I downloaded this app earlier today and my phone has been running slow every since. I checked to see what has been using all my memory and was surprised to see the TV Guide app running. I closed it and my phone ran great again. Checked the battery usage to see it used almost 5% of my battery. The one problem? I NEVER EVEN USED IT YET. Anyone else have a similar issue with this app on the Droid?

I find there was many discussions about the Style Guide when Android was still in Beta and RC. Now Android 1.0 has been released. The new release cupcake also went out. I am curious about whether Google has a plan to release a Style Guide for Android app development.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI got my x on launch day no root no 2.2 all stock .well i've been noticing its getting slower don't have much installed only about 10 apps. The browser will start and then stop when u tell it to go somewere then after a dew sec it takes back off. Text message when u bring it up it takes about 10 sec to load then another lag to start typing and there wont be any old messages in box and when they do finally come up u can't scroll threw the old ones.

View 4 Replies View RelatedIs anyone experiencing slow connection speeds when using the EVO mobile hotspot. From the Evo phone itself, I am getting 2 - 3 Mb/s download speeds. When I connect my laptop or ipad, I am getting max 500 kb/s download speeds on them. The phone continues to get 2 - 3 Mb/s download speeds while hotspot is on. I have tried different wireless security settings but all seem to exhibit the same behavior. Any thoughts on how to rectify this? I am assuming the mobile hotspot should be providing download speeds comparable with the native EVO connection.

I just got the sprint htc hero and setup the pop email with the native mail application. I am a Yahoo PLUS member, so I set it up as the yahoo mail site said to (plus.pop.mail.yahoo.mail etc). When I do a manual mail check, it takes FOREVER to download the emails! What is going on here? gmail is super fast to download, but the yahoo takes 5 minutes sometimes. i dont understand. I dont want to use the IMAP either.

Past 2 days the wireless has been down due to a storm and I was forced to use phone for internet after not using it for months. Its slow almost dial up slow, even tho the phone shows its in 3G the browsing and download speeds are painfully slow. By the way I am using easy tether.

I could have sworn I saw something about a link to the Droid Incredible User Guide. The only link I could find by Googling it is invalid. Was there an issue with the guide and was it taken down? I hate how slow the Gallery3D system app is. It's been slow on both my Motorola Droid & HTC Incredible running various ROMS, including stock. It's ridiculous, actually. The HTC Gallery is great by the way it organized photos and is easier to use, but isn't an option for an AOSP ROM [afaik]. Does anyone have a recommendation as to what my other options could be? My question was in regards to the camera's use. The above article makes use of a canvas to preview the image, if one didn't want to preview the image before taking it could that be done? Is it necessary to use a preview of the camera image or can I just call takepicture to take the picture and catch the resulting callback to save it to a file?
Does anyone else have problems with the download of packages in the Android SDK? I can download the SDK with around 300 kB/sec, but downloading the packages inside the SDK reaches only around 5 kB/sec and it tells me something like "215 minutes left". I tried it a couple of times the last days but it didn't get better. Anyone else having problems with the Google Maps App on the EVO? Whenever I try to view my location, zoom in or out, or drag the map around, all I get is the white pixilated screen. Sometimes it will load, sometimes it won't. Sometimes it takes over 3 minutes to load. I don't understand because I've checked my 3G connection and it's strong - I'm assuming the phone connects to the internet to download the maps. I used to have a Hero and it wasn't this slow.

I've noticed that lately, my download speeds on my rooted Droid (running BB 0.5 most recently, though this "problem" occurred with BB 0.4 and LFY 1.6 as well) have not been stellar, though my upload speeds seem fine:
Could this be caused by the baseband? Im running C_01.43.01P. Prior to that, I was running (I think) 3E, which came with the phone, and worked fine with BB 0.4 but when the updated one came out I updated it since, hey, it's newer right? Anyway, (1) is this certainly the problem? and (2) if I choose to, how can I safely roll back to the 3E baseband?
I have had my Samsung Galaxy S for about a month now, and have just recently took the plunge and rooted it. I am now seeking a means of backing up my entire phone using a method that will essentially "freeze" my phone's current state, allowing me to restore to this exact state in the future, like an image of my phone. I want all apps, SMS messages, contacts, all settings, everything to be frozen in time as a backup.
I have searched these forums and through Google search results extensively and found a lot of information, most of it regarding Nandroid, Titanium Backup, SPRecovery, ClockworkMod Recovery etc. My understanding is this:
Titanium backup is more of a soft backup, it backs up your apps and settings and allows them to be reapplied.
Nandroid requires the recovery mode to be flashed using ClockworkMod Recovery
SPRecovery can be used instead of ClockworkMod Recovery, but they both have their own pros/cons.
Is there a definitive guide to achieve what I want?
Most of the guides I have read have been tailored to other devices such as the G1, HTC Hero, Droid etc.
TL;DR: I want to make a complete backup of everything on my phone, save it as an image, and be able to restore it later.
When I was looking at Android phones (I bought a Motorola Droid), the guy at Sprint told me that there was an app on the Hero that would allow you to search for a place and then show you the building and through the walls of the building. I just got my phone tonight and wanted to download that application, but have no idea what its called.
