I was wondering if there's any app. that can be used for international call. I'm currently living in U.S. and want to make call to other countries. Please recommend me one that I can use and how to use them It's because my parents are staying in other country. I know GV offers cheap international call but I was not invited still.

I know there are lots of comments that some folks have issues. Maybe OTA will fix it etc etc. My wife called my from Beijing, China on her Incredible to my Incredible here in California. Sounded PERFECT. Crystal clear no issues on either end. FWIW data has worked perfectly. She can access some sites like Facebook that the wifi in her hotel firewalls.The network itself was pretty amazing too. No call lag whatsoever.

I have a unlocked Samsung Vibrant and plan on purchasing a SIM card from Orange Wireless for local calls on the Island, unless they sell SIM cards with international credits already on them. I just want to know what would be the cheapest route for me to make calls back home. So far it looks like using the NIM BUZZ app and making the calls VOIP will be the cheapest way.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm based in the US and if I go into my google checkout merchant account and go into tax settings, there are only options for setting tax rates for US states. Aren't we supposed to charge VAT taxes if we sell ( via Android Market/Google Checkout) internationally?
Not that I would know how to actually pay those countries their taxes.
Do I in fact owe taxes to other countries if I'm in the US and selling software (apps) say to the UK? My company has physical presence in only one US state. For sales to US customers that typically means I only have to charge (the customer) and pay (the state) sales tax when the "shipping address" of the customer is in the same state that my company has a presence in.
But how is it supposed to work for sales from US to other countries, and where do we set this up in Google Checkout and how (if in fact we owe those countries their tax money) do we actually go about paying them?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI own HTC one X,(UK model). Recently my mobile started acting strangely. It is getting restarting often and on doing so, it itself getting formatted. And once it went to main menu, it is showing error as gapps. process is stopped working.
More than that once it got switched off, it is not getting turned on. I don no what happened to my mobi.
When i took to HTC service centre, they said that this is international phone and we don't have os for this mobile, so try outside for OS.
Previously atleast the HTC start up screen will get opened sometimes. Now not even that is getting opened.
I'm doing a bit of international travel next week. Just got off the phone with VZW. The woman on the other end of the line told me that, even when internationally roaming, calls are free. Not free except for data. As in you don't get charged. Even over 3G (since it doesn't work over WiFi). I don't think that she was right. Can anyone confirm this? I would have much less trouble believing this if Skype were enabled with WiFi.

I want to know if I turn off the "Data while Roaming" feature and put my phone into Airplane mode will I still be charged if I check my email and surf the web only when connected to a WiFI network. I am getting mixed responses from customer service whether or not I can bypass international roaming charges by doing this. I'm pretty sure I won't be charged when using my phone over wifi but I just wanted to make sure.

I want to be able to selectively pick the numbers I never want to dial as I have run a huge bill by mistake. I don't want to put international barring, as I won't be able to text abroad. I just want the app to stop me from calling abroad. Does anyone know of any app or know of a workaround? I currently use Phonebook and I don't know if this is possible with this app.

View 11 Replies View RelatedI've had my Incredible for a month now and feel it is the best phone I've had. I'm coming from a Palm Treo 755P which I thought was good, but now looks like a brick. This morning I tried to make an international call from the Inc. and received a message from VW that the number was not in service or had been changed. My contacts list has a prefix of '+' in front of international numbers. he Palm recognized that and substituted a 011 instead. When I changed the number in the Inc. and added the 011, the call went through with no problem. I have tried international calls with Assisted Dialing on and off, and there is no difference. Is there a special way that international numbers need to be stored on the Inc. for the '+' to be recognized?

I am going on a trip to England in a couple of weeks; I am not planning on using my phone to make calls or send texts while I am there, so I am not looking into any kind of international data plan (I'm not even sure if this exists for Eris). However, I will be driving around quite a bit, and it would be really nice if there was any way to use the GPS navigation. From other posts it seems like this may not be possible, but I'm not sure. I had thought that since GPS uses a satellite signal rather than the cell network, I could put the phone into airplane mode, then just enable satellite reception and I would be all set. Perhaps this doesn't work because the data connection is needed to load the maps ... ? Anyway, if someone could explain to me the ins, outs and possibilities of using GPS in other countries

View 2 Replies View RelatedI just took my first trip to Europe with my Captivate. While there I could not get my corporate email service (which is setup via exchange activesync) to push email. The only way I could get email was to open the email application. It would then force a sync and update. The gmail push (with gmail app) seamed to work fairly well although delayed. As soon as I landed on US soil yesterday, push was instantaneous. I am coming from Blackberry so I am used to seamless push everywhere in the world. I have talked to some iPhone users and they indicate similar issues. So is this just an exchange thing that I have to live with or is there something that I can do to improve performance?

This is then used to connect to other users using the application. My application relies on looking up the user's number from Android's Settings -> About Phone -> Phone identity -> Phone number (this can at times be blank.. but that is a separate problem). I am assuming that the above Phone number contains the user's full number. ie, my UK Android phone shows my number as: +447832xxxxxxxx, where 44 is the UK's international dialing code and 7832 is the operator. Is it safe to assume that all Androids phones would include the international dialing code, which starts with +? I would be indebted if any Android users could have a quick look at their Android settings and confirm whether Phone number is displayed as +international code+operator+number, i.e. US Android sets start with +1xxxxxx.

They have a Global Data Package that 64.99 unlimited data, so I'm putting that on for the 10 days I'm there. I just got my Dinc last week and I'm a total noob when it comes to it. I use Google Voice (love it) primarily because of it's visual voicemail on my Droid. I do have a Google Voice number, and I'm trying to decide whether to set the Droid app to "make calls using Google Voice" or not.
I have no problem with giving out a different number, and my placed calls seeing the GV number in caller ID.
My question is, does this affect how the call is actually connected, from a quality standpoint? I tired a call both ways, and the sound quality seemed a little bit different. But then, I am an obsessive compulsive weirdo.
Is there any difference in call quality or routing between making a native Verizon call and a Google Voice call on Droid? (Like, does Google voice actual use 3G to connect to Google server over the internetz, then place the phone call?)
