Our application displays widgets that update every minute through Alarm. It works fine under 1.5 and 1.6 but since 2.0, widget is not displayed at all. Only initial layout is displayed.

Considering buying Beautiful Widgets, just for the clock (the small clock here on the right But I don't want to buy it, if you can't use the clock without the weather-part. Beautiful Widgets has been downloaded so many times, one of you must have it and be able to answer my question Alternatively, is there another clock only widget, that uses the same font?

I am trying to implement a simple widget for display on the home screen. The problem I am experiencing is that onUpdate is only being called once when I install the widget. The configuration is below. Note: I will not leave update period at 20 secs as I know that would kill battery (just testing).
Configuration:
`<appwidget-provider xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android"
android:minWidth="294dp" android:minHeight="72dp"
android:updatePeriodMillis="20000"
android:initialLayout="@layout/my_custom_app_widget">`
</appwidget-provider>`
Manifest Excerpt:
`<receiver android:name="MyCustomWidgetProvider"> <intent-filter>
<action android:name="android.appwidget.action.APPWIDGET_UPDATE"/>`
I am observing the following behavior when I install the widget:
In my WidgetProvider class on onReceive is called then onEnabled then onReceive, then onUpdate.
After that the widget displays and onUpdate is never called again. I also inspect the settings of the provider when onUpdate is called and everything set in XML above (e.g. update period) is correct.

I have an Eris and running 2.1 (not rooted) Just started using Launcher Pro. One problem to resolve. I installed Beautiful Widgets - Home as I thought it acted the same as it does on HTC Sense. The location is good, the time is good but when I touch the weather part of the widget, it stays static. I expected to get to see the "forecast" for the next few days.
Also I expected it to be somewhat animated when it is invoked (fog, rain drops, sun throbbing, windshield wipers) as that's the way it is on HTC. I thinks some of you are using this app here on LP. Can you tell me what settings to use to get these features (animated weather and weather forecast) to work? Do I have to download and use a skin other than the default one? If this is a Beautiful Widgets developer question. Does someone have the developer's email as it's not provided in the site (in France I believe).

I was wondering if you know where the image files for the default Beautiful Widget skin are located. I would love to edit it but just can't seem to find it.

I love the look of the Fancy Widget over the Beautiful Widgets. However I was playing around with the features of BW and I like the unlock animation. Well... I set up BW to have that and then I deleted it and added Fancy Widget and I still get the unlock animations. Worked even after a reboot.

I just bought Beautiful Widget and selected the clock and weather skins. My questions is: how do you get it on the home screen. I've tried a few things but the stock home screen is still there.

This would apply to any widget. It just so happens that on most screens (all but my home screen) I have the "Beautify Smaller Home" or whatever its called at the very top. I like easily seeing the time from each screen. And I think it looks nice. Beautiful might be a stretch... but I understand the marketing. But the hypothetical question still applies. If I had the "music" widget or the "messaging" widget on EVERY page. Would that widget use more battery than just one instance? In other words, does EACH INSTANCE of the widget poll for data? Or does the process just poll for data and then each widget just repaints itself on its respective screen as appropriate? I need to know! I'm wondering if I disable "beautiful home" from all but one screens if my battery life will improve. What do you think? Are there any hard-core techies out there that can help me figure it out?

On the HTC full screen agenda widget only the date is displayed and not the day.Is there any way to make it show the day?I find it a little annoying as you have to work out what day the date refers to, e.g. 2/5/2010? Using my fingers to count - it's the errr 26 April today, so,you get my drift.Hopefully there'll be some decent calendar apps come along soon.

I'm just starting to get the hang of Sweeter Home Preview 2. And as many of you already know, some widgets (like Beautiful Home) won't update consistantly. I'm going to email the dev my finding so hopefully he can rectify this issue. But in the meantime, you can try this fix/work-around. My Beautiful Home widget has been keeping the correct time for almost 12 hours now ... through many edits, screen changes, and reboots. That was not the case just yesterday. What I finally did was experiment with the "Layer Level" parameter of everything on the screen. What I found was that if the Beautiful Home widget was on the highest level (10), that it will update with no problems. In fact, I have no other Layer Level 10 items on the screen where I'm using that widget.

I LOVE the beautiful weather widget and the corresponding live wallpaper. My only question is if anyone knows if it does wetaher alerts like the weather channel widget does. I love TWC widget as it has awesome wetaher alert capability along with an easily accessible radar map that's fullly interactive - anything similar on beautiful weather?

Just installed sholes 2.0.6 and temp monitor for my cpu temp. I am fairly new to the overclocking world and don't want to mess anything up. What are some good temps to be seeing running at 1 Ghz and at what temp should I stop what I'm doing and let things cool down?

I updated baseband using recovery and everything went well. Afterwords, it appears to be messing with my temps. Previous to update SetCpu would consistently show temps in the 20's. Now it is almost always @ 30 or above. But Tempmonitor shows differently. Here are some pics. Any Ideas?

For anyone running the Spare Parts app.. I'm just curious as to what your "normal" battery temps are so I can compare.
Light use - around 21 C
Medium - about 36 C
Heavy - upwards of 42 C (mostly while charging also)

I have the paid Weatherbug app and live in Austin, Texas. The value reported by weatherunderground, weather.com, my car, as well as those drive-by LED billboards, tend to be within a couple of degrees of each other (usually 1-2 at max).
Weatherbug however (and correspondingly the Weatherbug site) tend to report temperatures 4-6 degrees lower. I understand that temperatures can vary across a metropolitan area, but 4-6 degrees?
I realize it's their data collection source rather than the phone app itself, otherwise their website wouldn't agree with the phone, which would be an app problem. I also realize it might be geographically isolated, but it's certainly consistently wrong at both my home and my job (26 miles apart, on opposite ends of town).
It would be nit-picking, except for the fact that it's a paid app, and I already dislike their radar/map. This is one paid app I wish I'd skipped.

TempMon is reporting 107 F + while streaming. That's battery temp, of course.CPU is significantly hotter than that.I've tried clocks from 700 up to 1100 and can't get it any cooler.at 700 its barely responsive enough to be functional.at 1200 it reboots.

I got sholes from the market last night and i absolutely LOVE it. I just have a few questions about my OC profile and a temp monitor
Right now my profile is set to
Charging:
Max 1
min 250
Sleep/Standby:
Max 550
Min 125
Power <100%
Max 800
Min 250
Failsafe
Max 550
Min 125
Do those look ok? Also what program works with Sholes to monitor battery and CPU temps?
