Android :: Sound Doesn't Go Out The Adapter On G1 When Disconnect Call
May 28, 2009
I have my G1 connected to a FM transmitter in my car with my bluetooth headset connected. Music has no problem going out the G1. A call comes in and I connect it. After I disconnect the call, the sound does not go out the adapter on the G1, but out the phone's speaker. Is there any setting to make sure the sound goes out the bottom adapter and not the phone's speaker?

I ported paranoid android from the desire HD to the thunderbolt and almost everything works fine except for the mic and speaker during calls. I have tried everything I can think of with my limited knowledge and was putting this here to see if some more seasoned devs may provide some insight. I'm hoping like hell this isn't kernel related but I seriously doubt it is. Data works fine and so does mms/SMS. I did have to port the ril from our limited ics roms we have to get data.

I'm using LauncherPro plus and cannot get back to the call screen to disconnect the call, the one in progress, if i leave that screen for any reason like to go to the home screen. If I switch over to HTC Sense I just hit the phone button from the home screen and it takes me back to the call in progress and I see a red 'end call' button. Is there a solution for this problem other than , just don't leave the call screen?

Sorry if this has been covered, I was unable to find anything close to this topic when searching....
When I turn off my bluetooth headset, when the phone recognizes that it is not connected, it tones - some sort of ringtone. It's pretty loud and I'd like to turn it off if possible, but can't find it in any of the settings. Anybody know where this setting is?

"How do you hang up incoming calls (in Android of course)?"First, I know this question has been asked and answered several times, and the response is always "you can't". But if we look in the market we get a few applications (all private software, no access to the source code that do this action, such as CallFilter, Panda firewall and others. So does somebody know how these apps do the hang up action, (or terminate, or disconnect or whatever you call it)?And other question, if the first don't get a response.. does somebody know how send an incoming call to the voice mail?Of course, all questions are about how to do it programmatically. So with the voicemail question I know there's a flag in contacts that is used for that, but like I said, I'd like to know the programmatical way.

I live in the UK and have ordered my Nexus One from the US, without a UK adapter. My question is what voltage the standard AC adapter uses, as the UK runs 240V typically. I can get hold of a cheap US-UK power adapter that doesn't do any voltage changes, so I was wondering whether that would be sufficient. Does anyone have any experience with this?

An OnItemClickListener for a ListView has the following method:
CODE:.......
I'd like to have the adapter behind the ListView refresh, and I believe this is done through the use of:
CODE:.........
How do I use the parent parameter in the onItemClick method to do this? So far I've tried:
CODE:.................
This throws an error because the object returned is of class HeaderViewListAdapter, which for reasons unknown isn't a subclass of BaseAdapter.

I have two questions:
1) Before the update, there was a sound that indicated when the call was ended. Anyway to get that back?
2) Has anyone figured out a way to change the end button behavior that was previously controlled by the Spare Parts app? I would like to end button to go home and then go to sleep but Spare Parts can't do it under the new software. Any ideas?

When I'm on a call and a 2nd call comes in, my phone doesn't ring or anything. Is there anyway to change this so that I know when I have a call waiting without having to look at the screen (which is usually pressed up against my ear)?

I have so far found two bugs in Galaxo 1.6.3:
a) Speaker doesn't work in call (very weak). works well in ringtones etc.
b) Scrolling contacts by letter doesn't work.
Other than that this is a leap forward, especially with the overclock options!
Both bugs, as well as others, fixed in 1.6.3.1 update!

In my android application I have the following As far as I am aware, I have followed the steps in the documentation to set it to play a sound from the resources folder, and to flash the lights. However, neither of these happen. It does, however, vibrate, as instructed. Any ideas what I'm doing wrong here? I've looked through the permissions that I can give the app in the AndroidManifest.xml file, but I can't see one for letting it flash the light or make sounds. Code...

I've looked up and down the SDK for this, but I can't find anything. I'm wondering if there's a way to transmit a sound, such as a WAV or OGG, during a call such that the person on the other end can hear it. (This sound should be heard in addition to, not in place of, the normal voice transmission.) Is there a possibility I may have overlooked?

Could it be possible now, which we can develop an Android application having the following requirement for its working steps Automatic receive the call, then Play some sound out to the caller, wait for DTMF response, then Record the caller sound (in the case that they permit, by pressing 1 as DTMF response)Callee can play back the recoreded sound later.

The 1.5 AVD doesn't seem to follow the documentation in: http://developer.android.com/reference/android/app/SearchManager.html
which says it's enough to call onSearchRequested() to call the search activity. I need to call startSearch() to make it work. However, when I check the source code of Activity.java, onSearchRequested() does call startSearch().
This works in 1.6.
Is this a bug in 1.5, or did I miss something?

Here is what the SDK doc says about the bindService():
"Clients can also use Context.bindService() to obtain a persistent connection to a service. This likewise creates the service if it is not already running (calling onCreate() while doing so), but does not call onStartCommand()."
This means that the Service creation lifecyle events are different depending on whether or not the service is created out of startService() or bindService(). Why such difference?
