I thought there was on the Eris but I can't seem to find it again .
I want to select text from Webview and than Highlight it.I am able to get the selected text using *emulateshiftHeld() *method but If i try to search it in file and than Underline it the problem is that it doesn't know the position of text so it underlines that word in whole file as many time it is repeated. So i want to find the position of that text (which will be known only at runtime) in webview. Can anyone please help me?

View 2 Replies View RelatedIf there was a way to display all text in a toast to be centered. For instance, I have a toast that has 2 lines of text in it. For purely aesthetic reasons, I would like the text to center-aligned instead of left-aligned. I've looked through the documentation and can't find anything about it. Is there a simple way to do this that I have missed?

View 15 Replies View RelatedI use TAB and Shift-Tab in Visual Studio to indent an entire selection. This does nothing in Eclipse, and I can't seem to find another way to do it.
Update: I wasn't really paying all that much attention to this initially and did not ask the question correctly.
I now realized that it is in XML files where TAB still does not indent a selection. I did not find a setting for this in the properties, so I assume it is not possible.
Now before I get flood of 'get handcent' and ' get chompsms' responses, I'm letting you all know that I have used both, and I have found both either don't show or don't save pic messages. I'm a promoter so I need to use pic messages, so don't mind the stock messenger since its the only one that works right with pic messaging. The only problem I have with it is that I can't select multiple contact from my list to text at the same time. How is this not a stock feature? If it did that, I would delete the other messenger apps and save very valuable space on my phone.

I long press to get the menu and choose 'select text', I get the cursor with the arrow but when I try anything, the entire paragraph gets selected. This is ONE thing the iPhone did great. Which leads to this question, is there an app that simulates the iPhone text selector (magnifying glass) ?
View 8 Replies View RelatedSince day 1 of getting this phone, I've been bombarded with text messages from TMZ (hollywood gossip company). I usually get anywhere from 5-20 text from them a day. Like I said, this has been an ongoing thing since day one and it's progressively getting worse. Ive never been to their site, no one has touched my phone and gone to their site nor text them. I keep a close watch over my phone at all times.
Is there any way I can block them? Its from "52966" TMZ News Alert.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI somehow (knowingly or unknowingly) touched & dialled a number from an adult content app and then hung up. Since that day, I keep getting text msgs from different numbers, with lewd text & asking me to call a number (constant across all these sms-es). I block the number using MyVerizon number blocking service; but in 2-3 days I get similar text, asking me to call the same number, from a different number. I keep on blocking this new number (from where the text came) and they keep on sending same text from a different number. This keep on increasing my text bill.
If I reply to one of those texts saying "STOP", as the verizon customer care rep suggested, wouldn't that flag my number as LIVE and they'll start sending me more texts? How about using sms blocker apps? Again, question there is - do the sms blocker apps just delete spam msgs upon receiving and will I still incur the sms cost in my bill?
One thing that I noticed from this phone, nexus one, is that you, the user, can not select people from your contacts when writing a text.. you would have to first go through your contacts and then choose one specific person to text... how would you do a mass text message... I want to have the choice of selecting who I want to receive the text after I write it... has any one felt the same way?? Has some tried to solve this "problem"

When selecting text on a touch screen, it sucks because your fingers block your view of the selection courser. I am not a huge fan of the magnification bubble that I've seen as it also blocks some of your screen.
I would like to propose a new selection behaviour that behaves like smearing paint on a sheet of paper. To select several words from a paragraph you would start the selection process (This would most likely be from a menu item "select text") and then touch somewhere inside your desired target. Then you would smear the selection highlight to one end and then smear it the other way to expand the highlighted area. You can smear back and forth as many times as you want always expanding the highlight until you lift off the screen. If you select too much, you need to cancel but I don't think this will be a problem often.
This behaviour is very similar to the current selection function except that when you start moving the other way it leaves the highlight at the max position you reached so you can go the other way and select where that max position should be.
With the current method if I don't place one end of my highlight correctly, I have to start over. This usually happens multiple times which is annoying.
