Nov 10, 2009Here is what my Contacts look like in Gmail (See below). I imported phone numbers from old phone to the group "Phone Contacts" then got rid of old people and moved them to "Old Phone Contacts". I have it set to only show the 98 Phone Contacts in my contacts on the Droid. (Display Options - Only select "Phone Contacts") Then Facebook only updates those contacts. Then I tried to add a contact on the phone. New Contact --> then selected my google account to add it to. It would then add it to "My Contacts" and not a specific group. So when I go to my contacts in the phone i do not see the new contact because it is not in the "Phone Contacts" group.
See the problem? I tried to see if I could add the new contact to the group on setup of the contact. Nope. Any ideas on how best to do this? It is a real bummer.

Jun 8, 2010Whenever I add a photo to a contact, then put the contact in the Favorites widget, the picture blurs/pixelizes/generally looks like crap.
I was syncing the pictures with the ones in my Gmail contacts, but I then came across this thread in the Incredible forum. However, the solution given there (manually loading the pictures on the SD card and then choosing them from the Gallery) will only work for a short time. Within a few hours, the picture in the Favorites widget goes to hell again.
I thought it might have something to do with the Google sync, but I just did a manual sync, and it didn't affect the picture at all.
My only clue is that when I go into the profile page for a contact that's in the widget, the (smaller) picture in the upper left corner looks fine. But when I go into the edit page, the picture looks terrible, like it does in the widget, until I save again. Also, if while in edit mode, I choose the contact picture from the Gallery again, the picture resets in the Favorites widget. For a while.
Since it was happening with the Incredible, it appears to be a Sense or Android issue rather than an Evo-specific one. Is it too much to ask that my friends and family look as smooth and sharp as the perky models in the sample Favorites widget?

Jun 4, 2010So the one and only thing that I have to complain about with this phone is the serious lag when you tap a favorite person on the contacts widget. Its like a 3 second lag everytime. Any good apps on the market that would replace this widget? I love this phone!

Aug 16, 2010I entered a friend into my contact list and added him to my Favorites widget. I want to remove him from my favorites widget now, but not from my contacts list. How do I do this? It keeps deleting the entire contact. I've edited the contact and removed him from Favorites group and I've gone into People, Groups, & removed the contact from Favorites but when I go to my contact list, he doesn't show up anymore. Why?! If I go to the Favorites widget and add a new favorite then the contact shows up again. But if I just open up people and scroll down-no contact showing up!

May 12, 2010After playing with my Incredible for many many many hours, just found a really sweet trick.In the favorites widget i have people with multiple numbers(cell, phone), and when you click on that person it calls the primary number, but last night i found that if you click the actual name of the contact(right under the actual pic) a detail properties pop up for that contact and from there you can callsmsemail the person via other numbers.now back to looking for more cool things

Oct 19, 2010I have one GMail account synced to my EVO. When I open up 'People' all my contacts I added through GMail are there. Looks great.
However, when I go to the Favorites widget and click + to add a contact to the widget, I get a list of pretty much everyone I've ever sent an email to through my GMail account. I only want my real contacts to show up there, I don't need the dude listed there that I sold my blender to on Craigslist from 5 years ago.

- An option to create a new contact from the pick list, similar to the one which is available in inbuilt Launcher appliation
- Set of contacts should be filtered from display i.e already selected contacts should not be displayed
- Filtering of contacts should be based on the phone number i.e a contact might have two phone numbers associated with and wants to filter out the phone number which is selected I guess above can be achieved by implementing my own pick list using contacts provider, is there any other way without implementing the new pick list

Mar 2, 2010I want to link all of my facebook contacts so they show up in my gmail contacts? Otherwise, the contact on my phone from Facebook may be, and in many cases is, missing lots of relevant information. For example, many people don't keep their full address, or their phone number, on Facebook. If this is so, then no phone number or address is stored on my phone for the many friends who got in my contact list via the Facebook Motoblur magic. I can update these manually, via the phone screen-keyboard, but I would like to use the much easier-to-access PC to gmail user interface. But alas, I cannot, as all of these Facebook contacts don't show up on the gmail list at all.

Dec 14, 2008so i have gone thru everything i can find on this forum but i am at my wits end. i have been able to get my outlook contacts into my gmail account (the csv import worked reasonably well). what i don't understand is that i can view a contact in gmail and see phone numbers, address, email, etc. when i view on the G1 all i get is their email. what am i doing wrong? yes, i have gone in the "display groups" settings and tried all options. anybody else having this problem? Android :: Pictures From My Contact List Do Not Show Up Next To The Texts
Nov 12, 2009I just installed Handcent on my Droid and am having two problems. I checked the settings and can't figure out why these things aren't working properly.
1. The pictures from my contact list do not show up next to the texts. Every one of my contacts has a silhouette and question mark in place of the picture - which shows up fine in the default messaging app.
2. When a new text comes in, the new text notification pops up on the taskbar. I do not receive a handcent notification icon, and if I open the text with Handcent, the default message notification does not disappear.
Samsung Vibrant :: Contact Does Not Show Up In SMS
Oct 3, 2010I just got a Bell Vibrant and unlocked it to use on AT&T. Everything's been working fine, but I do have a minor problem.
When I am in SMS messaging, most of my conversations have contact names on them, but on a few, it shows only the number. The number is clearly the number listed on the contact in my contact list, but the messaging app(stock) doesnt seem to recognize it. This is weird, because in the LauncherPro Messaging widget, it shows the names correctly, but when I go into the SMS messaging app, it doesnt recognize the contact.
