If I am not mistaken it's the same as the Talk, I heard that it uses a lot of the battery power, and I don't really use it. I went to settings and I unchecked the auto sign in, but when i go to Talk again, they automatically sign me in, did I do anything wrong? or am i signed out when I exit Talk?

I don't use it and it's always running unless I remember to shut it off. Is there any way to disable auto load?
View 5 Replies View Relatedwhy I'm not able to sign out of Google Talk? I have 2 Gmail accounts and want to switch over to my other one. I unchecked the automatic sign in box in the settings and forced closed and reopened the program again. When I open it, it automatically signs me into one account. It's extremely annoying. I hope I don't have to do a full reset of the phone because I already have so much stuff on it already, including a lot of personal data. This is something that I just can't get by because I need to start using G Talk now.

It's logged in to an email address I don't want to use. Is there a way for me to switch it to another one or be able to choose between the two of them? Is the auto login a glitch? View 4 Replies View RelatedMy status on Google Talk never changes despite the fact that I have the settings checked in settings to "go to away when I turn off the screen" as well as "show mobile indicator to friends". This wasn't functional in 1.5, 2.1v1 and now 2.1v3 on my Eris. Has anyone had success? I've seen this function work on a TMobile rooted G1 but that's it.
I can watch the indicator change on the web when I change it manually (signed in as another user), and its very responsive. However, no auto-away when i lock the phone, and no indication that I'm on a mobile phone.
I'm on CM10 with default 3.9.xx play store version and I want to keep it, but the play store still auto update it to 3.10.14

I'm looking for a widget, that with one click of a button, it can restrict background data, disable auto-sync and enable mobile data, and when pressed again, enable WiFi, disable background restriction and enable auto-sync.
This function, no matter how trivial, would save time and effort.
Is there anything like this out there? Would something like this require root?

I was wondering if anyone has been using Google Talk exclusively for SMS and ditched their texting w Verizon all together. I mainly ask as I am curious how reliable it is as a replacement for SMS. I'd love to cut my phone bill by $20 a month. My friend (5-6 months ago) said he was having issues w Gtalk in regards to some msgs not sending, or he never actually received them to his phone. He had issues with his N1 on Tmobile. Is anyone still experiencing similar problems? My SMS MUST function and be completely reliable as I use it constantly to communicate with my managers.

It says "Google Sign-in" and it has the CATCHA box.I have a HTC EVO 4G, with an aftermarket battery. I am on wifi a lot as I live in an area with a lot of free wifi and I have wifi at home and at my girlfriend's house. I have had Android since the Dev G1, but never had this with the G1.The problem is, I have to enter it several times a day, and it only seems to pop up when I try to do something, like answer the phone or type a text message. Since I have no keyboard, these arbitrary sequences of letters are a real pain. About half the time it makes me enter two sequences of letters-I do not know if that means I did the first set wrong or what, but I have to do CAPTCHA every day.

It now boots and asks me login to my google account and now it freezes on 'signing into google'.. View 10 Replies View RelatedI am all of the sudden having a problem with the Droid Eris.I keep getting a pop up Google sign in on the screen.the username shown on the screen has gmail address(part of it is my address but at the end of my address there are 2 extra numbers added to it (i do not have numbers in my address (do not know how it got there) there is no way to change the address on the pop up, but i try to put in my password that I have and it does not work.I can access gmail from a computer with my correct gmail address and PW.Is there any way to get in contact with Google (haha) and Verizon says it is Googles problem.I want to try to get back my correct gmail addy on the Eris, if anyone can help ? All I can do is talk and receive text and go on web, If I try to go onto Menu, Market it asks me the PW.

Something that looks like an email address is becoming clickable, even though it's now within an <a> tag or has an onclick attribute. How do I disable this auto-linking? When it is flips to landscape, it gets distorted. I have apps on my android that do not rotate when I try to rotate my device.

I have a Casio Commando not that it should matter. I've gone to Settings, Language & Keyboard and can't find anywhere there to turn off Auto Correct when texting. I don't mind it suggesting words and then me selecting them but it drives me nuts when I type a word and hit space and it automatically changes the words. How to make this stop, I'm ready to ditch Go SMS Pro and try another messaging App at this point.

I'd like to be able to use Google Talk on my Hero and his BB in lieu of SMS for chatting with him while at work, so that I can turn my phone on Airplane mode with only wifi on to save my battery (signal is terrible in my office)My concern is that I'm not sure if Google Talk is always connected like his BBM seems to be. View 11 Replies View RelatedI've had my Sprint Hero for around 4 months now, it is not rooted, running stock 1.5.I was trying to check the marketplace for any updates to my apps and it brought me to the set up google account screen.I've tried signing in and It tells me that there was an error on sign in and my SIM card might not be provisioned for data. Obviously as a Sprint customer I don't have a SIM card, is there anything I can do to get things working again?
View 5 Replies View RelatedInteresting question for you all. I'm running a rooted Eris on xtrROM 4.6 with all the little bells and whistles. No apps that are out of the ordinary. Just a moment ago I had the little warning triangle with the sign through it. I opened it up and it was a message that said google sign in error.It gave me one of those stylized arrangements of letters that i had to punch to make sure I wasn't a bot. Generally stuff like that makes me fairly wary so I closed it and opened both my gmail folder and google calendar (which I just started using today actually). Both worked fine. Was this a fishing scam of some kind? I've been reading some reports of how fishing scams are coming over through SMS and I've gotten some of the more obvious ones for walmart cards etc, but this one was new to me.

When I launched Google Voice for the first time a dialog showed up and asked, "Sign in as mygoogleacco @gmail.com?" When I clicked the Yes button Google Voice signed in for me ***without*** asking me for any credentials.How do I add this to an application of my own?I want to make an IM / SMS application (leveraging Google Voice and Google Talk services) but I don't want the end-user to have to give me their credentials. When I enter my email and password it says xxxxxxx@something.be does not use gmail and then it suggests alternatives ending at gmail.com.I do not wish to create a new gmail account, I simply want to use the same email and password that I also use on my computer to login to google and latitude and so on. I can see latitude under this account on my pc but can't login to it with the wildfire because it keeps moaning about this gmail.
