Android :: Not Able To Sign Out Of Google Talk?

why I'm not able to sign out of Google Talk? I have 2 Gmail accounts and want to switch over to my other one. I unchecked the automatic sign in box in the settings and forced closed and reopened the program again. When I open it, it automatically signs me into one account. It's extremely annoying. I hope I don't have to do a full reset of the phone because I already have so much stuff on it already, including a lot of personal data. This is something that I just can't get by because I need to start using G Talk now.

If I am not mistaken it's the same as the Talk, I heard that it uses a lot of the battery power, and I don't really use it. I went to settings and I unchecked the auto sign in, but when i go to Talk again, they automatically sign me in, did I do anything wrong? or am i signed out when I exit Talk?

Does anyone know how to sign out of google talk I signed in and now these annoying alerts won't stop lol there has to be a way to sign out I just can't find it.

My boyfriend uses a BB and loves Blackberry Messenger. I'd like to be able to use Google Talk on my Hero and his BB in lieu of SMS for chatting with him while at work, so that I can turn my phone on Airplane mode with only wifi on to save my battery (signal is terrible in my office)My concern is that I'm not sure if Google Talk is always connected like his BBM seems to be. Anyone have any insight on this? I see that "Automatically Log In" is an option....but say for instance we don't chat for a few days and he decides to send me a message. Will it be pushed to my phone?

Interesting question for you all. I'm running a rooted Eris on xtrROM 4.6 with all the little bells and whistles. No apps that are out of the ordinary. Just a moment ago I had the little warning triangle with the sign through it. I opened it up and it was a message that said google sign in error.It gave me one of those stylized arrangements of letters that i had to punch to make sure I wasn't a bot. Generally stuff like that makes me fairly wary so I closed it and opened both my gmail folder and google calendar (which I just started using today actually). Both worked fine. Was this a fishing scam of some kind? I've been reading some reports of how fishing scams are coming over through SMS and I've gotten some of the more obvious ones for walmart cards etc, but this one was new to me.

I wiped my phone back to factory defaults, then signed into the phone with my Google Account, then download and install Google Voice. When I launched Google Voice for the first time a dialog showed up and asked, "Sign in as mygoogleacco @gmail.com?" When I clicked the Yes button Google Voice signed in for me ***without*** asking me for any credentials.How do I add this to an application of my own?I want to make an IM / SMS application (leveraging Google Voice and Google Talk services) but I don't want the end-user to have to give me their credentials. This is on an ADP1 phone running android 1.6.

I just bought the HTC Wildfire but I cannot login to my google account to use latitude. When I enter my email and password it says xxxxxxx@something.be does not use gmail and then it suggests alternatives ending at gmail.com.I do not wish to create a new gmail account, I simply want to use the same email and password that I also use on my computer to login to google and latitude and so on. I can see latitude under this account on my pc but can't login to it with the wildfire because it keeps moaning about this gmail.

When I bring up my friends list in google latitude, I can NEVER see my profile pic, although it shows up on my friend's maps no problem, and it also shows up when I sign in to latitude on my desktop... WTF? Also it seems to be displaying different pics for some friends on my phone then it does on my desktop. This is all happening on my MOto DROID-- and btw everything else seems to be working fine with it. Anybody else notice this?

I was wondering if anyone has been using Google Talk exclusively for SMS and ditched their texting w Verizon all together. I mainly ask as I am curious how reliable it is as a replacement for SMS. I'd love to cut my phone bill by $20 a month. My friend (5-6 months ago) said he was having issues w Gtalk in regards to some msgs not sending, or he never actually received them to his phone. He had issues with his N1 on Tmobile. Is anyone still experiencing similar problems? My SMS MUST function and be completely reliable as I use it constantly to communicate with my managers.

I like chatting within Google Talk, but the thing that is missing from the Android Application is your SMS contacts. I added a few of my family members to my chat as SMS (just their phone numbers), and I can chat with them via chat for me, and SMS for them in any browser. Is it possible to send SMS via Google Talk on Android? I assume it's possible because it's possible on a PC, but why hasn't Google added the support? I guess the carriers wouldn't like it much, but that shouldn't stop Google.

