View 3 RepliesI have setup my yahoo account on my droid, and it is working, but is overworking. What is happening is I keep getting the emails over and over no matter how many times I delete them. I dont understand what I am doing wrong. It works but I delete the emails and they come again and again. I had to delete the account to stop the endless loop.
View 8 Replies View RelatedWhen I use the Gmail app it loads very quick and reliable. But when I load the Email app which launches Yahoo or the stand alone yahoo email app, it takes forever to load and 50% of the time it crashes. Anyone else have this problem?
View 5 Replies View RelatedMy Gmail works perfectly (of course it does) but my Email program is another story. I can get it to sync fine with my Cox e-mail after I manually set it up, but I will not automatically retrieve e-mails from the server regardless of what I set the check interval to. I purposely sent myself a test email from another source and the phone never receives it unless I physically go into the email program and then it connects to the server and downloads the message. Is anyone else experiencing this? Am I doing something wrong? Right now I have the phone set to 5 min check intervals and it still doesn't automatically indicate I have new mail even though I know there is two brand new e-mails sitting there waiting for me.
View 14 Replies View RelatedAnyone else having problems with the Google Maps App on the EVO? Whenever I try to view my location, zoom in or out, or drag the map around, all I get is the white pixilated screen. Sometimes it will load, sometimes it won't. Sometimes it takes over 3 minutes to load. I don't understand because I've checked my 3G connection and it's strong - I'm assuming the phone connects to the internet to download the maps. I used to have a Hero and it wasn't this slow.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI recently got a HTC magic, and was trying to get my yahoo mail into email application without success. It kept saying i typed in the wrong ID or password. It accepted hotmail and google mail though. Anyone managed to get yahoo mail into Email application? Please tell me how you did.
View 29 Replies View RelatedI switched phones a couple of days ago and am trying to reload all of the apps/widgets I had on my other Motorla Droid. I can not find the yahoo email app/widget anywhere. Nothing on the market, I've found nothing on the internet about it being taken off. Does anyone have any information on where I can find it? I use Yahoo a lot for personal email. It was not through the browser it was definitely an app/widget (can't remember which one)
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am doing an Android application and I want to get the last 25 sent mails from a certain email account.For Gmail I might use http://g4j.sourceforge.net/ and there is Mail Web Service API for Yahoo at http://developer.yahoo.com/mail/.But I couldn't find something to do it with Hotmail.Do you know if it is possible?Also I am worried of having so many dependencies. I don't know if I should do something like https://sourceforge.net/projects/mrpostman/ and do web scraping.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI remembered from my G1 days a way to sync the E-Mail app up to Yahoo's free (not PoP3) servers so I gave it try on my new BH2 and it works just fine:Here are the steps:
1. Enter Yahoo ID and Password (hint, just use your "username", not the whole joeblow@yahoo.com
2. Select Manual Setup
3. Setup IMAP
4. Incoming server is imap.mail.yahoo.com
5. Port is 143
6. Security Type is "TLS (if available)"
7. Leave IMAP path prefix blank
8. Hit next
9. SMTP Server is smtp.mobile.mail.yahoo.com
10. Port is 25
11. Security is again TLS (if available)
12. Check Require sign-in
13. Verify username and password
14. enjoy
To Sync up, you CANNOT be on WiFi (dunno why, maybe Yahoo has a deal with T-Mobile?).One other note: if after rechecking all your settings and it still says "invalid username/password" try going onto your Yahoo Account and change your "Location" to ASIA ! Weird I know, but for some reason, some people can't get this to work with US-English as their Yahoo Locale (not talking about your phone's settings here, all on Yahoo site end!).
Anyone having a problem logging into the default mail client with a yahoo account. On my last Captivate it had no problem but on this new one it keeps saying that I put in a "incorrect" username/password.
View 2 Replies View RelatedAfter receiving the official OTA 2.2 update, my yahoo mail doesn't work. I got the low space warning three days after the update, so I deleted the HTC Mail accounts to start over since it had gotten to over 100MB. It loaded my msn just fine, but said that it couldn't authenticate my yahoo. I thought my PW was wrong, so I used the laptop to get a new PW, and confirmed it by logging into it on the laptop and again at work on the desktop. I went to add the new yahoo mail account to the phone, and I'm still getting the authentication failure message. Can someone please help! Yes, I still use yahoo for less important mail/notifications.
View 6 Replies View RelatedAnyone notice that new emails take 2-3 minutes to show up? I thought it was supposed to be instant?Yahoo email doesn't update until you open the email app.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI just pulled the battery to do a reset last night after a lockup and today I'm getting notifications everytime I get a new email. it never used to do this and i figured it was just cause I didn't use the gmail. now I'm thinking that it just might be one of the background tasks that I was always killing. I recently switched to home++ and I didn't use the built in task killer all day. so I guess my question is, does anyone know which background task would control this so I don't kill it? also, is there a place to go in the settings to change the led color for email alerts?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI just got the sprint htc hero and setup the pop email with the native mail application. I am a Yahoo PLUS member, so I set it up as the yahoo mail site said to (plus.pop.mail.yahoo.mail etc). When I do a manual mail check, it takes FOREVER to download the emails! What is going on here? gmail is super fast to download, but the yahoo takes 5 minutes sometimes. i dont understand. I dont want to use the IMAP either.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI currently use the SenseUI Messaging App for SMS. I had tried HandscentSMS but ultimately decided to go back to the SenseUI implementation, due to the way the app displayed the notification when I unlocked the phone (under the unlock slide bar). I've been texting the a certain special someone quite often, somewhere in the neighborhood of 1000+ messages at this point. I notice, that when I want to bring up her thread, the phone slows down and it takes a 10-20 seconds to come up. Other threads, take only a second or two to load. I assume this is because the HTC app is effectively trying to load all 1000+ messages. Is there a way to limit the amount of messages viewable or a way to archive the messages to my sd card?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI read somewhere (and have observed) that starting threads is slow. I always assumed that AsyncTask created and reused a single thread because it required being started inside the UI thread. The following (anonymized) code is called from a ListAdapter's getView method to load images asynchronously. It works well until the user moves the list quickly, and then it becomes "janky".
