I just got the brand new Droid 2 Global, trading up (WAY up) from a BlackBerry Tour. The audio settings for my earbuds show "audio effects" that can be enabled, but the only one that works is "effects profile", which is a "sound stage" stereo separation thing. The other two are Surround and Equalizer, but they are grayed out and don't work. The Equalizer is stuck on the Extreme Bass setting. What gives? Why isn't there an actual EQ function on this thing?

I was wondering if anyone knew of an Audio Booster or Equalizer for Android. I have searched the App Store but haven't found one yet. I use to have a Touch Pro and HTC had an Audio Booster program that let you have an equalizer that you could change while listening to music (only with headphones plugged in) from Hip Hop to Rock and etc...
View 2 Replies View RelatedI had installed Beats Audio Installer which did improved the Quality of Sound on my Headsets and even Beats Headset were Supported...but it spoiled the sound of my phone Speaker.. that is.. Crackling and low sound on some Default Presets of MusicFX. so i had to uninstall it. after Removing Beats.. My Phone Speaker Problem got Fixed but.. MusicFX is working no longer. wen i choose sound effects in default ICS music Player. it Says "Unfortunately MusicFX stopped Working". i tried Clearing Cache and Data of Both Music player and MusicFX but nothing works. I even installed third party Equalizers but all crashes showing Same Message. I even Installed N7 Music player and when i select its Equalizer it says. "But we cannot Initialize Equalizer."
View 3 Replies View RelatedSince I've been using the cm 10 and 10.1 based roms (4.1.x and 4.2.x, respectively) I've noticed the DSP Manager or Awesome beats audio effects randomly stop effecting the sound. It was noted here:
HTML Code: [URL] .....
That pausing and playing the audio player will re-enable the EQ effects. I normally use Google Music on the HTC Rezound running a variant of CM10.1 (4.2.2) but others have stated other devices and are doing this as well.
I just played with it by force closing the DSP manager process while listening to music. This did not in and of itself stop the EQ effects. Once I reopened the DSP manager app and again stop/start or pause played the effect was re enabled. Simply restarting the DSP manager app did not re enable the effect.
I like to know on which version of SDK does support 'AudioTrack' class? Does 'AudioTrack' can be used from 1.5 SDK, 1.6 SDK and 2.0 SDK?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have observe issue while playing with Android Music app :
The "Music" application in Android 2.0 {eclair} and 2.1 does not recognize an AMR-NB formatted audio file with the ".3gp" extension although it is listed in the Android Supported Media Formats in Android Developer's Guide:- <http://developer.android.com/intl/ja/guide/appendix/media-formats.html>
It does recognize the same file with ".amr" extension.
While Music in Android 1.5 {cupcake} recognizes both AMR-NB formatted audio file with ".3gp" and ".amr" extensions.
I also want to know if it is the current behavior of Music in Android 2.0 and 2.1 or a issue existing ??
If it is discussed earlier in at any thread before please place the link here .
I am working on a music streaming application and cannot find APIs I can use for it (MediaPlayer supports files only local or HTTP). I have a few questions and would appreciate if someone can help me answering them.
Does Android SDK 1.5 support audio streaming (MP3 stream for example)? If does what API calls I can use? If doesn't what are the plans for future SDK releases that would support streaming? Are there any suggested work arounds until the streaming is supported (like temp files etc)?
I have a requirement where I need to play an audio file in receiver mode(earpiece).I am not sure whether higher versions of Android SDK supports this receiver mode.I went through some links which said about 1.5/1.6 having changes in these Audio APIs and hence not sure.
View 1 Replies View RelatedMusic101 question: Im new to Android and I have a CLIQ.
I just copyied music files from my Windows-based pc the they all copied with no problem. The issue is when I go to play the music I have to force close the app repeatedly then I get an error message saying "sorry player does not support this type of audio file".
Is there an app available to convert files or did I mess up the path in someway that the songs, all mp3's btw, just aren't being located properly?
I got a samsung galaxy s vibrant and I loaded elfen lied on my phone the subtitles are supported but my audio isn't working was wondering if it was because it is in dual audio. I am currently running 2.1 eclair on my phone.
View 3 Replies View RelatedHas anyone else had this issue while trying to play MP3's through the Music player? I downloaded this album the other day (legally of course), the first track plays fine but the rest of them just throw up this error.
"Sorry, the player does not support this type of audio file"
The tracks play fine in media player so I'm a little stumped.
I do have an unused Xperia X8 which would perfectly fit as an extension for my HiFi. The X8 should be plugged to the HiFi using a normal stereo jack and should provide the music to the HiFi.
The music should be stored on a network share or/and on the MicroSD card - and in some rare cases on some cloud service.
To find a player which is supporting these things is not a problem - but I do not want to get up every now and then to change music or to skip to the next track or change my playlist. We do have other Android devices lying around as well incl. a tablet So is there a way to control another Android Device which acts as a music player - from another Android device or PC to change music, to skip songs and so on ?!
If you are on PC - that is easy - you get a Web Interface for nearly every piece of software but hey - what about the android eco system - how they play together ?!
I am getting the following error when I try to play some song using the standard "Music" App: "sorry, the player does not support this type of audio file" So far I have only had this happen on .ogg files. I can play some .ogg files with no problem but other will not play. Often there is one I can play and one I can't from the same album which I ripped from my CD in the same ripping session so the encoding parameters should be the same. Another weird thing is that I sometime can succeed in playing a song by finding it in OI File Manager and selecting it there. OI File Manager opens in in the "Music" App and it plays not problem, but I cannot open it from within "Music" App!

I want to create simple equalizer for android. How can I do it?
Try to find some methods in MediaPlayer class. But all my attempts failed.
I know Mixzing has a built in EQ and I like it quite a bit, but I'd like a stand alone one so I can use it for my MoG and other audio apps...if nobody knows where a link for one is, go ahead and write one!

So, I take it the .wav files cannot be played on Android phones. Has anyone found a workable and simple workaround to this yet?
Does the dsp-based equalizer referenced here [[TIP] Installing DSP-based equalizer on Android 2.2 stock ROMs.xda-developers ] work with Virtuous? It says stock roms and while Virtuous is not vastly different from stock it, nonetheless, is not totally stock. Thanks in advance for your feedback if you know.

If it works on another ROM, post here and I'll add it to the OP.
Does anyone know of a way to adjust the eq on music? Either by custom or rock, rap, jazz, etc.
Also, is there anyway to make it so that music will cut off if headphones are unplugged? I have accidentally unplugged my headphones at work and the music starts blasting and I am embarassed.
This is one thing that annoys me about mp3 playback on the Droid, the lack of an equalizer. Does anyone know if they are planning on adding one in a future firmware update or if there's a good 3rd party app that has one?
