HTC Hero :: Possible To Swipe 5 Messages Displayed In Sms Widget?
Feb 17, 2010I have 5 messages displayed in messages widget and i am able to swipe only till 2nd message.
Is this an issue or the expected behavior

Nov 1, 2009Our application displays widgets that update every minute through Alarm. It works fine under 1.5 and 1.6 but since 2.0, widget is not displayed at all. Only initial layout is displayed.

Nov 3, 2010Currently running DeFroST 6.0 forHTC desire (AOSP FRG83 + CyanogenMod). I rooted using unrevoked 3. I installed defrost 5.9via Rom manager then upgraded to 6.0 via defrost settings.
3 questions possibly unrelated
when I run bootloader I see 'no image' and 'wrong image' messages displayed
I am unable to delete stock apps that came with the defrost Rom. In root explorer I mount r /w and delete an app. Confirm delete message shows up. But when I exit app is still there in the drawer functioning normally.
I was told this could be because NAND is locked. I understand that it should be unlocked when the unrevoked root was performed. I suspect that the error message - not enough space I saw in recovery might have something to do with the NAND setting.
Before I installed defrost 5.9 I tried to install the cyanogen 6 Rom via Rom manager. I saw 'not enough space. On device' or something similar (can't remember exactly) displayed in recovery. i think this might have something to do wit NAND setting as well
btw my desire is CDMA. Can any body shed some light on this. im a newb so simple terms please
General :: Text Messages Displayed As If Coming From Different Number
Aug 10, 2013I recently created a new contact in my phone, entered their name, and messaged them with the default messenger. I then realized I entered the wrong phone number so I deleted the contact then created a new one using the same name but the correct phone number and texted them. Now, when they text me, it shows up in its own thread as if it came from the incorrect number I originally entered but when I reply I have to do so in a different thread that displays the correct number. In effect, this contact now has one thread for their incoming messages and one thread for their outgoing messages.
I've tried pulling my battery and SIM but that did nothing. I've tried deleting either or both of the threads and nothing. I've tried deleting them and pulling the battery and SIM afterward and nothing. I've found solutions for merging existing threads but that doesn't work at all for any new messages that are sent or received. It's a bit tedious having to go back and forth between threads just to talk to one person.
Motorola Droid :: Pattern Lock Widget - Random Swipe
Jan 12, 2010I downloaded a pattern lock widget and I wasn't sure if I really wanted to use it so I opened the widget and read the first screen or two to see what it was all about but I never set up a pattern on it - I decided that I didn't want the program. So I set my phone aside for a minute and the screen locked but when I hit the power button to turn the screen back on, the pattern lock screen was there, not the "slide to unlock" screen.
So I just ran my fingers in a random pattern (not even connecting dots - just a random swipe) and it let me right in, Okay, fine. Then I went and uninstalled the app and tried locking the screen to make sure it was gone. Sure enough, the pattern lock screen was there when I tried to unlock it. Again, I ran my fingers in a random swipe and it let me in. I tried pulling the battery and that didn't get rid of it.
So at this point, I seem to be stuck with a pattern lock screen to unlock my phone that is not set to any specific pattern...And I don't even have the app installed anymore! (It's not listed in the list of installed apps.) How do I get rid of it? I just want to go back to the stock "slide to unlock" screen.

HTC Desire :: Day Not Displayed On Agenda Widget
Apr 26, 2010On the HTC full screen agenda widget only the date is displayed and not the day.Is there any way to make it show the day?I find it a little annoying as you have to work out what day the date refers to, e.g. 2/5/2010? Using my fingers to count - it's the errr 26 April today, so,you get my drift.Hopefully there'll be some decent calendar apps come along soon.

Jan 16, 2010I am trying to implement a simple widget for display on the home screen. The problem I am experiencing is that onUpdate is only being called once when I install the widget. The configuration is below. Note: I will not leave update period at 20 secs as I know that would kill battery (just testing).

I am observing the following behavior when I install the widget:
In my WidgetProvider class on onReceive is called then onEnabled then onReceive, then onUpdate.
After that the widget displays and onUpdate is never called again. I also inspect the settings of the provider when onUpdate is called and everything set in XML above (e.g. update period) is correct.

Aug 20, 2010all my contacts are google contacts with several linked to Facebook accounts.When I access my contacts through the People widget, all's good, I only see the google contacts (I've deselected Facebookers in the view menu). However when I access the Messages widget all my contacts are doubled up for some reason. I realise this list is also showing facebook contacts as well as google contacts but even the non-facebook contacts are doubled up.

Nov 4, 2009I got this problem, the headphone logo is on my htc hero, but there is not headphone plug in, therefore I got no sound unless I plug in my headphone, but when I take it out, the logo is still there. To make it worst, I now cannot sync to upgrade the software. I did a master reset, and the headphone logo is still active. All I did was switch off my phone and turn it back on, this happen.

Aug 29, 2009Just a quick question, i have set up my contacts to link to facebook accounts, linking their profile pictures to, however when any of the contacts call and their photo is displayed whilst ringing, it is quite fuzzy is this the same for everyone? i also tried taking a photo off the hero camera and using that instead, picture looked great in the viewer, but when i attach it to a person and they ring, its dead fuzzy again.

Oct 19, 2009I have a HTC Hero running the latest 1.5 software off of HTC site. One thing I have noticed, is that if I have any photos associated with a contact, the photo is heavily pixelated when it is displayed via an incoming/outgoing call.
I am using Gmail Sync to push email, calender and contacts. If I use the Pre or iPhone, then it shows up fine.
Is this a known bug? I have tried re-creating the image on the Hero - but once I select the area, it pixelates it again.

I've tried Gmail Unread Count, but it only tells me my total unread.

Aug 11, 2010I now have "Low on Space" and "Not enough storage space for SM (then it's cutoff)". I have done 6 factory resets since getting it and after the last two I have added no apps to it. I have plenty of memory left but the message still pops up and GMAIL sent and Trash is empty, I have 29mb in use out of 7486mb in Gmail in use and i am about to walk into a Verizon store and beat someone senseless with this piece of crap phone. The INC is the only Android+Sense phone doing this right? Now my Bluetooth wont turn on or off. The widget and menu+settings doesn't work.

Oct 25, 2009When i receive an mms message, i can't open it. in the stock message app, there is a download button. i'll press that, it will change to downloading, then nothing. i started to use chompsms to save battery (i posted previously about awake vs. up time) and the same thing: the bubble will be there stating: "MMS content for this message hasn't yet been downloaded (make sure Auto-retrieve is ticked in the settings of the built-in Messaging app) i made sure and it still won't open.