final File imageFile = new File(getCacheDir().getPath() + "/img/" + p.image);
image.setVisibility(View.GONE);
view.findViewById(R.id.imageLoading).setVisibility(View.VISIBLE);
(new AsyncTask<Void, Void, Bitmap>() {
@Override
protected Bitmap doInBackground(Void... params) {
try {....
for some reason my yahoo email keeps alerting new email buts its one that ive already read or deleted? no matter what i do mark as read or delete it few min later new email notification and its the same few emails?
View 5 Replies View RelatedGot the OTA like everyone else and everything works great. The ONLY thing I have realized is that my photo Gallery (the stock one) is running SOOO slow. I used to be able to flick through the photos without ever coming upon a grey square (with no pic). Now, after a strong flick, I get nothing but grey squares. They eventually load into pictures, but it takes about 3 - 4 seconds before they load. Any ideas? Could it be there are too many pics in the phone / card or is this as a result of the update?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI do not know why Hangouts load and show messages and SMS very slowly and it take long time to load it.for example I must wait for load one message or SMS.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have galaxo 1.6.3.1. after playing around with the launcher (replaced AdvancedLauncher with Helix for donut) i now experience some troubles with the dialer - its extremely slow: when i press the dial button i takes about 5 seconds to load. if i click the Contacts tab it takes around 3-5 seconds.
I tried clearing the dial application's data (thus removing all my contacts and my call log), but its still slow.
Offcourse there's always the solution of reapplying update.zip but i want to avoid it
Would this be a ROM issue? Maybe an issue with Launcher Pro Beta? When I hit my home screen button, it takes a few seconds for my shortcuts and widgets to load. I really like LPB but am not liking how long it's taking to load. I set it as my only launcher in my ROM that I made so I can't go into another launcher and see if it's slow, does anyone think that could be the culprit?
View 12 Replies View RelatedI have finally figured out why I don't always get a notification for new mails on my HTC Hero.
I have setup an Exchange account for the build in mail application that comes with the phone, and I want it to give me a notification when I receive a new e-mail.
This will however only happen if the mail ends up in the Inbox folder in my Exchange account.
I do not get any notification if I have a rule that moves the mail automatically to a sub folder in the Inbox.
I like to sort my mails using a folder for each sender and I use the rules in Outlook to do this automatically, but this prevents the notification feature in the HTC Hero mail application from working.
I can still refresh a folder in the phone mail program and download all received mails, but no notifications and I have to do this manually.
It seems to me that the Inbox folder is only folder to be updated automatically by the ActiveSync connection.
I have my Data Syncronization settings set to As Items Arrive.
So do any of you out there know how to get the mail program to download all new mails as they arrive and give a notification on the phone, not matter what folder the mail ends up in on the Echange server?
Today for some reason, I can't access my Yahoo! email. I've been reading and replying fine until now. I don't know if I accidentally changed a preference or what but if I did, can someone help me set it back. The pop-up message I get now when I try to open a message in Yahoo! email says "complete action using..." and gives me the option to "compose" or "mail". I've tried both but "compose" starts a new mail message to verizon wireless, and clicking on "mail" takes me to a new screen asking me to "Choose a mail provider".

On my Droid X on the default email app that is provided on the Droid X I have my Yahoo email account on there. Well it seems that I am receiving my emails extremely late. For example they aren't delivering right as they get to my Yahoo mail account. I'll receive 15 - 20 emails that I was supposed to get yesterday today. I have Push enabled but it seems like that makes it worse. It seems as if it would be better to have Fetch enabled then I could at least get my email every 15min. However I'd like to receive it instantly. The reason for this is in case I receive an email from a friend or someone I can reply back instantly and be able to keep a conversation going or if I get a facebook notification I can respond to that instantly. The facebook app on my Droid X doesn't even give me notifications like it says it should. So I pretty much have to rely on my email for that. So is there anything I can do to fix this?

Everyone this new email app for Android from Seven that's still in BETA.
It gives you PUSH mail for all the common types of email such as Yahoo, Hotmail, Google and more!
It gives me PUSH mail for my hotmail and keeps all my folders in sync and you don't need hotmail Exchange ActiveSync for it to push!
If like me you require better than pop3 then why don't you give it a try and see what you think.
I have put a link to the website & another link direct to the registration page below.
You need to create an account to be able to download the app direct from them.
When you get to the download page and it asks for your device select OTHER then ANDROID
I'm sure there will be some people who will be very exicted by this app, particularly Hotmail & Live users