I've been having problems with Google Talk on my Desire for 2 days now - I can't start it up. Whenever I click the icon, it shows a black screen for about 1/10 of a second, then goes right back to the home screen. I tried force stopping the app, clearing the cache and the data and restarting my phone and checked to see if there was something wrong with my data connection, but nothing worked.

which protocol Google Talk on Android uses? I know that for the Talk application on Gmail uses the Jabber/XMPP protocol. I need to know what protocol (or if it's the same protocol) that's the protocol being used on port 5228.
The reason being, my organization will open the port to the Android sync and push services but only for that specific protocol (for security purposes obviously).

I did a search and found some old (4-11 months old) threads but I'm hoping there's been some updates.I just decided to give Google Talk a whirl and it looks great, but the first account I added to my phone isn't the account I primarily use (which has the majority of my contacts). Is there a way to switch accounts in Google Talk so I have all the contacts from my main account?If not (that'd be something they need to address in a GTalk update) is there an app that will allow me to use the other?

I'm an Android newbie - I've just purchased an Android v4.2.2 tablet and I'm having a basic problem that I can't sign in (using the tablet) to my google account, which is not a gmail account: it's xyz@myisp.com. I can sign in OK from my windows-based PC and netbook - but from Android, the email/password are not recognised.
To get going I created a gmail account which enables me to sign in to my new android device: but obviously that doesn't give me access to all my google-related "stuff" that is in my xyz@myisp.com google account.

I keep having to input CAPCHA.My phone frequently has a pop-up box that stops me from doing anything. It says "Google Sign-in" and it has the CATCHA box.I have a HTC EVO 4G, with an aftermarket battery. I am on wifi a lot as I live in an area with a lot of free wifi and I have wifi at home and at my girlfriend's house. I have had Android since the Dev G1, but never had this with the G1.The problem is, I have to enter it several times a day, and it only seems to pop up when I try to do something, like answer the phone or type a text message. Since I have no keyboard, these arbitrary sequences of letters are a real pain. About half the time it makes me enter two sequences of letters-I do not know if that means I did the first set wrong or what, but I have to do CAPTCHA every day.

My stock Rogers Galaxy Nexus recently went into a boot loop for some reason, so I just reset it to factory defaults. It now boots and asks me login to my google account and now it freezes on 'signing into google'.. And after a couple of hours of waiting (I figured it was just downloading alot of photos or something) it won't cancel either.

so Google Talk has different bubble statuses that you can give yourself. Green for available, red for busy, etc but there's a blue bubble that is displayed.I read online that this means you have been "Idle" for 10 minutes but how does this work on the Android phone? If someone is always signed in, why does this bubble pop up?

I'm interested in creating an Android application that will set the user's Google Talk custom status message to something created by my application.Since a user running Android (at least on the G1 w/ T-Mobile) is always signed in to their Google Account, is there a way to leverage that and not require the user enter credentials into my application? If not, is there an easy-to-use XMPP interface available or am I stuck with writing a XMPP client from scratch? Alternatively, does the Google Talk application running on Android phones support any intents that I could use to tell it to change the user's status? While researching this issue I have come across a number of pages that reference what appears to be a deprecated com.google.android.xmppservice and com.google.android.gtalkservice. Is there a replacement for either of those or were they removed without replacement?

Android 3 and 4 have a new option that allows the user to add new a Google Account to the phone by using the Browser Sign-In. The option is available when you try to add a new Google Account to Android (see screenshot).
Use Browser Sign-In with SAML based Single Sign-On? It is not working with our SAML setup.

I am all of the sudden having a problem with the Droid Eris.I keep getting a pop up Google sign in on the screen.the username shown on the screen has gmail address(part of it is my address but at the end of my address there are 2 extra numbers added to it (i do not have numbers in my address (do not know how it got there) there is no way to change the address on the pop up, but i try to put in my password that I have and it does not work.I can access gmail from a computer with my correct gmail address and PW.Is there any way to get in contact with Google (haha) and Verizon says it is Googles problem.I want to try to get back my correct gmail addy on the Eris, if anyone can help ? All I can do is talk and receive text and go on web, If I try to go onto Menu, Market it asks me the PW.
