm not sure if I'm experiencing a temporary issue or if the Market update is affecting ALL versions of the Appbrain fast web push?
I installed an app yesterday, (appbrain web downloader) but couldn't get appbrain app to download, so I uninstalled the appbrain web app. Today I tried to update a couple apps, and niether would update- either I got a message that said download paused, with no way to re start, our it would just show it as downloading, but not making any progress. I tried to install another app off the market, just to see, and out wouldn't install either....
Tried-
Clearing market updater
Rebooting phone
Removing battery and re starting phone
going to titanium backup and wiping market data
What is the black box that kinda looks like a barcode on appbrain? Is there some kind of scanner that this is used with?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI'd like to put Appbrain on my Compaq Airlife 100, but I think their website thinks my Airlife is not an Android device as the page which I think is supposed to have the link on it says something like "Navigate here on your Android device", but of course, the Airlife *is* and Android device.
Anyway, anyone know where I can just download the APK file? There is no Marketplace on the Airlife, so I can't get it there.
It's a free application, so I'm not sure why it's so difficult to come by. I managed to get an old APK (version 2), but it crashed all the time, I'd like to try 3.2.1 and see if the issues are resolved.

OK appbrain don't work it opens up than i choose to open up a menu from inside the app it loads than goes back to home page of the app so annoying i cant use it for anything?

I have my own cubicle and get my own computer But they have blue coat Web filter And i lack Administrative So i can install only very limited programs. I've tried starling the android sdk But to no avail. I've thought about tethering too but i'm not sure if that will work Since i don't know if a computer.can maintain more than 1 internet connection. Basically i can't have my phone out while at work, so i need to figure out a way to use my phone to browse the internet on my computer screen without being obvious.

I use quite a lot of apps on my current Nokia, and whilst have had a very quick response on this forum to an equivalent to the one I could not live without, I find it annoying I can't really look round the android marketplace to understand the apps without having an android phone in the first place! Is there a way to browse the marketplace without having a phone first?
